Simon Watson Review of Bather's Pavilion

We arrived mid morning for brunch and although it was busy, were seated by a friendly waitress. The brow out over the bay was nice (pictured).
There was a specific breakfast menu on offer and it looked to have plenty of original twists on the usual breakfast dishes. The menu was a little pricey but not too bad for fancy pants Balmoral beach.
I went with the asparagus and bree omelette (pictured half eaten). It came with a house made hash brown and was pretty tasty. Others in my party ordered the pancakes and it was an early good sign that the maple syrup was the real stuff rather than the sugary flavoured stuff and it was served in a generous portion. Also the pancakes had just a hint of rose water which worked a treat.
Overall the meal was well put together and the kitchen clearly knows what they are doing.
All in all, I would recommend this place for breakfast, at least, if you are in the neighbourhood. I'd also be keen to see how the evening menu pans out too.
