Cape Town institution does theatre. Associated with the University of Cape Town, this theatre complex attracts world class productions. While probably the second largest theatre complex in Cape Town, it is quite intimate on global scales. But well maintained, great space and of course it s iconic orange roof domes are worth a few pics!

Lovely venue. Went to see a local play Anty Merle...hilarious....
Also , a nice way to spend the evening prior to seeing the play is eating at their local diner.
Great way to spend an evening out being entertained.

I usually enjoy shows at the Baxter but had to drop my rating as the last show was spoilt by the constant crunching of popcorn and crinkling of the giant popcorn packet that it came in. Please stop selling popcorn in packets or dont sell them at all. We not at the movies.

Great venue, friendly staff and ample parking just above the venue. Three different theatre options for various genre. Bar available with wide variety of beverages. Restaurant caters for theatre patrons pre show. Been an institution for at least 35 years.

Always been a very homely theatrical venue. The meeting of friends and family in the foyer was always a great socializing area. Imagine the shock arriving last night for the symphony concert to find all the tables and chairs removed and replaced with sofas and arm chairs, I might add this furniture was very, very uncomfortable, nowhere to place your drink as the little round table was difficult to reach. I noted a number of people using the armchair rest to try and balance a glass or bottle. Do not think this lounge furniture will last very long in this very busy socializing area. Seating with this new set up is extremely limited. I certainly hope management will soon realise this new furniture is a no,no and replace with the old furniture, was not always comfortable but at least you could get a seat and a table to place your glass on bottle on. Last nights UCT Symphony concert was absolutely wonderful.
