The USS Missouri is a nice example of a WW II battleship. During action in the Pacific, a kamikaze pilot struck the side of the ship. The dent in the hull from the plane is still in the hull. It was on the deck of the USS Missouri that the Japanese surrendered to the Allies. Over the years, the Missouri has deteriorated. However, it is partially restored and the restoration is continuing. It is already in a nice state for a visit. For me, learning about the kamikaze strike and the surrender made my visit worth the time and money.
