Good to visit. I am ex Navy and have been on her before while in Sydney back in 1988. My only criticism is the ship is too restricted. Cant see why visitors cant go from fwd to aft on the main passageway it would make a world of difference to those who have no idea what life on a warship was like.

A Japanese audio set is included in the $ 27 entry fee, so you can tour using the audio set, but I think it is best to take a Japanese tour with a guide. The tour is about 40 minutes, but the explanation is substantial and it is very studying. The tour will go up to the battleship deck and tell you when your next tour is. There are also people who speak Japanese.

Bring a drink to avoid heat stroke. The deck is hot with little shade, but the inside is cool and cool.

Took a special guided tour to see the engine rooms etc. It was totally worth it! We spent the good part of a day just at the Missouri as it is so rich with history. Do not miss this one!

I felt a legitimate adrenalin rush being here. I couldn't believe that I was standing in such a piece of history.

The best part for me was to stand right where the peace treaty of world war II was signed. It felt like a dream to be here.

I enjoyed the other monuments in this area as well but it felt almost disrespectful to be happy at those memorials.

It was so nice to get to go through the Missouri and see how the sailors lived and worked. It was the highlight of my day.

A great place to visit history. We were only there on a bus tour for about an hour. Believe me, an hour doesn t come to anywhere near enough time to see the entire ship.
You have a guide for the first couple of stops commonly visited to explain the main highlights of the ship s history. Then, you have freedom to visiting the nooks and crannies open to visitors.
We went in on a tour bus, so I m not too familiar how difficult it s to access the ship.
The only issue I had was that the US flag on the bow was hanging by only one clip.
I recommend visiting this ship if at all possible. .

Very big ship with lots to see inside and out. If you take your time and just step back in the areas you go into you can picture the service members there put can never imagine the horrible events that went on that December morning.
Pics are from the Mess. I love those kitchens being an old Army cook. Ship pics on reg camera.

The USS Missouri (BB-63) ("Mighty Mo" or "Big Mo") is an Iowa-class battleship and the last battleship commissioned by the United States.
Your can walk around on your own, or take a guided tour, and see how the sailors lived and where they worked. You can also see the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan which ended World War II.

The "Mighty Mo" was an unforgettable masterpiece. With many historical sites, this ship is well worth the bucks.
Even if you do not enjoy the thought of spending your Hawaiian vacation at a giant metal war machine, this tour was meant for many audiences. Who wouldn't want to see where the Japanese surrender took place?

A fascinating journey in time, the "Mighty Mo," stands strong on the site of one of America's darkest hours. She represents the end of the conflict. Visitors stand on the deck at the precise spot where Japanese representatives surrendered as the Missouri rested in Tokyo Bay in September 1945. The ship has become a floating museum. Especially moving are the exhibits dealing with the sea battle of Okinawa and the fight with Kamikaze attacks. Letters from the Japanese pilot who died while crashing his plane aboard this ship may be seen, as well as the dent in the battleship's gunwales where his plane struck the ship's bulwarks.

Very impressive machine. Amazing power. Also very sad place to visit. All those lives taken. Certainly a place everyone should visit to remind us of the sacrifices our military make to protect us. Thanks to all of those who have served and still serve!!!!! They are doing renovations to the very upper decks but still access to most of the ship.

The USS Missouri is a nice example of a WW II battleship. During action in the Pacific, a kamikaze pilot struck the side of the ship. The dent in the hull from the plane is still in the hull. It was on the deck of the USS Missouri that the Japanese surrendered to the Allies. Over the years, the Missouri has deteriorated. However, it is partially restored and the restoration is continuing. It is already in a nice state for a visit. For me, learning about the kamikaze strike and the surrender made my visit worth the time and money.

Fantastic tour. After the initial information tour of the top deck of the ship, my husband and I toured the crew deck. The ship is massive. We kept walking from section to section and thought we were lost until we finally came to the exit stairway.

I took a taxi from the hotel to the base of the base, deposited my luggage, bought a ticket and took a shuttle bus to the anchorage of the battleship Missouri. It wasn't a tour, but I went around on my own, but when I entered, it would be high cheese! This is of course free to purchase. (Maybe, I thought I might stop here and prevent visitors from entering the ship at once.)

Of course, the inside of the ship to visit is small and there are steep stairs, so sneakers are definitely recommended for the pants.

After this, I went to the Pacific Aviation Museum. This is also convenient because you can take the shuttle bus.

We got a tour of the ship, prior to our dinner. Max seating is 300 for anyone planning parties here. It was magnificent. Having dinner on this historic ship is a moment I will treasure.

Tried to book a multi-site package through them. WARNING: An "audio tour" does *NOT* include the *ACTUAL* tour somehow. Called to complain when I got the confirmation that informed me of this and was cut off in the middle of speaking by the receptionist who was extraordinarily rude to me. She put me on hold and my wife answered when she came back because I was currently driving. My wife pointed out that it was unacceptable to be rude to a customer, which the receptionist thought was excused because she was "very busy". My wife told her she didn't care if the lady was busy, it was her job and started to yell at her because that was even more unacceptable of an excuse. Directly in the middle of my wife speaking, the woman just puts my wife on hold without another word and proceeded to disappear for about 10 minutes. When the phone was answered again, it was a manager who was very helpful and refunded our money since the package description was misleading. Rather than give them your money, look on Groupon. Their prices are better anyway and it's better not to give this company your money if you can avoid it.

I was a member of the 139th Medical Squadron ,139th Airlift Wing Missouri Air National Guard before it was opened for display. We volunteerd to help chip paint for repainting. We also brought, from the Truman museum, the China set used when the peace treaty with Japan was signed! We also provided an honor guard for the opening at Pearl Harbor.

I was on this mighty battleship in 1984 while stationed at Hickam Air Force Base, before she saw her final battle in Operation Desert Storm. It is a true workmanship of older American strength and a great tour if you can handle the walking. Make sure you have good walking shoes with gel soles.
