Barona Resort & Casino Review

Restaurants are just amazing!!! Discovered this casino a couple of months ago and we have been back quite a few times since the first visit!

Was attempting to take my family to buffet, But we arrived and it was a 3 hour wait for a table. Did not get to enjoy food, by the time we got to front line buffet had closed. Better luck next time strongly suggest call ahead of time.

I've got nothing good to say. So, let's just leave it at that!

I enjoyed myself here and it's very military friendly too. Buffet food choices had me leaving there satisfied. Only down side I can think of is that it has a strong lingering smell of cigarettes even if your in a non-smoking section. Other then that I'll recommend and be back for more to play some Blackjack.

Barona is as good as any other casino in San Diego County.

I loved it we even got a face mask that looks like a shield. My favorite part is it was my birthday week and they still have me a present

Didn't stay in the hotel this trip, but the wife I stopped by to play and grab a bite to eat. The layout inside and out was beautiful. Every worker I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Will possibly stay there the next time we're in town from Arizona. I loved being in the mountains and feeling the nice breeze... So different from the beach(and desert), and very relaxing and refreshing.

I had been looking for a local casino with single zero roulette, and stumbled upon Barona. The staff was super helpful in transferring my tier level from another casino, and made sure I was completely setup for bonuses and information. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The high limit area is well stocked with popular slots and tables. So far I had a great time, and recommend Barona to anyone looking to gamble. Also, if you like texas holdem tournaments they have those too.

People that worked for casino was very friendly and down to earth. Loved the fact it is non a smoking casino. Easy parking very well organized. S

Always an enjoyable experience. Spent the night n went 2 the Italian restaurant 4 dinner. Yummy! Went 2 work in morning. Can't wait 2 do it again!

Went for lobster buffet, so many ways to cook lobster, well worth the price and long drive.

Your food is going down hill. My family goes there a lot and when we want to eat and we have to eat there we dread it.

Didn't gamble just ate at Italian restaurant. Everyone enjoyed food and service. Very safe service. Avoid marsala dish, sauce was thin and flavorless.

I had a great time with my 18 year old son. It was a great experience and bonding moment with him. I wish we've won something tho?

This has always been one of my favorite casinos. The slots are pretty loose and the rewards program is alright. The employees were very helpful and friendly and the food is great too.

Casino's usually take your money and rarely give you money because their business is to make money. With that being said my visit was entertaining, relaxing, and a wonderful place to people watch. I would like to preface that comment with a shot of whiskey then chased with ice cold beer and then the entertainment starts. I'm short, you can decide how your trip to Barona will end.

Such exciting things to explore and enjoy! Best hotel ever...serene, majestic, and inspiring view awaits you. Plus GREAT STAFF... where else can you find such pleasure, bliss, and service!!!! I miss Barona son e moving to Hawaii last July ... will be back--- yeah.

Great casino with loose slots. Over all we came back about $150 ahead. One lost $50, one other won a dollar and I won a big jackpot that put me way over the top. Too bad their buffet is now 45-50. Guess it used to be around 25 but they recently raised it by 20. If you get to 500 points in play you get a discount but we didn't want to play that long so we just ate at the sage cafe which was very good and reasonably priced.

Slots are tighter than lu CV y thats for sure , no chance of winning here . not this week the casino needs to handout xmas bonuses to it benefactors with your helping contribution. Beware stay away.!

We had fun but had to leave early because we didnt have a room. Would go to stay and play but have not received any comp'd rooms like I have many times at Viejas.

Loved Baronas! Very clean, a lot of loose slot machines and the staff makes you feel very welcome.

They're really taking social distancing to next level it's really comfortable everyone was doing they had to do at the same time they were enjoying themselves

First time visiting. Plenty of parking in either the lots or the garage. Large casino floor with tons of slots. No promotions or discounts for new club members. Staff at the club desk was not friendly at all. Played, craps, 5x odds, fire and sharp shooter bets. Dealers were friendly enough, table opens at 10am. Found some full pay video poker machines. Drink service was pretty frequent with a cart so they had just about whatever you'd want (no alcohol). Seems like the players club could be a little more generous but we'll see how it goes. Small food court with a variety of options.

Great service, good slots, awesome food. All around good experience.

Great service. All employees greeted us wonderful. Buffet was delicious. Baylieno such a nice man excellent customer service.

Had a great time while I was there, kinda like I won the pocket tournament and they voted for me to. Not like god sending me three boats or anybody walking into bar for a great end to a bad joke. Nice mountain view, friendly dealers and never a bad day for a good respectable game of Texas hold-em.

They're super clean and have the Covid-19 system on point. Screening and checking people is making it safe to go to the Barona

Very clean. Smoking and non smoking areas but are not divided by a wall. My favorite is the war table and slots. War table doesn't open on weekends until after noon. Food is amazing with reasonable prices specially for Gold or higher members. Oh! And such good coffee! Don't add hazelnut too it. Over all a very nice/fun casino!

If you don't like smoke this is your spot. I've had really good luck with the machines here. They have free bet double deck blackjack, which is fun. Tons of slots, caps played by cards and dice. The staff is always friendly, free ATM and the food court is adequate. The only down side is they don't give alot of features with the players card.

I always enjoy coming here to my favorite slots and the drive is very scenic too.
The best outside of Vegas!

Tried to stay here from out of town. I haven't been here since the hotel opened. They have 10 rooms in the whole hotel for non comp guests. Really 10 rooms. We had to get a room in El Cajon. How can someone from out of town even become a vip? They will never see me again.

Very disappointed in service at Hotel this time. Makes me think ... If you haven't lost hundreds of dollars you are nothing . I asked for extra ranch with sampler platter which cost $27 dollars I was told it would be $3 , and lady was rude about it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Barona was just fabulous. We are from Michigan and we met a cashier asking him which slot machines are the most fun, he directed us straight to the machine and while play they brought us free barons tee shirts, just placed the biggest smile on our faces. Our room was perfect, bathroom was so huge, in the closet came two bath robe and slippers. Just outstanding. Buffet was literary so big we didn't know where to start!

If its your kinda thing I Geuss they do the trick, workers friendly and helpful. I just think it was one of the saddest places I've ever been, looked like a zombie holding tank. Everyone connected to a machine with pointless slow movements captured by the spirit of false hope. Even to win you gain nothing circle of nothingness. No one was even enjoying theirselfs and it appeared the life had been sucked out of them. The establishment was ran very well I wish its purpose was as well attended.

Ate at sage Cafe. It wasn't bad. Service was a bit slow. Too bad they raised the prices on the buffet to almost double! This was once my favorite casino buffet, bit I def won't be paying the new prices.

It is a fresh and daring idea in Casino cleanliness. No smoking policy is in effect here and ... Yes I am a smoker. But I can go to a outside area to smoke... If I could just get off my machine. I'm giving three stars because I talked to several people here. No real winners. Bummer. Loosen up them bandits would ya.???

But lately I've noticed a taller white guy that works there just walking around with a broom and dust pan brooming air.. Looks like a lot of clean up personnel that work there are a waste of wages and benefits.. This area could use plenty of improvement..

Barona Resort & Casino looks to be in the middle of farm town but once you arrive, it is definitely a beautiful and eye pleasingly wonderful place. We were drawn like moths to a lamp! We went to have dinner at the buffet, however, the price was 44.99. That didnt bother us too much. They said if we gained 500 points then the price would cut in half. We gambled and gained more than what we came here with and got the discount as well. The waiters and waitresses were kind. So was the staff. They answered all of my questions signing up for a membership. Come and have some fun before you eat and even if you lose, you may still be able to get the discount!

They have the best customer service out of every casino me and my wife has been to. Barona is number 1 in taking care of its players. Love u Barona.

Been eating here for years. Now the service is slow, the prices are much higher and the food is mediocre at best.

Serves no Alcohol. Unheard of. Really nice facility. Has great potential. But what is gambling without Alcohol.

Impressive casino. Everything looks new and clean. Table games are plentiful. Good night out while in San Diego area.

There is lots to do here! Besides gambling, they have a beautiful hotel with pool and hot tub, and lots of places to dine. EXCELLENT service and very friendly staff.

Pretty cool casino, disagree that everybody smokes though .

Nice and clean which is always appreciated in a place where so many come and go, but staff must've not been "feeling it" that night cause they ALL seemed a bit... Terse. And I gotta be honest, I've won more playing dollar scratchers from a mini Mart (twice in my whole life) than either my friend or I won that night. I tried a few slots and he checked out the black jack tables. We both got cleaned out within an hour. And we weren't placing Max bets every time, or anything crazy like that. You know? But cleaned out we were. Also, I expected more than a cheesy useless button to pin on, announcing my status as a first timer... No freebies, no comps, no incentives, not even offered a coupon for dinner. Just the players card. I could've thrown my money out the window going down the freeway at 70mph and had more entertainment.

The casino is very large, has many game options, very comfortable, free drinks, and yes, if you earn money, the first time I won $ 300 dollars with $ 50 I played. To become a member is very easy and does not count anything.

Best buffet ever been to. Great selection, guality, separate stations for great flow. The buffet and casino staff were exceptional with friendliness and service. Worth the drive up the canyon to this jewel.

It's all in one. The spectacular view, the loose slots, the super intestinal-friendly, undeniably great food of Italian Cusina restaurant, the nice good smelling rooms... I need nothing more. It's a well maintained place and will keep coming back.

It has been years since I have visited this place. And the entire place is full of machines. The place is full of thick smoke since it is only 1 floor.

I had the unfortunate experience of having a asthma attack while walking around looking for my mother who was also looking for me. When she asked for a phone so that she can call they said none were available.

I asked a greeter if she can page for my mother she directed to the a far side to ask for that page so I decided to walk out.

It only got worse to breathe she directed a security guard to assist me and he had to call EMS for them to help me. One took my BP and it was high by this point I was getting 2 words out per breath. One was explaining to me that if they called the paramedics to assist me it would be a cost of $250. Mentioning this at least 4 times while I'm in distress and adding to my anxiety growing.

One finally said it's in my best interest to get to the ER by being transported there. So I finally agreed.

If you choose to go there wear a mask and hope you dont need help as it seems they have make sure to mention money while in distress.

Definitely will not be returning after this episode.

The food court and restaurants have great food. Also, the staff/employees make an effort to make you feel welcome. If you visit on your birthday, you will get people singing Happy Birthday to you. Also, no ATM fees to withdraw money.

The casino is nice and well kept. Service is always great. And I enjoy going there just to get away for a little bit for some fun. The rooms are nice and lots of space. It's a nice place for anyone to stay at, or play

#weekendgetaway Who's feeling lucky? Barona is the best Casino in southern California undisputed!!! Their game selection, services and table options are unmatched. Their player card perks are worth applying for can't say I've ever payed for a buffet there. My wife and I love the garden and golf course out back and their rooms have the qualities that are only fit for a king. The BEST and I do mean the BEST!

Great casino! Love the slot machine selection. The crowd was friendly on a Wednesday night. I come here every couple of months. The staff are always happy to answer questions or get you bottles of water.

The Casino was just renovated and it looks great. They offered many slot machines to play. We dined at Sage restaurant and the food was awesome. Also, the bread they served us at 5 p.m. was delicious. We will continue to go to Barona Casino because we love their hospitality and their service.

Our Favorite Casino, very friendly and caring for the guests. On this last visit we had the best time. Stayed 2 nights free and many extras included for our upgrade on our club member card. Robin and Kevin are the best, they did our upgrades on the spot in the casino and explain every details on our members cards and added extra bonus that was nice. Barona is our #1 Casino. Never disappoints us. Highly recommend

Signs at the entrance state "no smoking" and "smoke free" - all a lie. You can smell it the moment you walk in. Saw several people smoking at tables. Seems they have a small non-smoking area but it works as well as the old non-smoking sections on an airplane (not very). Also they have no bar, at least until one opens in the basement at 4pm. Better casino options in the area.

They know how to treat their clients with real high end style. And all their eateries have superb food. Their staff are friendly and accomadating. I just think they do everything right, children and service pets are welcome. Barona is not just a gambling experience it's a real fun recreational event. There is something for everyone . You can relax in the beautiful hotel, go swimming , golfing, work out in their gym, get spa services , do a nature walk around the premises , visit the iconic Koi fish pond, experience the beauty and fragrance of the rose garden that also Grace's the Barona experience. Additionally you can sit by the golf course pond and experience the serenity, that cradels the majestic surroundings that connects with the spirit of the great native people and their ancestors. It's so important to revere the native indian peoples and their culture , for the intrusion we non Indians imposed on them historically in their America country.

I don't really win much but the staff is very friendly, accommodating and it's a fun place to run away to.

Not what I expected at all staff was helpful and nice

Our room was spacious, clean & the beds were comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Pool & jacuzzi are nice. Exercise room looks out on the back pond and golf course. Sage restaurant breakfast was delicious and service was fast and very courteous. Buffet food was good but it would be nice if the seating there could have a little more ambiance. Pretty crowded and loud. Lots of slots or table games to choose and plenty of workers to help if you have a problem. All in all our two day mini vacation was great. Only wish we lived closer as we only travel out here a couple of times a year. Thank you Barona!

It s a great casino but haven t had much luck lately and had a not so great valet experience my list visit. Been going for a while but certain staff doesn t take the time to acknowledge you. If it s your first time though it has great table games and Hotel.

You have all these fun winning cash prizes for you VIPS and yes they probably spend alot of money.. but what about the people that are starting to show up.. I see how it leave us out.. makes me feel like not wanting to come.. well you should treat all your card members the same way.. gave the beginner a chance to win some money to...

Pay outs are rare here and there comps are even rarer. Heads up for parents with babies trying to go to buffet. It will cost you full price even for a toddler.
And no alcohol on the casino floor. Only the cafe serves alcohol. And you will have to sit there to finish. Like a grown man in a time out corner. Better times would be had at Sycuan or Viejas in my opinion.

not my first time at a casino, but my first time here! 18+ casino so we took my cousin for his 18th birthday. during the holidays, it looks absolutely beautiful. the lights and decorations are great!
the slots are easy to navigate, but we found most luck at the tables. good luck to all who goes!

Nice hotel and casino, did not win any money on slots, nobody seemed to be winning when we visited, oh well can't have everything. Our room was very nice and spacious, clean, bathroom was huge, bed very comfortable, there was also a little outside sitting area with table and chairs. We had a lot of fun
