The locals love it. We were told it was the best....it was average. The service was fast and the staff super nice. But I found the food a bit mundane.

Lucked out and found this place a few weeks ago on our vacation. Excellent food and service.

This is my favorite barbecue spot! Well worth the drive from hampton roads! The barbeque is amazing. I've tried many of the sides and I love them all. And the pumpkin muffin is a must try!

Go for porkapalooza! Its fantastic and definitely worth the trip and the entry fee. Amazing!

Very delicious BBQ! Great service and the staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of different BBQ choices for any taste and budget. I liked how they had different sauces on the table. Definitely go back when I'm in the area.

A fabulous meal, highly recommend the pork sandwich!! Situated at an odd intersection this establishment has an excellent menu of BBQ. When I arrived the staff were very helpful and fast. The Mac and cheese was not my style, but it was well done in the style it was done in. Highly recommend

Excellent pulled pork and sides. Very casual, six sauces to choose from and home-baked cookies and brownies.

Delicious pumpkin muffins. Heavenly smoked bacon. Delicious brisket. Their broccoli salad, potato salad...the list of can't miss delicacies goes on and on.

The barbeque here is very good, not perfect, but very good. I found it a little dry the day I was there. Portions are large, you are unlikely to go hungry. A nice, local place to get something to eat!

I have been to hundreds of BBQ places, but this one takes the cake. The BBQ tastes unique, like they really put effort into making it. We had the family meal with baked beans (amazing), mac and cheese (wonderful) and collard greens (exceptional) and main was the Pulled pork which was insanely good. Just typing this review makes me salivate again. Shame we live in Florida or it would be a usual spot for us, but we got to enjoy it while saying in Gordonsville recently. The place was packed and for good reason, we decided to place a to go and eat it back at our cabin and man was it good, and a great price at that. Keep it up, we will be back.

This was a pork-paloosa, lots of food and unusual dishes. Pork selections were few and not so great.

The gold standard of BBQ. The real deal. I compare every BBQ pork sandwich to this one. My kids love the corn dogs. They have a nice selection of specialty sodas and craft beers. If it's crowded when you arrive, just know: it's worth the wait!

Great BBQ, fast service. Big selection of sides. I think the cornbread is a little dry so I usually get the pumpkin muffins which are tasty.

First off I love BBQ and sauces. Their Virginia sweet sauce was fabulous! As for the food we had pulled pork it was OK little dry nothing special. It was fairly expensive for the quality. The place was clean and service was great.

Go away. I want all the Bbq for myself. Try the pork belly.

This place is a gem in Gordonsville. They offer an authentic BBQ experience at reasonable prices. Staff are always friendly and polite, and service can't be beat. The food is to die for. If you love pork, you're in the right place. Be sure to stop by in February for their annual "Porkapalooza" event!

Prices are fair, good selection of BBQ sauce which is much needed for the dry meats.

Some of the best bbq in Piedmont Va. Rolls and breads are good as well.

Some friends took a ride (2 hrs) on motorcycles from No Va. to try "the best BBQ in Va."
Boy what a disappointment, we got there at 11am, opens at 11. and they said they were out of brisket. The ribs were not cooked, needed a knife to get them apart and very chewy and no flavor unless you doused them in sauce . I also didn't get what atmosphere they were talking about. we almost saw about 3 crashes at the entrance to the restaurant while we were there for about 1/2 hour.
At least the scenic route down and back was great. People were saying also best in the area but I can't imagine trying the others.

This place only has good reviews because it is the only place in town. The BBQ is meh. We waited over an hour for food that is preprepared and just scooped into a container. This place is not worth it. You are better off going to food lion buying your meat and cooking it yourself because that is a quicker option...

Great BBQ, and awesome sides to complement it. It's a little pricey, but I think its worth it. I only wish that they could find a better location and faster way to serve people. The food is so amazing that the small building they are in gets packed out fast, and the line can get pretty long. This doesn't really matter that much though, because the food is worth the wait.

Very good food and friendly helpful staff. I had the sausage platter and my wife had the chicken. We were both very happy with our meals. The baked beans were the best we've ever had. The cole slaw was a bit dry in my opinion, but the corn bread was great. If we are down in this area again, this will definitely be on our list of stops.

Been meaning to go for some time now and was really disappointed. The sides I got, collards and Mac and cheese were not very good and the brisket was dry. I don't plan on going back and won't recommend it unless someone just wants to say they ate at a place that was on tv

Definitely more expensive than I was prepared for but the food was great! However, I have spent most of my life as a vegetarian and, even though I no longer am, I still enjoy ordering tofu when I can. I won't make that mistake again. BBQ tofu is not good! I ended up eating my son's leftover pulled chicken sandwich. The fried pickles are perfect! Would visit again for sure!!

Brisket was okay. Didn't like the sauces very much. The garlic pickels were my favorite.

We love this place!!! I've eaten there a few times now and would recommend the platter with the half chicken. They smoke the chicken and then fry it. You typically have to wait for 7-10 minutes extra because it is made to order, but well worth the wait. Their collard greens are excellent as a side, but very savory. The mac and cheese it nothing special, and the fries are excellent. Seating tends to be terrible and going when it is cold is a gamble because a lot of the seating is outside.

Everytime that we're in the area, we have to stop here. Worth the wait. I don't know what they changed in the rib recipe, but they're DELICIOUS!

Big selection...it's just the stuff we got was not well prepared. Brisket was inedible it was so chewy. Beans were tossed too because of flavor. Pork belly, chicken bbq, and hush puppies were great though. Honestly pretty disappointed we drove 45 minutes for this.

I'm vegan and have a pet pig, this place offends me.

Best BBQ in town. Definitely recommend it. Great tasting ribs. Just wished the service was a bit faster. But overall great place to hand out and eat great food.

Amazing BBQ but the brisket is not as good an anything porky

This is definitely a local venue. The pulled pork sandwich had plenty of flavor and lots of smoke. What's the coleslaw which should enhance the flavor how's the meat actually detracted from it. Very quaint two tier dining room with a few outside tables and very friendly people inside helping out. I would love to give it more stars but this was my first visit and I will go back to try other menu items the cause of the Smoky flavor. Maybe next time we can get up for four stars.

Tasty food with enough variety for everyone's taste.

Well, a lot of people have the right idea about this place. It is delicious. Visited on consecutive days because it was so good. Pork belly is definitely worth it but I would order it as an add on with a big group. Brisket is absolutely delicious. Neither really need any more sauce, they are that good. As for sides I tried a bunch and here are my rankings:
pumpkin muffin, corn bread (most people will disagree and I'm okay with that)
macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw, collared greens
Colonel Bacon sauce is better than the rest of the sauces.

Seriously worth a stop whenever you're going through Gordonsville. Also well worth it going out of your way through Gordonsville.

Amazing take home for these tough times. We ordered and paid online and picked it up. We ordered extra for the next day s lunch. Everything was fresh and amazing!

We drive for hours to eat this BBQ. I was lucky enough to find Barbeque Exchange through work and they are my go to now for good BBQ. Pork belly is by far my favorite and worth the 2 hour drive. I've had a lot of things on the menu and never had anything bad. Make the trip you won't be disappointed!

This place is always busy, which is no surprise since the food is delicious!! Limited parking, though, is available for larger vehicles such as a horse trailer.
