Battleship Missouri Memorial is definitely a must ...

Battleship Missouri Memorial is definitely a must see for anybody visiting Honolulu. I find the history lesson invaluable to me. It is very important to know and understand the horrific cost of the peace that many of us now enjoy.

The battleship itself is like a small city on the sea. Of course if you ve visited the USS Midway Museum in San Diego then Missouri May seem less spectacular. Nevertheless, I am sure you will still enjoy the tour and will not regret visiting this place.

Wow, standing on the ship where the Japanese signed unconditionally to the USA, and the allied countries. The tour were very knowledgeable and fun as well. Really enjoyed the whole experience.

Sloveca was very informative and energetic. Supposed to be 30 minute presentation, I think she could have talked for 2 hours and have you asking for more! Plan extra time. Definite must see.

I have a love of ships and aircraft. The lady is kind of tired of it. This is the second time I have been on the Missouri. The first time she was in service. The tour was well planned well and looked it was still in development. Compared to the North Carolina or Midway it could use more development. Then again the ship hasn t been on display for very long.

I haven t been to the New Jersey, Wisconsin, or Iowa yet. The USS Massachusetts was a long time ago.

If in Oahu it is very much worth it to pay homage to the Arizona and Missouri. The air museum is a good visit too. Granted I have worked and studied this stuff all my life. For the layman or historically less versed this will be an eye opener for what our country can do.

Incredible to see and experience where WWII came to an end. Very good place to bring kids to understand more about history.

Was also neat to see the different pieces from WWII era as well as Desert Storm.

To be able to stand and take in the history is a great experience.

Was free for service members when I went. It's a really different experience since the ship can actually sail. The fact that it has a plaque commemorating the surrender is neat. Also they never fixed a dent from a kamikaze, that was something else to see. The ship is massive and it sitting right next to the Arizona is something you need to see in person.

Missouri is the first warship I visited. He is huge! Impressive! Great! This is the place where the Second World War ended! My grandfather died in this war, so it was absolutely necessary for me to visit this battleship. For the first time I saw the "insides" of a warship, the kitchen, the wardroom, and the study rooms. For me, all this was very interesting. Although I don t understand anything either in warships or in armament, it s simply impossible not to be delighted with all this! The tour consists of two parts, first with a guide on the deck, and then you can go downstairs yourself and wander around the inside. There are different levels of access, respectively, and different ticket prices. In May 2017, I took a ticket for $ 27, this price includes a bus to Missouri and back, half an hour with a guide, and an unlimited time for independent travel inside the ship.

Absolutely loved visiting here. We were with an outside tour company which really limited our time visiting. We could have easily spent a couple hours going through the entire ship, but were rushed to make it through in about 1.5 hours. Plan to stay for a couple hours if you want to get through everything.

Highly recommended. We need to remember and make our kids realize that world peace is never to be taken for granted. My youngest child asked "Mama, what is world war? Why is this ship called a battleship?" Her curiousity piqued, we explored together how we must never ever take world peace for granted. Also, that after so many lives lost during the war, history was made on USS Missouri as it was on her Captain's deck, "by the stroke of PENS, World War II finally ended." Words and educated understanding of the world restored and ensured peace and balance.

Part of our Pearl Harbor tour which was my favourite part of visiting Hawaii - along with shopping ;-) To be standing on the only battleship in the world & learning so much about its history was awesome! You can do self-guided tours around the ship or stroll around with a tour guide - your choice.

After we finished the Aviation Museum we got picked up and we were taken to the USS Missouri. Once our group was semi sort of together we we given to an English speaking tour guide Val, she was great by the way.
She walked us through the main deck of the "Mighty Mo" given us a lot of information of the Battleship, and it is best remembered as the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan which ended WWII on Sept 2nd 1945 in Tokyo Bay.
While we walked along the way you can see a dent just below the main deck level of the Missouri. It turns out a low flying Kamikaze hit it and only made very minimal damage. The remains of the pilot were recovered on board, the crew wanted to get rid over the side. But Captain Callaghan decided the young pilot had done his job to the best of his abilities, and with honor, so he should be given a military funeral. The next day he was buried at sea. Val informed us since they had no Japanese flags around, the crewmembers managed to find a way to make one before burying him at sea. You see the footprints made of where it was done.
After she concluded her part of the tour we were left to tour by ourselves, we were just told one thing " don't take pictures of (I can't remember which side of the ship lol) because that's still an active military base" So we climbed our short butts to the top deck to take some pictures lol of the side that we could.
This is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Great to walk the decks of history. From the Missouri you can look across and see the Arizona Memorial and present day ships. Check out the UAV that flew from the Missouri during the Gulf war in the Black Cat. You walk past the USS Oklahoma Memorial on the way to the Missouri.

Probably the best experience in Pearl Harbor. Especially liked the older tour guides who had stories to tell that were certainly not on the script. They readily answered all questions and had the answers to even most of the off the wall questions. They are knowlegablel about their ship and the part it played in three wars. They are able to tailer their tour to the audience in front of them.

Just finished the tour, the entire ship experience was great until we attempted to buy the sovenier pictures. We were going to buy the 50.00 package until cashier named Beth offered same package at 40.00 to another family, She asked them if they were military affiliate they said no, she then said I will still give it to ya'll at 40 00. I asked if I could have the same price for the same package, she then asked me if I was military affiliate, and I stated, no, therefore I had to pay full price 50.00. I didn't mind paying either price but I didn't think it was fair to quote them a different price even when they stated they were not military affiliated. At this point, I said I'm not paying either price. The only difference from that family to mine, was our race. Just making that clear. Uncomfortable and disappointed.
