Favorite! Have to have the fish and chips, but with a salad, not chips. And mud pie.

Great food, comfortable distancing, but gets very busy, so get there early!

We took the morning Kayak trip with Kayak Shak and then walked over the Bayside Cafe.
This seemingly small place is just below the Morro Bay State Park Museum and shares a parking lot with a newly dedicated kayak launch and the State Park marina.
They offer an outdoor patio and every inside table has a view of the marina and bay.
We go for lunch, usually on of the many delicious sandwiches which come with fries or soup or salad or slaw.
The slaw is fabulous, they will not give out the recipe, saying it is an old family secret.
The menu is quite extensive, with appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, Mexican dishes, and a kid's menu. They provide a good local wine list, and numerous beers along with the usual sodas and tea.
Great atmosphere, prices, and food! One of the best lunch options in Morro Bay.

Great clam chowder and we love that we can bring our dogs and sit on the lovely patio.

Next to marina with great views. Food is fine. If in the area I would come back again. Service is great expect a short wait but worth it.

Great view with lots of outdoor seating and menu has a nice selection of seafood and cafe favorites. Love that they offer 1/2 Liter and Litre of house wine reminiscent of Europe. Friendly service and good food.

My boyfriend and I went to eat there twice over the last 3 years. Both times there was a window seat, with a view of the bay, right as you walk in the larger room. The Host/ Owner both times refuses to seat us there, and tried to seat us toward the back of the room.
The second time I questioned her about why she didn't offer us that seat. She tried to make it sound like we wouldnt want to sit there. What? The best seat in the house.
It was so bizzare. We were dressed like everyone else, our money is just as good as anyone elses, and it happened twice now, a year or two apart. Bizarre.
I refused to stay both times, because that is just creepy. Has anyone else had this experience?
There are so many great places to eat in Morro Bay Los Osos area, we don't don't miss it, but we do still like the State Park!

If u didn't have hamburger buns tell the person so they know.
It was very bad and dry blue cheese was bad

apparently two slices of bread a hamburger patty and blue cheese and dressing was easier and smarter than telling the customer they don't have hamburger buns
How is being cheap and dishonest your customers a smarter move?

They need to fix there phone it's very hard to hear them when the phone don't work right

My family put in an order for food everything was wrong messed up and this is supposed to be for four people having a small celebration at home but the food was so bad it made it even worse

I get we're in the middle of a pandemic but you don't need to take advantage of the customer just to make a dollar

I am not a happy person

Most boring, overpriced and flavorless fish tacos I ever had. Their fish taco was lots of dry salad, a few flavorless shrimp, and on the bottom two small tacos. No avocado, no pickled onion, no cream, just lots of dry lettuce with some bland salsa as the only condiment. If I had not gotten grilled onions this taco would have had no flavor at all.

Much better fish tacos just north in next town at Rudell s smokehouse in Cayucaus.

Overall just "meh" seafood. The clam chowder was more potato soup and the tri tip sandwich was way too spicy to not have a warning, I was spitting out chili flakes. The reason for the one star is because I ordered the tri tip sandwich cut in half and was only given half a sandwich. The tri tip sandwich costs around $13 and when I asked if I could get the other half I was told I need to pay another $9.50 for it. Definitely will be going to a different restaurant for fresh seafood.

Great place, and the Calif. Chowder is exceptional!

Calm atmosphere; uncomplicated but thoughtfully composed mains. Friendly and helpful staff. It's a great place for lunch!

Great service, fresh food, beautiful view of the trees and pretty views! We had five kids and they were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

The location is great. Not right "downtown" Morro Bay, but just south of there; closer to the campsite and kayaking. Surrounded by tall trees, it feels a bit like eating in someone's casual backyard. Be sure to bring a sweater - it can get cool in the shade.
The service was good, if not remarkable, but the fish and chips were excellent. This isn't fancy fusion cuisine. It's simple without feeling institutional.

We have been here before to this little hidden place and think that it is worth the short wait. The halibut special was good. Their clam chowder is also very good!

This is a good place to go for lunch. I had a tostada that came in a large soup bowl in order to contain all the juices from the meat and beans. It was still good. You choose your meat and beans (mine were pork chile verde and pinto beans). My husband had fish and chips and finished it all. You get plenty to eat at reasonable prices.

Spicy green chile soup I usually don't believe restaurants when I read it's spicy but dang this one was, so good and so worth it.
Husband got the cod tacos and 80% is lettuce and toppings 20% is the fish. He still really enjoyed it, he just didn't have to order a side salad.

I highly recommend the desserts here. My personal favorite is probably the boysenberry crisp, but they are all good. Overall, this is a very cute and popular cafe with a harbor view and good food.

Great place to eat! A bit out of the way but well worth it. Great food and staff. Unbeatable view of the bay. Get there early because it's popular and there can be a wait. Check it out!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Morro Bay! Excellent fish & chips, great atmosphere, and a family feel from the staff. Highly recommended.

The food here is wonderful!
They offer an extensive menu with something for every taste.
It is set by the Morro Bay State Park marina so it offers nice views of boats at the marina. There is also a kayak rental across from the restaurant making it a good place to grab a bite before or after exploring the bay in your kayak.
There is both inside and outside seating for your dining pleasure.
They serve breakfast and lunch.

Excellent menu options for vegetarians. Great service. Will return.

Gorgeous and casual little hideaway with scrummy fish centric food. Had the fish burrito special and it was lovely with a nice bit of spice and heat and nicely prepared.

Set in the beautiful confines of Morro Bay State Park this casual eating establishment has been around for a while but I've only been a few times. Service is moderately friendly and we visited in the middle of the afternoon so the place was not too busy yet. I got a hamburger which was so-so. There was an off flavor which could have been their choice of green leaf lettuce which to me tastes like dirt. The fries were great though and my wife got fish and chips which was 100% delicious. Since it was her b-day they comped us a slice of mud pie that was also excellent. Not to be forgotten are the great views of the bay and the distant sand dunes. Check it out!

Across from Morro Bay Marina and easily accessible from the PCH (pacific coast highway), Bayside Cafe features seafood and traditional favorites like huge Burritos (8.50) and large Burgers.
I had the Ahi Tuna and Seafood Chowder. Both were well prepared and California fresh. I love the interior ceiling art. It is exquisite with a sweet beach feel. I will share a few pictures which do not do the Bayside justice

We were told to come here by a local shop owner! Well worth the drive from the beaten path of main st. Just 5 minutes more for a blissful lunch spot!

This place is known for there fish and chips. Always fresh fish and they use a really light batter...mmm

They have very friendly service here and if you feel you filled your tank to the brim with good food there is a nice little trail to walk with wonderful views a little ways down from it.

The Bayside Cafe is conveniently located next to the Morro Bay golf course. This area is also close to the campsites and very much isolated from the hustle and bustle tourism of the Morro Bay embarcadero.

If you want to enjoy the ocean and Morro Bay but in the quiet this is the place to eat. They have great seafood even their simple dishes like fish and chips are worth every bite.

Their menu also includes fresh crab and fancy seafood delicacies you won't find elsewhere.

It was definitely worth the wait. Not their fault, blame it on COVID. Great amazing food.

Has the quality gone down? When you pay $20 for fish n chips you expect it to be good. I have been there many times, but this time I was very disappointed. I will not be back. I was served old fish. I had to return the first order, they tried again , and it still came back hard and rubbery. Not to mention they are not changing their oil which makes the fish greasy. I left very disappointed and felt I was treated rudely when they argued the fish was fine. Waste of my day.

Have ate here for years the food was ok never received water but otherthan that it was fine.

Their menu has a lot of variety. Delicious veggie options. Staff is very friendly! You must try the Green Pepper Soup! Outdoor ambiance is nice--right at the marina by the Morro Bay Golf Course.

Without a doubt, the very best fish & chips available in the area! Five piece beer battered cod & chips is a large serving for any hungry traveler. Great view of the bay and sunsets! Lots of great food choices on the menu and great easy going atmosphere.

Great location. Friendly staff. Clam chowder was a little salty. The albacore skewers were wrapped in bacon which was 80% uncooked and fish was 50% uncooked. Waste of money at 13.75!

I go with my wife to this lovely place often! This is the best place to eat. I visit this spot routinely. The food is very good, the workers are friendly and the prices are good. I like going in this place for a good meal.

As of right now this is take out only with a few outside tables that you can sit at and eat. GREAT food.

First of all I have to admit that the fish and shrimp are so so delicious. I can honestly say that this is going to be one of my favorite places to eat at every time I come to visit Morro Bay and highly recommend Bayside Cafe if you're interested in fish or shrimp it's delicious.

We love this cafe's menu. I highly recommend the fish & Chips, and the coleslaw. Every item we have tried on the menu has been delicious and tastes better than mom makes at home. We take all our friends and relatives to sit outside on the porch and eat. Everyone who goes with us to Bayside Cafe loves the experience too. Highly recommend.

Great Food! Try everything, start with fish and chips!

Food was wonderful! But the service was terrible waited a very long time to get our drinks ordered our waitress came once we ordered two things off the kids menu and two adult entrees and she charged us an adult cheeseburger for my 7 year old

Great view, decent food. If you want to stop off somewhere beautiful and have a hearty meal, this is a great place. Afterwards you can stroll around and enjoy the scenery.

Love it. Location, great menu and great people. The best petrale sole when it's in!
