This place is awesome. We've been waiting for their fish and chowder for months. If you love fish and chowder this is it.

Food and service are top notch. Found this place driving through the Morro Bay State Park. Looking forward to eating here again on my next vacation.

Enjoyed excellent fish and chips. Lemonade was fantastic too. Service was good, they didn't hover unnecessarily.

Good food, but we were there on a cool foggy day and the outdoor heating was minimal.

We were completely delighted with our dinner at the Bayside Cafe. The ambience was relaxed and casual but not lackadaisical; attention was paid to every detail to make sure patrons had a pleasant and safe evening despite Covid19. Our salmon burrito was delicious and perfectly cooked, a very generous portion that we shared. It satisfied us both but happily we still had room for a slice of yummy mud pie. The hostess was welcoming and friendly and Garret, our waiter, was very attentive and absolutely charming. We will definitely return for another meal and we'll tell our friends to eat here too.

I really love this place, great little cafe on the back bay, killer food, super service and great specials, but my favorite is the Ramos tacos, outstanding. Don't forget the desert, the berry crumble is unbelievable with heavy cream and whip cream, why not.

Table service was awesome. My last meal was ok-I had teriyaki bacon wrapped albacore (bacon a little under cooked, and albacore a little over cooked, but still very tasty) and a salmon sandwich on a pretzel bun, which I was disappointed in (salmon flavor overpowered all.. No pretzel bun, lettus, tomoto flavor) with fries(very good) but proir meals were excellent..sauteed mushroons are amazing, and crab cakes are really tasty. Expect to wait, this tiny place gets full and busy! Worth the wait in the long run.

We came here after a 4 hour drive from upstate. We were creeped out that there were no lights and the place was hidden by trees. We were seated fairly quickly even though there were many people and food came out quickly. Seafood pastas are pretty good while the mexican food we ordered (chicken quesadilla and a tri tip burrito) wasn t that good. The mashed potatoes that come with the blackened ahi is amazing. Not sure if you can ask for it as a side but would definitely try.

Bayside has been our goto restaurant for the last 20+ years. Unfortunately it seems to have made some changes recently. New chefs or altered recipes. The quality of the food has taken a slip backwards. They used to have the best clam chowder in the area, hands down. Last month it was really mediocre. Clearly not the same recipe or ingredients they have been using for years. Other items have slipped as well. The Calamari and Chips has been shrinking in portion size for several years. To the point where I think the dinner comes with less Calamari than the appetizer and yet the price keeps going up.

We'll give it another shot, but it doesn't seem to be the same anymore and it used to be 5 star for everything. I hope they make some corrections as it is a great little local spot.

They do have nice outdoor seating and the patio is dog friendly for friendly dogs which is a bonus.

We went there just for a coffee and dessert. So I can't speak for the food but the service was nice.

Wonderful dinner. Crabcakes starter, seabass in light curry sauce with simple fresh aldente broccoli and rice pilaf ended with a chocolate torte for dessert. Good service, nice casual atmosphere, excellant fish!

Great food with awesome staff. They have a pet friendly patio.

First time here and will be back for great food and dog-friendly environment. Really enjoyed our visit.

Hands down the best restaurant in all of the central coast. It s was a hidden gem for years in morro bay but now it is a hotspot people like myself wait in line for. I have been going to this restaurant for nearly 28 years and they never disappoint. They have the best clam chowder ever. I always suggest the clam chowder and the clam strips and chips but you will not be disappointed by anything on their menu. The staff is friendly and professional. They always tend to every customer as if they are the most important customer they have. There is one seat in particular that I love the most and it s the secluded two person seat by the front where you can look out to the bay and see it s many marvelous views. Don t let the review of the person being upset about being sat in the spot by the parking lot because they were wrong. This is a restaurant you will not be disappointed in. Please don t hesitate to go it s a must go eating experience you will remember for your entire life time.

The claim chowder is delicious and the cali chowder is off the chain

Cozy sit down with an amazing sunset view and an incredibly tasty and diverse menu along with a very friendly staff. The desserts are especially good, and the owner might even be around for a nice chat! Unfortunately, space is limited (get there fast), and they do not serve breakfast.

Probably one of the top restaurants in Morro Bay. The marina setting, the menu offerings, the staff - QUALITY! I have so many "favorites" but the California Chowder is amazing!

This place was good. Was visiting family and they took us here. Fish and chips could have been a tad more crunchy but no real complains. Pretty location.

Went to Bayside Cafe on 4/5/15. We were seated quickly but waited awhile for our meals. The food was only okay and the service was poor. I only saw two waitresses who seemed more concerned about other things then checking in with the tables. Our two parties will not return.

I love this place, but it s always too busy and we can never get a table. It s very frustrating.

Short wait, drink order taken quickly. We were given ample time to peruse the menu. My lady asked for a soup sample & was obliged. Food was hot when delivered. Her soup was very good. I had clam strips which were good, but not outstanding. Would return when in the area.

Great food ,atmosphere, selections. This is our favorite restaurant in or near Morro Bay. Great for either lunch or dinner. Only issue was at dinner in feb, 2014, our waiter was unattractive, I had to get the mgr. to straighten things out, she did a fantastic job. Great table wines on the deck or inside. You can't go wrong.

The food is very good and the view is lovely. They are taking great care to maintain social distancing and the use of masks.

Very nice, the food was delicious. My son (picky eater) even enjoyed the fish and chips. Definitely recommend the fish and chips and calamari... their house made dressings and sauces are delicious!

Always enjoy meals together with friends at Bayside. Great food and good service. They r always busy but worth the wait to be seated.

+ Beautiful view of the marina and lots of wildlife nearby. You can spot lots of different birds including herons, cormorants, pelicans, and more

+ Adorable and cozy indoor dining area as well as a beautiful patio with lots of heat lamps

+ GET THE NACHOS! SO DANK! They are super generous with the toppings and its layered beneath the chips as well. Not just on the top. You get goodies in every bite
+ They are famous for their "California Chowder." We didn't try it but we got their Chili Verde which was good.
+ They have a pretty extensive menu with lots of options from seafood to burgers, from American classics to Mexican.
+ Clam Linquine was very generous with clams. The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce was very light.
+ Shrimp Enchiladas were delicious. Very large portion and fresh shrimp.
+ Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and the overall dining experience.

Tasty food, but like most places in USA the portions are huge for us Europeans

We've been eating at Bayside for many years. I'm very picky about fish, and this is one of two places I will order "fish & chips" from. They are consistently wonderful - not "fishy." Definitely my number one choice!

Long wait with COVID-19 protocol, but food was worth it and the outdoor setting, very nice!

This was an accidental find. The Swordfish topped salad was a treat. The view of Morro is a plus. It gets crowded close to sunset. So an early dinner is recommended.

Food was excellent. Darren, our waiter was very good. The hostess, Amanda was a little crabby at first... But she came around eventually.

Really great food made with fresh ingredients. I had the pasta primavera and it had asparagus, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes - great vegetarian options. My parents had excellent fish and chips. Tres Leche cake is homemade and delicious, so save room for a slice. Nice view of the water and close to park activities. Friendly service.

Great food great views great service. Outdoor patio was plenty warm with all the heaters they have in use.

Been going here since I was 8 every year when camping, still one of my all time favorite restaurants. Great food and always very friendly staff.
