Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro Reviews

Came here several months ago for a celebratory dinner. While the ambiance and service are always amazing here, the food was a let-down this time. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and it was so dry! I can get a rotisserie chicken at Whole Foods for $9 that is moist and delicious. Very disappointing to spend $26 on an entree at such a fine restaurant and to have it be so mediocre. My husband had the trout, which he said was tasty, but the "sides" it came with (potatoes) were so scant that he was still hungry afterwards. With such steep prices, you really shouldn't leave a place like Bartalotta's feeling hungry.

On the plus side, our waitress was lovely. She gave us sorbet on the house after it turned out that they had run out of the original dessert I wanted. The sorbet was delicious. Another plus: I have a dietary restriction, and my dish came out with a toothpick marked "allergy." I really appreciate this as it gave me confidence that the kitchen actually adhered to my dietary restriction.

A very special restaurant, great food, service and ambiance. Expensive but worth it.

The food is really good and there is a nice view of lake Michigan. We were there when they had the air show so while we ate you were able to see Jets and planes fly but with a beautiful view of the lake

Exquisite true French cuisine, prepared perfectly. However, there the "French" experience stopped. The service was very mediocre, much like one finds in American chain restaurants (e.g. Olive Garden). The waitress was young, inexperienced, abrupt, and seemed in a hurry to have us finish and make room for the next diner. The waitress did not know much about wine and there was no wine steward available, so I had to make my own judgments as to their wine list.

Mussels and frites at the bar with a glass of wine is one of my favorite things to do in this unique restaurant in the middle of lake park! The downstairs is a public park space, lawn bowling is just outside and the atmosphere inside is More

My girlfriend and I had reservations for 7 on a Thursday night for our anniversary. We arrived about ten minutes early, were immediately seated and they had a card with a nice message pertaining to our anniversary on it. Our servers were very nice, prompt, and very prepared. We never went more than a few minutes between the bread, appetizer, main, and dessert, which were all quite excellent. For our anniversary they gave us a complimentary dessert and drinks, which was very nice, and all of our servers congratulated us. The prices were high, but not surprisingly so, and the view as well as the ambience was quite pleasant.

Lovely place, service, menu, food, wine... Always a great experience to return to. Top 3 things I miss from WI after moving to Scottsdale.

If I could give 100 stars, I would! I tried prix fix menu with wine and my socks were blown off so hard, said socks are probably orbiting Jupiter. The soft shell crab was 12/10. It came with the bunch of French words I didn't understand, but the result was unbelievable. The pan-seared fish was great with chewy farro and tiny chilies that tasted like banana peppers who went to Yale.
Prix fix comes with 3 glasses of wine and they were anything but random. They progressed from full-bodied, to dry to dessert wine. This was a culinary experience with capital C. I am very fortunate.

Always delicious food and excellent service. I'd recommend the foie gras and steak frites.

Really enjoyed our visit here. We came here for the annual fall mushroom dinner and got to taste a great spread of delicacies and unique mushrooms. We enjoyed about 18 different mushrooms blended into our 6 course meals paired with wine! Everything was delicious.

This was our first time here and glad we decided to be here to enjoy the special evening. We got seated right away and the staff were so polite. We also had some food restrictions and our server attended to us right away addressing that. He just made us feel very comfortable and ensured us that the request has been taken care off.

We visited here for dinner but I would love to visit here again during the day because based on the location, it overlooks the beautiful Lake Michigan and I can only imagine how gorgeous the view would be from the hill top! It's an upscale restaurant and is great for special occasions! They offer a lot of speciality themed dinners (just like the mushroom one) so I would really recommend joining in for one of those if you get a chance! It's awesome :)

Lake Park Bistro, like its cousin, the Harbor House gets 2 stars just for its location, views of lake. It is located on the bluff looking over Lake Michigan. So it really only needs 3 more stars to get 5. But the Bistro would get 5 without the views based on the consistently excellent quality of the food and presentation. If you are new to or visiting the area try Lunch and request a window table where the views enhance the experience. At night, the interior seating is nicer and cozier. The wine list is comprehensive and contains enough reasonably priced bottles to avoid the big ticket. Cocktails are very good. Check it out. There are only a few places in the area that offer unique relationships to the local geography.

This is a GREAT place for a walk whether it's to exercise or sight-see. You will NOT be disappointed.

Superbly prepared faux gras and Maine cod. Butternut squash soup was a treat with a few tart cherries and toasted pumpkin seeds.

Went to celebrate my fiance's 35th birthday. I was a little late but they were just as nice. They made him a card and gave a birthday dessert, which I didn't expect at such a nice restaurant. Highly recommend the cheese plate! The steak he had was delicious! Im definitely returning!

Impeccable food, atmosphere, and service. Wonderful place for a special evening. The entire restaurant is beautiful and romantic. If you can get a table next to the window, the views are wonderful. Highly recommend the chef's menu of the day with wine pairing. Follow with a stroll through Lake Park.

Of all of their restaurants, Lake Park Bistro is our favorite! My wife and I love the atmosphere and wine selection. The food choices, especially the specials, make deciding what to order difficult, however, when your meal is served, you'll be happy with what you ordered.

We had Sunday brunch here. It was a bright, sunny day in October, and the view was spectacular out over Lake Michigan. The food was spectacular as well!!

The brunch is my favorite time to come here. Every single menu item is top notch, especially the Eggs Benedict and Waffles! The views are spectacular! The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is because I heard the chef screaming insults at a staff member on the way out. What a horrible way to end a wonderful meal.

Wonderful Restaurant with Beautifula View of Lake Michigan
What a wonderful restaurant this is! I was in Milwaukee for business and this restaurant was recommended to me - every aspect of my visit was just perfect. I was seated in the rear room which is sort of like a sun room. This area would be the prime location when it is light enough to enjoy the gorgeous lake view - if you are dining when it is dark outside the other room would be just as nice. The neighborhood you drive through to reach the restaurant is a beautiful residential neighborhood - I loved looking at all the stately homes. The menu is sort of French, but not in a fussy way. I ordered the Steak Frites - it was delicious and served just as ordered: medium. Service was informed and excellent. Wine list is excellent. Prices are on the higher side but completely in-line with quality and ambiance.

This is a suberb restaurant offering the best food, & service.

Great Brunch spot on the bluffs looking out to Lake Michigan. I may be partial because my fiance proposed out on the terrace :)

Went here for my wife's birthday and we loved it! Great choice. The service was excellent. Our server, Alex, did everything he could to make the night perfect and recommended great food. I had the duck breast and my wife had the ribeye, which were both phenomenal. If you go I'd recommend asking for Alex to serve you. The ambiance is fantastic and the prices aren't actually too bad. If you have a special occasion I highly recommend going to Lake Park Bistro

Lake Park Bistro is the perfect choice for a fancy splurge. We have often come here for celebratory dinners and brunches; everywhere from a group dinner for a friend's birthday, a family gathering to celebrate graduation and a brunch with my husband for our wedding anniversary - this is the place to celebrate.

To start with, the ambiance and the location are fantastic. The windows overlook the lake and the restaurant itself is set back in one of the most beautiful parks Milwaukee has to offer, Lake Park. Fun fact: Lake Park was designed by the same man who designed Central Park in NYC, Frederick Law Olmsted. Simply gorgeous!

Though everything on the menu is a bit pricey, as one would expect for a restaurant of this caliber, you are definitely going to get quality. And if you really want to save a bit, you can always fill up on the baguette slices they bring around to the table. They have a couple vegetarian entrees (lentils and a gnocchi) and they have great salads and often a vegetarian soup. As for drinks, I really enjoy getting there early for my reservation (do make a reservation!) to enjoy a cocktail at their bar. Their wine selection is also wonderful, but of course on the higher end price wise.

At all the special occasions we've attended, they have had a special treat for the person being celebrated (for instance, free mimosas for our wedding anniversary) and a handwritten card, which is a darling touch. The waitstaff has always been very professional and put together. Overall, just a lovely place to indulge and celebrate with friends and family.

Always good and no surprise! food was very good. We had set brunch menu with 3 courses and they were delicious. Server was on top of all and food came pretty quickly and good. Steak and eggs was good also portion was filling. My wife's crab benedict was very good and eggs was perfect on top.

My wife and I dined here for our first wedding anniversary. When I called to reserve a window table, I was informed there were no guarantees as those are the first to fill up, but that they would write us in. When we arrived five minutes early, we were not only given a wonderful window table right away, but also a card thanking us for dining with them and congratulating us on our anniversary. The two-hour long meal was amazing, from the wine to the hors d oeuvres to the main dishes. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the staff overall was very attentive despite having a full house on a weekend evening. We were even gifted a dessert (alongside the one we ordered)! Once we save up for a nice meal out again we will definitely be back here.

Very pleasant location overlooking Lake Michigan. Food is well prepared. Bar well stocked .. little pricey. Staff is welcoming and attentive to your needs. Overall experience was enjoyable, but expect to pay more for this.

Wow, you did it again!! You gave me a wonderful experience catering my wedding and now a wonderful experience for my 1 year wedding anniversary. You have exceeded my expectations twice now. Your staff, food, atmosphere etc, was just amazing and I felt absolutely spoiled. Loved it, keep it up! :)

Last time we were there the wait staff came across very rude. The food was OK. Compared to the other Bartolotta's restaurants this one didn't produce the "WOW" factor we have become accustom.

I had an amazing time at Lake Park Bistro. My coworkers and I attended the all duck dinner to celebrate and entertain a guest. Everyone had an amazing experience with the food and the service. Even as a high end dining experience, we felt comfortable and welcomed. I will definitely be back.

This place is AMAZING!! I Had the brunch special which is 3 courses. Had the cream of asparagus soup which was to die for. Then eggs Benedict with spinach and crab. Mmmm. Will finish with custard. I'll be back. Plus I didn't have to wait for anything!!

Had a thoroughly enjoyable luncheon with friends, and service was both attentive and unobtrusive -- a lovely combination I do not take for granted. It was also nice to recognize others from my neighborhood whom I had not seen in a while. My salad was really good and its tuna steak was perfectly done.

For those seeking the familiar in a clubby atmosphere, Lake Park Bistro is the place. In fact, many tables were greeted by staff as regulars, some asked why they missed the previous week or why they were coming in an hour later on this date.

As a somewhat infrequent visitor, I was less impressed by the lack of change or the clubby vibe.
