Our guide was very informative and passionate to share the details and history of the USS Missouri Battleship. A couple of fellow tourists tried to stump him with trivial questions. However, our guide was quick to answer with confidence. I would definitely love to visit HAWAII again and spend more time learning and absorbing the Pearl Harbor Memorial!

I would recommend traveler to be there earlier in the morning because there are too many things to see! Well at least for me and those curious baby who love history. The battleship is huge and if you reach there early, you can visit all the sites at the memorial park. I feel so wasted for not having extra time to explore. And the park ranger are all so helpful!

It is a battleship that has a close relationship with Japan that was used for the Okinawa war and the end of the war. I miss the silhouette that is not present in the current escort ship. It was worth watching.

At last the repair of the bridge part is over
It is possible to go around from this week
Half a year later than scheduled for ending September last year
But I think it's cooler.

Went to Pearl Harbor twice in a week to see the Arizona...both times the Arizona was shut down due to high winds. We decided to take the shuttle to Ford Island on the second trip and see the Missouri; best experience, on Oahu, hands down. Take the 30 minute guided tour; the guides are a wealth of knowledge. The tour takes a little over 2 hours so take water with you. Lots of going up and down stairs.

Hallowed grounds. With the USS ARIZONA off the bow and USS OKLAHOMA and UTAH memorials near. It is hard to fathom the devastation that once played out in this tropical paridise. The beautiful clear blue waters of Pearl Harbor and the cloud covered Wai'anae Mountain Range in the distance provide stark contrast.

Tour guide was awesome for the main deck. Told us a lot of history about the ship. Everyone onboard was super friendly and smiling. We did a self guided tour for the rest of the ship and that was pretty cool. Wish we had more time, we only had about 2-3 hours there.

If you come to Oahu and don't see this, you are really missing out. It is fascinating to see how sailors lived day to day aboard the ship. The end of the war that killed more people than any other in history ended aboard this ship.

Really neat to see first hand. You cannot fathom the true size of these boats till you are standing next to it.
The volunteers were all knowledgable and helpful
Some of the stairs were steep and would not recommend it for people with mobility issues

It was a trip back in time. Amazing to be able to see this amazing ship and hear the stories of the sailors and the ship and the war. Thanks to all the volunteers that make it possible and to the veterans that served.

The views of the island from the ship alone are worth the trip. It is a privilege to get to see where World War II finally ended. The ship is still very well maintained. The staff that worked there giving tour had a lot of good information. There was also a gift shop and a canteen for drinks at the beginning of the tour area.

About Battleship Missouri Memorial

The Battleship Missouri Memorial is a historical landmark that rests in the heart of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. It is a popular tourist destination that offers activities and tours to visitors from across the world. The memorial is dedicated to preserving the legacy of one of America's most iconic battleships, the USS Missouri.

The USS Missouri was commissioned in 1944 and played a significant role in World War II, serving as the site where Japan officially surrendered to Allied forces on September 2nd, 1945. The ship also served during the Korean War and Operation Desert Storm before being decommissioned in 1992.

Today, visitors can explore this historic vessel through guided tours or self-guided audio tours. The Battleship Missouri Memorial offers several tour options including a basic tour which covers all nine decks of the ship and highlights its history and significance. Visitors can also opt for an extended tour which includes access to areas not typically open to the public such as officer quarters and engine rooms.

In addition to touring the ship itself, visitors can also explore exhibits located throughout the memorial grounds which showcase artifacts from World War II including uniforms, weapons, photographs, and personal items belonging to crew members who served aboard USS Missouri.

For those interested in experiencing what life was like aboard this legendary battleship firsthand, overnight encampments are available for groups ranging from youth organizations to corporate team-building events. Participants sleep on board in bunks similar to those used by sailors during WWII while participating in educational programs designed around naval history.

The Battleship Missouri Memorial also hosts several special events throughout the year including ceremonies commemorating important dates such as Pearl Harbor Day (December 7th) or Veterans Day (November 11th). These events offer visitors an opportunity to pay their respects while learning more about America's military history.

Overall, visiting The Battleship Missouri Memorial is an unforgettable experience that provides insight into one of America's most significant military vessels while honoring those who served aboard her. With its rich history and unique offerings for tourists of all ages it has become one of Hawaii's top attractions attracting thousands each year making it a must-visit destination when traveling through Hawaii!
