Super fresh, great food and great service. My wife loves the fish and chips, I'm a fan of just about whatever is on the special board. Don't forget to save room for desert, the Key Lime pie is to die for (the cobbler is pretty dope too)!

Food and drinks were good, which was the positive part of my experience. Negative part: food is overpriced, it took a long time for a server to come to the table, sign says wait to be seated, but I didn't know I was supposed to sign myself in. So I waited and waited, trying to get the hostesses attention, all the while people were signing in for a table in front of me. No bathroom indoors. Have to use the park public bathroom next door. Through patio does not face the water or have a view. Unfortunately, I don't think I would come back.

Quaint little spot on the bay. Fish & chips were delicious!
Staff was kind and fast. The setting was warm with the outdoor heaters going on a cool day. Tables were well spaced, and the staff was cleaning well between customers.

A good place to eat sea food outside in Morro bay California. I had fish and chips with clam chowder. Good portions of tasty fish at reasonable price. Felt safe to eat there in times of Covid 19.i will good there again
Tell your friends about it or take them there. Good views of the bay and boats.

Great food, amazing staff, beautiful location. There really isn't anything to complain about with this place. I have been going here for years and I love the comfortable and old-school environment. The food is fresh and always delicious. Even though the place is known for it's fish and chips and clam chowder, they also have some vegan and gluten free options that do not disappoint. One of the better places to dine at in Morro Bay.

One of my favorite restaurants. Period. Great seafood and desserts. Our favorite is the Coquille st. Jaques, seafood pasta, steamers and boysenberry cobbler. All so fresh and the sauces delectable. Seems to be a locals place. Avoid the crazy tourist rush at the embarcadero and enjoy this place. Nice view of the back Bay and marina. Dining set up well for this masked virus time we're in.

Very friendly staff, and great ambience. This place offers ample vegetarian options. The veg sandwich, enchiladas and burrito bowl were great!
And did you know, this place is dog-friendly too! My pooch loved hanging out with us here :)

Oh, this is one of my faves in Morro Bay. If you want to go where the locals go, then go to Bayside Cafe! I have ordered everything on the menu here & you can't go wrong. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh! I think it's the best clan chowder in Morro Bay, but hey, I'm just a local. Relaxed atmosphere, with a great outdoor patio with heaters. Also have indoor seating. Fyi...the bacon wrapped albacore is one of my faves!

Not only does the place have charm and warmth, the food is sure to give you foodgasms! Classic American cuisine paired with a diner kinda feel on the water near the woods! What more could you want? The Boysenberry Crisp is a MUST, so save room from the yummy fish you'll order 1st. Fish n Chips = yummy! Definitely recommend you eat here, even if just for a cup of coffee and a dessert *pictured is the spoken of dessert and Chicken Tortilla soup 10.29.2020

Cute, casual dockside dining. We walked from our hotel, the Morro Bay Inn. The food is good and they are very accommodating. We had a big group, so we split ourselves into two separate tables to make it easier for them, but they noticed we were one group, so they pushed the tables together for us - so nice! We actually ate here twice because we liked it so much and it was so convenient.

This is an amazing place. If you are at Morro Bay, you must eat here. They provide outdoor seating with space heater, blankets and binoculars. All with great food and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back!

WOW. Beautiful experience, first our server Sara was the absolute sweetest, most down to earth and warm hearted soul. Second they brought out a water bowl asap for our dog (so sweet) and third, the food was amazing. We had fish and chips, the skewers ( albacore with bacon wrapped around) and the tostada. All of which was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to go back. Btw the views alone are stunning. We felt so welcomes and spoiled! Thank you Bayside

Bayside Cafe is a hidden gem of a restaurant in the Morro Bay State Park. It is located at the State Park marina. The views and location are fantastic. Indoor and outdoor dining. Prices are reasonable, food is excellent and staff has always been top notch. I highly recommend.

Great food and beautiful view of the bay! The staff works together like a well-oiled machine. Do not be put off by the crowds waiting outside, the wait is not too long, the view is awesome and well worth the wait. It is also dog friendly, bring your pooches to sit with you on the patio.

Service staff were a bit overwhelmed during the lunch rush, but kept their cool and even managed a smile or two. Started with full order of nachos which were awesomely delicious. Everything else was very tasty, but the check seemed a little steep. Such is the cost of eating out on the coast.

The fish and chips are amazing! The Alaskan cod was battered beautifully. Adding a little malt vinegar, and their fresh and tasty tartar sauce (fresh dill and shaved onion) made it even better. To top it off, Sarah was such a helpful and friendly server that made our meal even more enjoyable. Really not a bad view from the water/inside of the restaurant with their big glass windows.

A recent trip to Morro Bay, CA had my husband and I looking for a place to eat that wasn't along the Embarcadero. Looking on the map, we found an out of the way cafe across the street from Morro Bay State Park called Bayside Cafe. I read a little bit of the history of this out of the way cafe and so we decided to try it out.
The first thing, of course, was the location. We both loved the location. Next to the marina, you see the private boats docked and of to one side the Bayside Cafe. Not a large establishment but definitely well known.
As we approached, we saw both outside seating and inside seating.
Greeted by the host and some staff, the environment was warm and welcoming. Everyone had a smile, wonderful!
We were seated next to the window with a great view. Actually, to be entirely honest, don't think any seat in the cafe had a bad view.
looking through the menu, I couldn't decide and my husband was torn between the fish and chips and the crab cake sandwich. Once I heard the specials, one being seafood tacos, I was sold. My husband opted for the crab cake sandwich. Both were delicious and light, and satisfying.
Once we finished our lunch, we decided to take a little stroll arounds the grounds-- both around the cafe and across the street at the Morro Bay State Park.
Starting at the state park/golf course (beautiful by the way) we noticed two huge birds just wondering around. As we got closer we were both shocked to see that these to large creatures were turkeys. Who expects to see turkeys wondering around Morro Bay? We certainly did not. They were beautiful.
We made our way back across the street and meandered around the cafe and noticed some stairs that led to a trail...we are always up for an adventure. As we climbed the stairs and followed the trail, we reached the top of the hill located somewhat behind the cafe. The view was AMAZING! I know that there are gorgeous views of the bay but, for us, this was breathtaking. I included a couple of those pics as well.
If you ever make it to Morro Bay, stop in at the Bayside Cafe, the staff is happy, the food is fresh and delicious, and view is breathtaking.
We will definitely be returning to this little gem.

Large servings. Very popular. The wait for a table was going to be 30 minutes so we decided to get take away and it was brought out fairly quick. The food was good. They have outside eating for people with pets.

The people are lovely, the place is nice. The location is really pretty. The soup was delicious. Unfortunately, the other food we ordered wasn't quite as enjoyable. Maybe some of that is preference, but we ordered 2 pasta dishes and both were pretty over cooked. We heard people raving about the shrimp, so if you go there perhaps give that a try.

I got the fish of the day (sword fish) salad with mango salsa and a dijon mustard vinaigrette. It was delicious! My wife had the California chowder (which was a fusion of a clam chowder and a chile verde soup). That was also delicious! Great environment and all staff were super friendly!

2nd time not so much. Didn't include the yummy bread we got the first time. Actually came with no bread this time, not sure why.it was close to closing time. The waiter was very nice and polite.Rest of the staff was preoccupied with their phones.
