Cold and undergoing a major renovation for underfloor heating

Well worth a look inside and the tower climb is definitely worth it.

Lovely Abbey with clean stone outside and. Ice condition inside. The choir (not resident but fairly good) and the fantastic organ and organist, Peter King, is a great asset.

Don't like the way going for a visit requires an oblatory payment - all rather commercial, and if you're going I for a service or for some time of reflection you basically have to explain and assumed to be a tourist. Feels the wrong way around.

The town is quaint. The baths in its day were great . I would tell myfriends to pass

The ceiling with fan-shaped vaults looks like a lace! The section behind the altar is original (currently involved in renovating the paving).
You can also climb the tower facing about 200 steps. Tickets can be purchased in the Abbey Shops.

Very old and very beautiful. It's made of stone it can resist worst weather in england.

Beautiful piece of architecture in the heart of a beautiful city. Lovely staff inside and a nice quiet rest from the hustle and bustle.

Outside of the building is spectacular to see. But inside isn't so great, staff very pushy in trying to get money from us. Very dull themed inside.

The church was created in the seventh century, reorganized in the tenth century and then reformed and rebuilt some other times during the course of history. It was built in cross format. The stained glass windows are obviously huge and very colorful. It is within walking distance of the Roman Baths.

Beautiful building from the outside, with little cafe's and outdoor seating to sit back, watch the world go by, and admire the view. Unfortunately didn't get inside as currently being renovated (Dec 19)

Bath has an amazing aura ....the Abbey embraces the visitor with warmth and knowledge...We loved the experience!

A building without a doubt singular and with an impressive construction. I am not an art expert or connoisseur, but it is exciting to see the dimensions of the Abbey from within and the size and level of its stained glass windows. From the outside it is also spectacular for all the construction elements it uses, but from the inside it is indescribable. The entrance is free, they only ask for a donation that is not obligatory.

Beautiful building. A lot of history & detail from the exterior to stained glass & organ inside. It's right in the center & a quick visit. Might as well step in.

As from all parts of Christian Europe the best works of art and architecture can be found in sacred places, and this Abbey is an example of this

Wonderful place to visit, shame about the ugly uncomfortable seats. Hope it's just while the work is going on and the beautiful pews return.

The three young tour guides were very informative & very entertaining with it, & the view from the tower roof well worth the climb.

Great Abbey. Renovation when we visited but still impressive

A beautiful church located in the heart of the town of Bath next to the Roman Baths.

I understand historicity, sublime, wonderful gothic architecture. However, if a man on the Internet does not read anything about this place himself, he will not learn anything.

In the norm but the absurdity that x enter a church you have to pay 4 pounds

If you are able, do do the roof top your.
Walking up through the bell chambers is amazing as are the views from the tower.
The tour guides are young and fun with a great passion for the abbey and its visitors.

Beautiful place, picturesque and well looked after in a lovely location with lots to see and do.

The architecture is of a magnitude that cannot be described in words, each detail fits perfectly in this building, forming a whole. God sends people inspiration to do such works .. wonderful!

Although my stay in the western part of England was really short, I am very happy with the enjoyable visit I could make there. One of them was the Bath Abbey.

Worth the visit if you re nearby but surely you will have seen better of this architecture elsewhere in England

Highly recommend the tower climb. Very impressive and interesting. Ask about the heating system.

Nice cathedral. It is set up to practically force you to make a 4 pound donation to enter. You can also climb to the top for an additional fee. There was some construction in the center of the abbey so that was a bit of a bummer

Beautiful architecture and history, plus tours of the Abbey take you behind the scenes. You have to pay for the tour but it's worth every penny.

An old church. Didn't think it was anything special.

Awesome!!! The baths are super cool, much more to see, the museum is super informative. It's crazy the way they warmed the water back then. The statues of Caesar and other Roman figures around the bath ste awesome. The whole place is just super cool. Great views of the cathedral from the bath! Def worth a visit!

Lovely architecture as expected, though was a very quick visit probably about 10-15 minutes as not much to see. Still a nice place to visit.

Abbey in the center of Bath, really beautiful and well kept. The city is also beautiful

Cool Abbey. If your checking out the Roman baths you might as well walk over the the Abbey and give it a look.

The entry was free but it's worth to leave some donation at the front desk, staff very friendly and paper guides available in many, many languages.

Love this place so peaceful for sitting quietly and contemplating your thoughts

Nice church, however, if you ve been barraged by churches in your trip you can skip the inside of this one: it s nice to look at like all of the other churches you ve might of seen in your trip.

Bath is an amazing town to visit. One of the most beautiful places in the UK

Fascinating place. Loved the vaulted ceilings, stained glass, and altar fronts. The organ also very impressive but sadly recitals now over for this year. Must come back next year.

Beautiful architecture. Felt a little bit geared towards getting us to walk around the shop but otherwise a nice day trip.
