We traveled from South Jersey and paid top dollars to play on the lousy Town of Brookhaven Fields. Grass in the outfield was uncut and my son in the left field had a SNAKE crawl over his feet! Scheduling of games was done without giving any thought to the traveling teams. My husband who is the assistant coach of our team was frustrated dealing with an arrogant manager - Chris Z in the Baseball Heaven office. It is a shame they hire foul language speaking staff who thinks himself to be always right. Avoid Baseball Heaven - it is run poorly.

Is it too much to ask to have the scorekeepers d
o their jobs? I am guessing they can afford to pay their
employees based on the $$ they rake in from concessions and admittance fees.

Paid $1500 for our Pennsylvania team to play in a Baseball Heaven tournament. We got one game at Baseball Heaven. Another at Fireman Field which was alright. Now we are at a field behind Samoset middle school on the worst field we have seen in 7 years of tournament baseball. They haven't even raked the field. There is clover everywhere. The kids are calling it the Sandlot. Don't waste your money on Baseball Heaven.

Here's the deal - the facility is great. But I would advise against coming to tournaments here for now. The way they schedule the games is not good. For example - we have a 8 am game tomorrow. That means kids are getting up at 4:30 am to get there. Not the freshest to play baseball. The next series of games after 8 am is 12:30. So there is a 2:30 open block -- the kids could have slept. They don't schedule with who is commuting and from where in mind. Also - they don't provide water in the dugouts for the kids - and no coolers allowed in - water is $3 a bottle. Ripken provides water and Gatorade. Score boards don't all work either. Ripken has a scorekeeper and announcer. If you ate playing 60/90 expect to play at a satellite field. There are better baseball facilities (Ripken/Diamond Nation)- I would look else where.

Nice fields. Umpires do too many games in a day and are terrible. $5 entrance fee and overpriced concessions. Scoreboards are always wrong because kids running them. Getting a bit dated. Entrance has Tommy Lasorda all over it. Kids have no idea who he is.

Team Steel has the worst coaching. Coaches have no interest in teaching the boys. My grandson hated playing on Team Steel 14 U Gray this year in Summer. There was no outdoor practices. The Team lost all the tournaments. It was a big mistake to join Baseball Heaven Team Steel.

It is a beautiful facility. But we were only scheduled to play 1 game at bbh. Other 2 games were played at high schools with no concession stands or bathrooms. Another was a hike from parking lot with no shade, bathrooms. The field wasnt even lined. So team paid $950 for one game at bbh and 2 in not so nice high schools. Rip off. Initially, only 12 team max yet went to 24 teams . They cant accomodate all thegames.

Would not give this place a dollar again. Worst experience in baseball ever. All of those 5 stars have to be from staff because this place is awful. We had one game onsite and the field behind the school was almost unplayable. Could of stayed home and played local games with more competition. The home field advantage for the steel team is a joke. If we didn t hit 7 Homeruns to take the game out of the umpires hands we would have surely lost. Never seen so many walks awarded on obvious strikes. 15 walks were awarded to steel when are pitcher have not walked more then 4 batters in a game in there careers. If I could give less then one I would.

Team Steel coaches do not hold weekly practices. My coach is extremely lazy and never holds outside practice. We had few indoor batting cage practices during Spring and Summer. During indoor batting practice the coach didn t point our mistakes. Team Steel s main agenda is to rob money from parents. Everything is overpriced here - $3 for a bottle of drink- even for its own players. Players and their families don t get any discount.

My son played on 14U GRAY this year. Coach tried hard, but management did not provide him with the fields to hold practices. None of the teams in Baseball Heaven Practice. I dont' recommend Baseball Heaven to any one.

Awesome place to play baseball. We have travelled all over for tournaments and the place is one of the best on the east coast. Their summer leagues & tournaments tend to attract the best youth travel teams on LI.

Overall, very disappointed with the experience. They had 12 s playing on the smaller fields and younger kids playing in the big diamonds with make shift fences that have bases and base paths on the green in front of the dirt for bases which messed the kids up. In the outfield, based on the set up the kids were confused on how far they were based on lines of the infield being different. The fence had a 4 foot gap all of the way around so any hit was an automatic ground rule double which is a joke for the amount of money paid. Then the rules buried the dimensions being a 46x 65 which is unheard of ( 46/60 then 50/70 which their 50/70 is actually 51/75????) which led to a terrible experience. Not worth the money and would not recommend. Also, the service handling the facility was very smug and gave our coach an attitude. Clearly they do this to have their own team have a sizable advantage so they can win.

They charge 5 dollars a person to see your kids tournament games, also no coolers or outside food allowed.
Heard them tell somebody questioning at the gate, they said it's a private facility so they charge.
Fields are nice, regular season games have no door charge.
Have seen some very questionable calls from their umpires, especially when playing team Steele.
That being said we've seen some very fair umps also.
Guess you don't bite the hand that feeds you.
Facility is clean, indoor and outdoor cages.
Food is good nice selection.

Baseball heaven has a nice facility but that s where it stops. The umpires are terrible! Paying $5 per person each day to watch your child play is ridiculous! And it s on top of the already exorbitant price the team pays play there. You have to buy their water because no outside food or drinks are allowed in. And even worse, our team had an issue and the management REFUSED to speak with out coach or parents. He stated call back on Monday , well Monday we don t have a problem, Saturday we did. I wish in my job I could just refuse to deal with problems. But unfortunately that s not how the real world works... unless you are management at BH. Not going back!

Baseball heaven is really nice and their feilds have real dugouts and are turf. You dont always get to play there though because there are sometimes 50 teams in a tournament. You almost slways play at bbh if you are on one of their teams like me. I am on 13u team steel

We stopped briefly to see friends who were marooned at a turnament. Not much nearby, so hard to leave for a quick bite. But the Tommy Lasorda cafe made good (and cheap) pancakes and bacon. No nothing about baseball facilities though. Probably a three star rating, but pancakes were goooood.

Love these fields. Has HICast cameras at each field so you can look back at your games and even record clips (all attached photos are from these cameras). The turf is great, the dugouts are spacious, and there are bullpens for the pitchers which is really hard to come by at many fields near me in NYC. Only complaint is that the lights are low so any fly ball above them becomes impossible to track so you better learn to read it off the bat. Much better than Diamond Nation especially for parents because there is no entry fee. Enjoy some pictures I took of the field from my games.

My son played baseball on Team Steel. We had zero practices and zero player development. The team coach told us that Frank Zitaglio rents out fields to outside organizations like Catholic Schools and for college games etc. During summer my son s team played in low ranked Brookhaven League. My son lost confidence in himself due to poor and nasty behavior of the team coach who is an arrogant and filthy man (everyone on our team knew he doesn t wash hands after going to the bathroom). Team Steel is a day light robber of your hard earned dollars. I hope ownership will pay more attention and fire the arrogant and nasty coaches who after every game try to sell private lessons. This coach sits like a statue during all the games and never guide the boys. Stay away from Team Steel if you want your children to play in college. Shame of Frank Zitaglio to destroy Baseball Heaven.

Baseball Heaven's foundation is based on lies and deceiving people. Before my dad paid for 13U Baseball, we met with the General Manager and Coach in the cafeteria. They both lied on all our faces- about 24 parents and 14 players. They told us that out door practices are held every week followed by indoor hitting practice. Truth is WE HAD ZERO outdoor practice and two indoor hitting practice. Our coach never guided us or helped improve our game. Most of us left after wasting over $2,500 and 1 precious year. I play on my school team and with another club that holds weekly practices. Baseball Heaven and Team Steel cheat people.

Would ve enjoyed my son s 16u tournament if you hadn t charged me $5 a day to watch him get creamed by an 18u team. If BH management had any conscience, you would ve given the ONE 18u team their money back and apologized for the lack of interest in their division. Instead you chose to make four 16u teams play a team of high school graduates. Always will be all about the almighty dollar, won t it?

It is a House of Horror of Baseball which continues to grow on lies, deceits and coverups. Honesty and integrity has no place here. Many parents are concerned because trainers and coaches protect one another, but not the youth getting training, Very sad state of affair. Please be careful and watch over the young ones you love and care about.

Spend thousands for a tournament... buy a 26$ hat forgot to use my 5$ coupon. Get back in line ask to use my coupon. Nope I can't. Ok I'll return the hat.. Can't return the hat. Ok I'll go off sight to eat and drink and I won't buy more merchandise. I don't recommend this place for a tournament. 2 years in a row not worth coming from out of state to deal with this. And be scheduled 3 night games in a row.

My son played on the original Team Steel 11u and 12U in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The team s coach was a nasty man and was good friends with Frank Zitaglio. My numerous complaints to Frank Zitaglio fell on deaf ears. In August 2017, the Team Steel coach physically attacked one of the parent ( dad) in the Team Steel Indoor Facility in front of other Team Steel Coaches and many players and parents. There was blood everywhere. Few of us called the local police department and filed criminal charges against the coach. Everything was also recorded on the CCTV. My son still gets nightmares of that evening filled with blood. Team Steel is a corrupt organization. Teams do not hold practices and if parents complain they get beaten by the coach. If Team Steel s owners want the list of eye witnesses I can provide to them the names and phone numbers.

I had a bad taste in my mouth from the beginning. We recently played in a 10u tournament and had an awful experience. We came down from RI expecting to play in a great competitive tourney. I have to say that the competition was great but it was the rules, league setup and communication that i have the issue with. Typically at the 10u level the field dimensions are 46 mound and 60ft base paths but the baseball heaven field is 46 and 65. Also typically at the 10u level they do not call balks they do not allow leading and they do not allow dropped 3rd strikes. It wasn't until the morning of the tournament that we found out that this is not the case. Needless to say we had a 1 hr crash course on throwing from the stertch, leading, etc which put us at a great disadvantage from the beginning. I would not have had an issue with this if I had known about this 3 months ago but they bury this info 15 pages down in the rules. This should be the first rule as the rest of New England does not play it this way. Secondly we played on a field in the complex that had a make shift fence with a 12inch gap at the bottom of it. I have never seen so many ground rule doubles. Overall the facility was in great shape. It was for the reason that I gave this place a 1 star. For the amount of money you spend to go to this tournament we should know the rules that differ from the rest of the northeast.

Thanks

Brad

Team Steel and Baseball Heaven are not safe place for your children to play. Please be ultra careful. Few of their baseball coaches talk inappropriate stuff with the kids. Some of the parents also get involved and help as assistant coaches ( without any background check) and help in scheduling, maintaining book and help during batting practice. Team Steel do not practice either. Team Steel is managed poorly. It is sad that the ownership doesn t understand the importance of safety of our children.

Although a great facility there is obvious hometown favoritism. The umpires catered to the hometown team and when opposing team was winning on several occasions the umpires sides with the wrong call. It is one thing to be out played but it is another thing to be sabotaged! Do not go if you are not from Long Island!!!

What an amazing experience for the team. The facility is great. If you love baseball, you will love Baseball Heaven. The fields are all turf. The dugouts make the kids feel like they are in the big league. I'm sure the place gets pretty busy in the summer. We were there for a pre season tournament.

I am disappointed with Baseball Heaven and Team Steel. I paid them in full for my son; however, this place doesn't hold practices. I played D1 baseball and I know what it takes to improve a player. Baseball Heaven / Team Steel coaches lack that mindset. It is just another commercial baseball facility whose main aim is to maximize their profit by cutting corners. It is a shame.
