Barona Resort & Casino Review

Our favorite casino. Love the large areas of non smoking. We also enjoy the slot machines called "27 ways", please keep them.Food everywhere is great! Overall a great casino

Barona Casino has a pleasant atmosphere and offers great customer service. During COVID they have installed a good number of safety precautions: temperatures taken before entry, masks required, social distancing at game tables and slots and hand sanitizer/wipes stations everywhere throughout the casino. The food court is open which offers a nice variety of foods. And no smoking anywhere which is a practice that should be kept after COVID.

Only complaint is the large increase during the last couple of months of a minimum bet on roulette - from $10 to $25! Barona seems to be making up for losses of less people at tables by increasing the minimum of each bet, which eliminates loyal customers that now can't afford such a large increase. When COVID passes Barona should reduce the high minimum bets for those that support casinos and now can't afford. We will be going to Baron less because of it.

Cuz they're serious about keeping u as safe as possible. Bringing home a little money for a change

Nice casino and always crowded! The new lobby and food court become bigger and roomy after remodel! Bathrooms are very good.

I was very disappointed, and left with an uneasy feeling. 3x's I inserted, 3 100.00 dollars bills, into the slot machine, the machine automatically spin on it's own, around every 3 second. There were 4-5 staff that witnessed it. I feel that I didn't receive my full refund. The staff seemed unsure on how much I was owed. Would you please review your records and the machine. I spend quite a bit of money. I don't want to think that the machine is designed for inappropriate reasons.

Last time I was here the casino was a huge circus style tent, now it's a really nice resort with a great buffet. Tons of crab legs if you like them cold.

i love the casino staff that are able to cash out tickets from the slot machines so you don't have too look for a kiosk

It is a wonderful Casino my host Joseph Payne is wonderful and Roman one of the food servers on the floor is excellent and my friend Pac-Man is awesome! and I will never ever forget Pam slot supervisor she is so awesome I love them all when they say welcome home when you walk through that door and see how they make you feel and I always have fun there. Excellent food & fantastic customer service. We ate at the Plaza Grill next door to the steak house. I had the poke bowl which was really good. My mom had the lobster roll and thought it was very good. The clam chowder bowl was good but left my son was left hungry (after being told it was a lot of food). The Rueben sandwiches, I'm told (by my nephew & bro in law), were excellent... not too gloppy but not too dry either... pickle was on point.

Was super fun to go play for a bday outing. The girl played 20$ and walked out with 290! Will definitely be going back. Seems clean n safe

The Buffet was the bomb, they had everything you can thimk of. The machines are very loose. Definitely coming back.

I have been going here since I was 21 and my mom has been going before when they were just tents! Every staff there is kind and courteous! The buffet on Wed nights are AMAZING! Lobster is delicious! Highly recommended! I only wish it had a better pool area and play area for kids

They are clean and safe as can be. Smoking areas outside and poker room is just Smoking and TV

Best casino in San Diego! Hotel is spacious but may need more updating. The views from the hotel are spectacular. The buffet food is delicious. Win or lose, this hotel and casino is tops!

Supper amazing staff went there for my 18th birthday and everything was amazing went a few times after my birthday and the staff was still giving stuff for my birthday plus from (party line) maybe they gave me $5

The atmosphere is really laid back and "cozy". In a couple of hours of time I was up by a hundred and cashed out. The taco shop was ...ok too.

Most modern and customer thoughtful casino I have seen yet. Even has a non-smoking section. Of course it doesn't beat the high end Las Vegas Strip casinos, but at half the cost... it's awesome. Although I do miss those scantily dressed cocktail waitresses.

It's food court is Great... the casino is ready for you to come and enjoy being Safe and Clean.

My company used the Barona Event Center and found it to be a beautiful and picturesque location to have an event with out community partners and The only issue we found is the event coordinator didn't let us know that the Barona property is not allowed to have members of the media. We would have to have 2-3 weeks to receive approval. They did not tell us this in advance. It was told to us the day of. Great location, just be cautious if you are looking to partner with the media. Let them know in advance.

Was nearby playing golf and went there to get lunch and play at the casino. This place is amazing. So clean and all the workers were so nice. Amazing casino for California. Almost felt like Vegas besides not being able to drink in the casino. Never seen so many varaitions of blackjack in my life. Great casino.

Okay casino, not top on my list if wanting to visit a casino. The buffet is not good. Parking is plentiful. Casino was festively decorated for the holidays with elves giving people rides to their cars and free hot chocolate in the parking garage. Very twisty/windy roads to get to Barona. Be careful when driving!

It's a nice casino. The service is friendly. The buffet is a little pricey, but good. They have almost every kind of food. From Mexican to BBQ, Chinese, seafood. They have free valet, but it's always good to tip.

So yes I will say that this is by far my most favorite casino outside of Las Vegas that I've been to it cannot be denied or on his customer service friendliness cleanliness selection of games entire package is outstanding and exceptional I absolutely love it when I do come here as a secret mystery shopper in the past a customer service specialist and professional reviewer I honestly say this is my favorite however I will be stating my next comment in all of my Casino reviews. As we get further and further into social online gambling and the rise of sweepstakes sweeps casinos the competition for the brick-and-mortar casinos seems to be heating up and I think that many of the casinos around this area and around the country should step up their game as much as I love coming to Barona and other casinos like it I have had more wins and better experiences on bonus games and payouts in my online casinos like chumba and luckyland slots in fact I I'm embarrassed is they this but I've been to several several casinos and personally have never even had a small jackpot I'm not saying I haven't ever walked out with a few hundred bucks in my pocket or a smile on my face which is great and all but when it comes down to it I'm noticing when I feel the need to gamble or play games of chance to hopefully actually win money I'm spending more of my resources and energy into the online casinos where I have actually had better experiences I don't know if this is just my experience or what it's just something I seem to have notice. I've decided to actually talk about this in my reviews because we do live in a highly competitive capitalist economy and as a consumer and a gambler and a frequent customer of casinos I feel that many of the land-based and Native casinos should either loosen their slots have more winners of a for lack of better word younger generation because the pattern that I am noticing about online casinos as they are becoming more popular and more money and as that occurs and there is more money and more interest the laws will probably change they'll be more legal gambling sites in more States or states will start open up on legal online gambling and the sweepstakes casinos I've already found the loophole so please get your competitive capitalist business hats on and do what you got to do to keep your customers coming into your land-based casinos again thank you for all the wonderful customer service you provided I hope that maybe one day when I come in there I can walk out a big winner if not it's starting to get to the point where I I may just stay with the online casinos but still I love love love Barona out of all of the casinos that I've been to here

Barona is the most luxury casino in all casino I've been to, especially your hotel is like for vip only,my friends tells me they rather go to barona is not like the other casino, sure enough the first time I visited barona I said to my self barona is the place for everyone to enjoy and I recommend barona is the best casino of all, thank you barona for all the service that you giving us thank you.

Love the size and floor supervisor but lack other games. They have tons of different types of black jack. Wish they had faceup pao gow or other forms of poker. Way too much blackjack tables. Overall still enjoy the place. Will be back if im in town

I had a great time here at Barona. The staff were awesome! Great atmosphere! Love the hourly games. I snacked on chicken strips and fries from the food court. Pretty good ranch too.

Excellent place to eat at a reasonable price. The ice cream shop is very good with great products and low pricing! Dakota is one of the best employees there. He is always friendly and courteous. He really enjoys making the customers experience a great one!!! He really treats them right!!! Thumbs Up!!! 5 Stars!!!

Recently I went to Barona Casino. To say the least I was extremely impressed.
The food at Sage restaurant has always been good with the staff being courteous and attentive. The casino took to heart the safety of their guests at the restaurant. We observed typical table clearing and added effort to clean the floor, seats, and table. The food has always been hot, now there is the added precaution of covering the food with saran wrap.
About the casino. Again the management has gone the extra mile. We observed constant cleaning of surfaces touched by guests. Within minutes of a guest leaving a machine, an employee was cleaning the surfaces.
These things made my trip more enjoyable because my safety was taken into consideration.
Sycuan casino has done some of the things mentioned above but not to the extent of Barona.
I have to say the casino I am the least impressed with is Valley View. I ate there and the food was not cooked fully and was not flavorful. As for the casino, I was appalled. As for social distancing, there are some machines turned off but there are still many machines operating next to each other with no barrier. Social distancing is a after thought that received a little bit of attention. It appeared the Covid-19 rules were all but ignored.
I sat at one machine for 3 hours to watch the cleaning crews. In my little area nobody cleaned the the row of machines. This not to say there was not staff doing cleaning, there just was not very many employees doing it.
Overall, for food, courtesy of the staff, safety of the guests Barona has my appreciation. I will go back to Barona

This was my first visit to this casino and it was amazing! The staff were all super helpful and attentive. The dealers were friendly and professional. Our experience today could not have been better!

Baronas doing a great job having covid 19 provision's, Hand sanitizers everywhere and hand wipes.restrooms urinals separated, slot machines plexiglass in-between machines.,and each slot machine one open and one out of service for covid 19 protection, Check point for temperature check in your car before parking and pleasant staff. Had a couple slices from their pizza food court.,Costco pizza slices are 10 times better,there cheese is fake and the slices not hot,who wants to eat a luke warm slice of pizza? No flavor!! My wife took home a large cup of clam chowder and it was very flavorful. A+ Barona for no smoking and protecting their staff and Barona customers welfare . One Other Casino in San Diego county says no cigar's but ok to smoking cigarettes? Am I missing something? Other than cigar's stink more than cigarettes,but that's only my opinion..4 stars cause I thought the machines I played were tight..I really don't have to win jackpots, but least the machines could of let me play a little..

So much fun playing the card tables or the slots! Not to mention the Buffet is out of this world! Easy parking or take a free bus from various locals around San Diego County. Also there is a Rose Garden and a small park with ducks and many benches to enjoy the surroundings. All in all a pleasant place to visit even if you don't smoke or gamble. Go for the Buffet if nothing else!

Nice and clean Indian Casino. Large food court and well organized parking garage.They have the cleanest poker chips in all of SoCal. If there is one thing they can improve on is the rewards and promotions. They are overly complicated. Sycuan has a much better system that is much easier to understand.

Seared salmon, kimchee, and much more! Best buffet in San Diego.

This a great place to getaway in San Diego.

Unfortunately I had to go to a one star as that's as low as it gets. I'm a long time guess here bringing family and friends here since the time when the buffet were held inside the tent. It was my favorite place and best casino in San Diego. Then yesterday evening when I ordered a smoothie to go on the ride home, I ended up with a few pieces of blue gloves blended into my drink. Shocked, disgusted and felt sick. Who knows where that glove has been during this covid time. I've lost trust in them handling the food. Please be careful and beware of what you order to eat especially during this pandemic.

My stay and play at Barona was one of the best times in my life. From the front desk to management was amazing the love that they showed my wife and I on our 27th anniversary brought to me to tears! Thanks so much for your hospitality management

People are super nice there and very friendly and helpful especially for a casino. I actually win some money there and was very happy. Supposedly they have the loosest slots in San Diego.
They have different games and things that they get the Patriots to participate in like a money machine that pick name from those who are playing on the slot machines and they go in the money machine in in in 3 minutes grab as much money flying around as they can someone won $225 that way. There are several restaurants there.
The Sage restaurant is open 24 hours. I had the prime rib for y2nd time. which was $16 it was a 12 oz cut it with mashed potatoes bread Soup or salad and ice cream included. The food was excellent and so was The service.

Very Very Tight Machines. Very depressing atmosphere hardly any people. No one winning. . Some staff kind others very rude. I really did not want to come here. Sorry I did. Sycuan has loose slots and very relaxing and live music to entertain. Sycuan very accomdating. Do not pull your mask down for one second at Barona. I get it with the mask but to be downright rude serious?. The mask security people are rude. Will not be back. To depressing Barona.

Absolutely beautiful Resort and Casino including a game room many options for dining a golf course- driving range -putting greens- a lovely pool and jacuzzi open from 7 a.m. till 10 p.m. I highly recommend taking the time to relax. there is even a chapel if you want to get married. And of course what makes me happy about any place they're very pet friendly. The grounds are expensive and very beautiful there are many places to explore and discover including a hidden Rose Garden with a pergola I'm not going to tell you where it is you must find it . :-) Security and staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and the security make you feel very safe and comfortable there are many shuttles from the parking lot to the hotel and the casino so don't worry if you have to park deep in the parking lot. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. It takes my money and then gives it back. But from other casinos they have the best customer service, hands down! I recommend you use the player card to get points. Get there in the evening - better odds of winning. Also, try out their restaurants downstairs. The food is amazing.

I love roulette, but the style they play here is super disheartening. The ball drops and then they turn 1 of 3 cards. So the number of the balls has hardly anything to do with the final winning number. Really takes the smoothness out of the game. Also missing odds on colums.

We go to Barona for their great restaurants, or a round of golf, and an every so often "staycation" at their resort hotel. The food is excellent, the hotel and rooms are clean and modern, and they have a wide variety of gaming for a little fun.

Used to be so much better it was my first time there in a couple years but I could tell the winning atmosphere was nowhere to be found nor did I see too many people winning

Buffet has a wide variety of foods. Also they will warm up the crab legs.

Been there a few time I've won and I've lost but that's the way it goes. The place is big and very clean. all the employees wave when you enter the place and make you feel welcome and when you leave they say have a good night and drive safely. I give it thumbs up

Barona felt very safe in an unsafe time. They checked temperatures before you can park. There was a greeter at the door asking you to sanitize your hands upon entry, and there were wipes everywhere to be used.

Sage cage has the most amazing soups and there blue cheese dressing is to die for. I had the Cobb salad and the topping were a huge portion not to mention they put an entire delicious steak in top all for $12.95! The view on the potion was breathtaking
