The battleship Missouri is one of the Icon of ww2 in the pacific, historically significant being the venue for the signing of the unconditional surrender of Japan. It is a beautiful piece of history a must see if your visiting Oahu island. Tour of the ship gives one a glimpse of the living condition of the sailors of this instrument of war.

We visited the U.S.S. Missouri bought in Combipaket for the visit Pearl Habors. From the visitor center you can get to the Aviation Museum with a free shuttle bus. The mere sight of the battleship is impressive. The feeling increases a lot when you stand on the huge deck under the gigantic cannon towers. The first lower deck with the wardroom and the associated accommodations, as well as the areas of ordinary sailors, kitchen, post office etc can also be visited. It shows, how cramped the sailors lived there. There is also a small exhibition on the history of the Missouri during World War II and the first Gulf War (!!!) and World War II in itself. I also found it positive that the role of the Japanese and German was also shown, albeit in an incisive but objective way. At the end of the visit, as usual, you can buy a photo set as a reminder, with part of the proceeds being used for the constant renovation and maintenance of the battleship.

This ship is worth far more than 5 stars, but I give the experience of touring it 4 stars only because so many areas were closed and off limits during construction/renovation/repair. I highly recommend coming to pay your respect and tribute to this historic icon and marvel of human engineering.

Very cool. The ship has been well preserved and maintained. As a mechanic, I was very disappointed to not be allowed in the engine room or the turret compartments, which I MO are by far the most interesting places to tour of a ship. Oh well. Still cool.

You can enjoy the battleship carefully, with unlimited photos. I will forget the time if I look at it while imagining that I have passed through numerous war results.
I came for an optional tour, but I had a good time including the museum and so on.

Very nice memorial. It started pouring as soon as we got on board so we spent most of our time below decks. The interior of the ship is set up similar to before it was decommissioned. There are ancient computers in some of the offices and the galleys appear to be from the 50's.

More than likely a chance to visit the uss Missouri or Hawaii itself will never be for me , but being a world war2 history buff and having a father who served on the uss charles carrol on d-day and the Sicily campaign I have nothing but the greatest respect for all who served on the mighty mo and all other us navy ships. They are all heroes!!

A great place to take the kids and family to learn a bit about the US involvement in WWII. As an Australian, this was a great touristy experience and one you don't often get. The ship is huge and almost all areas are accessible. You'll find yourself in awe at the big guns on deck, claustrophobic in the crew sleeping quarters, amazed at how well the canteen is fitted out and breathless once you climb your way to the top.

Definitely a good idea to organise this as part of your pearl harbour experience.

Great museum. Tour guides are very knowledgeable. They offer at least English and Japanese tours. Not sure if there are other languages available, but those two for sure. You are in the sun quite a bit, so plan for that.

My best and most memorable activity of Hawaii. If you love history and sites, please do what I didn't and dedicate a whole day to the entire pearl harbor memorial. There are so many things to read and see, a couple hours is not long enough!!!

As expected, it is overwhelmed by the size of a super-class battleship. A wonderful battleship that combines strength and beauty. You can learn the past history with your skin, so be sure to join the Japanese tour.

Not sure I can put the emotions into words. The facination was just part of the tour. The ability to touch a piece of such significant history, and to walk on the deck of where WWII ended, was amazing. Loved this tour.

I did a great job during the Hungnam withdrawal operation ...... and if there was no Missouri, there would not have been a present president.
As a Honolulu resident, if you come to Hawaii for a word, it is a place you have to stop by once.

I recommend taking the extended tour. It's not too expensive and they take you up into the gun turret, engine room, and fire control. Also, you get to walk around as much as you want after the tour.

Uplifting tour of this historic ship which hosted the event that ended WWII. The tour guide maintained an interesting narrative during the 40 minute tour with anecdotes about the fateful day and other related events. She also kept our interest with key facts about the ships history.

What an amazing piece of history. To be able to stand on the deck where the declaration was signed and to be able to hear all about the history of this amazing vessel, it is astonishing to learn that this ship was recommission after retirement twice to hear about everything she was involved in, this is something to not be missed.

Very moving experience everyone should experience at least once. The Arizona and the mighty Moe are reminders of the cost of war and the nation's determination to over come. Also the story of the boefin is a experience to be held.

The facility is as popular as the Arizona Memorial.
It is approximately one hour 30 minutes in the 20th of Zabus from Waikiki Beach
It's $ 5.50 if you use 1DAY PASS, so we recommend getting up early and leaving before 6 o'clock.

The battleship Missouri has been a model of the Japanese movie "Eternal 0" who became a model of Hisashi Miyabe, who was attacked off the coast of Okinawa

Below, from wikipedia
On the afternoon of April 11, a special attack aircraft (bombed zero battle) rushed to the starboard deck with low flight. The right wing of the rushing aircraft hit onto the third sub turret and ignited the fuel. Although the surface was slightly damaged, it was extinguished quickly. The mark of this attack still remains on the hull. A part of the plunge's pilot's body was recovered from the 40 mm gun seat and Missouri captain William Callaghan decided to honor the pilot in honor of naval-style water burial as completing his mission. . Although there was an objection from the crew members, the next day the captain of the ship held a water burial. Although the official name of this pilot was unknown for a long time, according to a survey of the Missouri Memorial Hall, it was revealed that it was Seto Ishino of the 5th Constructive Armed Force who dispatched the Kanoya Air Base (also rushed out at the same time) There is also the possibility of a 5th-Arashi squadron Ishii Kenji Yoshikao, who could not enter the plane was shot down by the anti-aircraft fire). Only one funeral took place on the ship.

Dreadful day in history. I wish the people visiting here had more reverence for those who died here. The anthem played and over 70 percent of the tourists just ignored it. They have no idea.

You could seriously spend an entire day exploring the Mighty Mo on your own. Dawn was our guide today and she absolutely rocked! So gutted that we only allocated an afternoon to the Missouri. Will definitely come to visit again and would recommend it wholeheartedly.
