Big open theatre with great acoustics and plenty of room for you to sit. Wheelchair friendly, hearing impaired help, nice variety of shows year-round and a great cafe to go with it. One of the best in Cape Town.

My friend and I drive to CPT on the Spur of the moment. On our way I phoned the Baxter Theater for tickets for the show. There were only a few tickets left right at the back. When we got there I was so lucky to get 2 tickets 7 rows from the stage. I love the theater. It's always clean and cosy. Heaters were burning in the foyer. The atmosphere is always very nice and you will bump into one or the other Celeb. There is always enough parking.

The entertainment presented is world class although the theatre building is starting to look a little tired and is long overdue for a make-over in my opinion. Reasonable food and drink prices make it worth a visit for an enjoyable evening.

Went to see Van Wyk and actor Zane Meas portrayed him amazingly. What an actor! They even stocked my favorite Milkstout. This being winter we were freezing. No air conditioners in the one Theatre. They had a few blankets out but not enough though. People were eating and talking during the performance though. That Was disturbing. Other than that the staff are all friendly and it is very neat and clean.

Marc Lottering show is highly recommended... A must see SA... embracing diversity... addressing societal changes in a lighthearted manner making us wonder whether these differences are really worth holding onto... Not so at all since it really nonsensical... Especially if love, care and respect should reign...

Baxter is great, however they need to start catering for older people. There are no lifts that take u up to the upper level of the theatre. Also there are no bathrooms there. I saw today a few very elderly ladies struggling walking down the stairs and after the show struggling up the stairs. Surely Baxter management should have started to think of assisting the elderly

After all these years there should be more restrooms. And some on different floors, levels. Ridiculous to stand in queues like that.

Overall show experience always good.

Top bar restaurant area should be kept open for after show chilling.

Once a month we experience top class entertainment at the Baxter Theatre for the princely sum of R32, next year will be R35. We are truly blessed to share this with so many other pensioners, provided by the management of the Baxter, thank you.

It's hard to admit, but for 4 years that we have been living in Cape Town, this was my husband's and mine first vist to the Baxter Theatre Centre. We went to see the opera "Don Pasquale" by Gaetano Donizetti and we liked it very much. Unbeknownst to us and despite the prevailing winter outside, the air conditioning was turned on, luckily I was prepared. The guarded car park is just outside the theatre and costs 10 ZAR, which is very convenient. In the theatre you will find all the usual amenities like toilets, a buffet etc. It also has an ATM and is wheelchair accessible. All you would expect from decent theatre and more!

Baxter Theatre is outstanding! I love the design of the roof or lights- and the natural flow of the building. What looks like a small theatre can hold up to 3- 4 shows at once. It truly is such a gem on the old main road of Rondebosch. The vegetarian buffet restaurant is honestly beyond delicious and so reasonably priced. The shows vary which is fantastic for families and friends alike0 because everyone is sure to find something!

Great show, Aunty Merle, it's a Girl!
There needs to be better indication of where lifts are so the elderly can access it with some ease, especially if they're being collected/dropped at the top entrance

Great place for shows, comedies, musicals and plays. I have especially enjoyed some of the family comedies as this is where I heard Trevor Noah for the first time, before he became an almost overnight success. We have had many work functions here over the years and it has good memories. Parking is a problem, but then I always arrive early to avoid frustration.

Auntie Merle it's a girl. Was absolutely fantastic well done Mark, the music was wow! The baxter however could do with a upgrade... It has a old civic center feel to it. The food is over priced and tasteless. With such amazing acts performing here, you guys need to step up your game.

Watching the show with some awesome friends was memorable. My girlfriends jumped and jived in their seats. As always the Theatre staff did their thing by accommodating our every whim. The restaurant however needs more staff, they cannot keep up....
