Spent the weekend in Baltimore and checked out a couple of cool places for food. Barcocina turned out to be a favorite. The atmosphere was little too loud and crowded but it was a Friday night so I guess that makes sense.

Their Korean beef tacos may have been the best tacos I ve ever had. It came with a papaya kimchi which was both unexpected and delicious. Also had these duck quesadillas which were ok but not as good as I was hoping for.

Tried to eat there during Star Spangled 200, figured we'd go there because the restaurant was half empty while all the other places in Fells were jammed. Red flag, but we just wanted a couple drinks and some nachos.

So we ask for a table for 5 and were told it was an hour wait.

So we went to Koopers, which was standing room only, and were seated in 15 minutes.

I crave better than generic suitable food in Baltimore when I go out . I usually only go for 4.5 stars on Google or up, I went here because there were only 2 Mexican bars/restaurant I saw on Google. We only had 3 items , the guacamole , the spinach salad and beef taco. 2 out of 3 was the best I have ever had the food was ridiculous, How its only rated a 4.1 is absolutely puzzling because what I tasted was worthy of Michelin consideration . Oh and the service could not have been better. This was Sunday at the bar are bartenders were refreshing.

Anytime I come to Barcocina I have a great time. Good selection of tacos and quesadillas that have never disappointed. I believe there's something for everyone on their menu. I haven't tried the Sunday Brunch yet but, I've heard nothing but rave reviews. I'll update this review once I have. I thoroughly enjoy their list of Mezcal and Tequilas, I don't think I've been anywhere else in the area with a comparable list. The Margaritas are top notch and the bartenders are usually attentive. I've never had any problems with the service. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing, which especially rings true during the day when you have a clear view of the waterfront. The space is big enough for large groups (birthdays, happy hours, out of town guests) to enjoy no matter the occasion. All in all I've enjoyed my experiences at Barcocina, and I'd recommend anyone to check it out.

Our food was served cold. Not sure if this is because we were one of the first ones there. The server was gracious about it and comped some of it. Manager didn't come or to find out what was the problem. And the drinks were weak

Always enjoyed this place especially for the location and views of the water. Last time I was there for just drinks, was directed to only the crowded/full bars instead of being seated. Usually an appetizer or 2 is ordered with the drinks which would still equate to a decent-sized bill by the end. As I walked to use the restroom, observed a lot of open tables which we could have easily sat in. Would have ended up spending much more money if we were seated like I have been in the past. So I will be less inclined to recommend this place and return in the future if I don't plan on eating a full meal there.

Like most places on the water, you're paying for the location and not the quality of the food.

Food is okay. Cocktails are okay. Service is above average. Really cool place to eat with friends though.

Bottled beer double IPA got me where I needed to be. I had 2. Tacos were dry. Had mahi and cheeseburger tacos (her idea, not mine lol). Guac was par. Papis house guac w/shrimp pre-covid much better. Service was good. Fun water-front patio experience. Beer and patio gets it 3 stars and another visit. Hopefully their other dishes are better next time. If not, 2.5 stars.

I had a racist server named Danielle. From the moment she was taking my order she had attitude and was very abrasive. We did not appreciate the immediate disrespect and if I could give her 0 stars i definitely would hope she improves her mannerisms in the near future. And not mention when I requested a new server she canceled one of my party members orders and made us wait double the time. Will not return here under any circumstances was truly disrespected. Xoxo

Worst Customer service I have ever seen

Worst Customer service I have ever seen

I will never go to this bar again, and I would strong advise you avoid it too. The staff has no concept of tact, customer service, or discretion. I was there with my girlfriend this weekend. She had an tab open at the bar and they had her credit card. She ordered a drink at the bar later and, I can't say for sure, either forgot to give them her name or she gave it to them and they couldn't hear her in the loud bar. Simple misunderstanding right? What happened next is where it all went wrong. We were standing around talking, only 10 feet from the bar. We hadn't left, we weren't hiding or running, we were standing in plain site right by the bar. In stead of a server coming over and politely asking for the name on the tab so they could put the drink on it, several employees came over in a group, formed a half circle around her, and accused her of stealing drinks and then demanded that we leave. It was a simple mis-understanding they responded as aggressively and over the top as they possibly could have. She left and I, as an innocent bystander thus far, stayed and demanded that they return her credit card before I would leave. They refused to give me the card back. After enough insisting, I was escorted to the back side of the bar and someone else was sent to get her card. I was then told that they didn't have the card. I called the police to report that they had stolen the card and while we were waiting for the officer to arrive, they 'found' it. I should add for context that she was not drunk, nor was our friend, and I, as the DD, was completely sober and hadn't had a single drink. It was a simple misunderstanding. All it would have taken to fix this was a polite tap on the shoulder... "Sorry mis, I didn't catch the name for the tab." In stead they approached in a threatening manner, accused us of stealing, demanded that we leave, and refused to return our property. This wasn't an inattentive waiter, some undercooked meat or a drink spilled in my lap. I can forgive that. This was planned and premeditated behavior that is beyond excusable.

Passed by this place many times as seen from docking Baltimore Water Taxis' Fells Point landing. Ran in here as a thunderstorm approached. Sat at the end of the bar. If you ordered food or drink, Bar tenders collected credit card; or pay as you go. Food was cold. Can't go wrong with bottled beer. Crowd was a bunch was of death college kids shouting at each other after one round. Openly gay activity seen from across the bar. Overall, a tourist spot with an impetuous crowd. Could be a nice place though to bring your girlfriend and sit outside long the pier on a sunny day!

I've lived in Fells Point for 22 years. So, the other night, my wife and I are walking our dogs in the neighborhood as we have nightly for 22 years. We are walking by Barcocina, the new restaurant which replaced Francie's, Piccolos, and Shuckers. We walked under their awning since it was raining. Suddenly a man jumped out of the restaurant, told me I was trespassing, and wanted me (he couldn't see my wife) off the property. This was an open area that wasn't sectioned off. He stood there with his arms folded, very confrontational, and waited till me and my 9 year old Doberman, Ginger, went back into the rain. I'm extremely annoyed. If you own a successful place in this neighborhood,i.e., Slainte,Max's, Duda's, Bertha's...you know everyone here owns dogs and it pays to be dog friendly. This guy was not.
I know lots of folks. I mean lots. I'll make sure every single one of them hears about this fellow, the restaurant and how we were treated.

The only good thing about this restaurant is the view and location. Food is mediocre, drinks are not that great either. They told us we were going have to wait 30
Minutes for a table at 1pm even though there were so many available (I think they didn t have enough waiters). Guacamole was ok, chicken king pao tacos were not good (neither Mexican nor Chinese, nor a good fusion). Strawberry shortcake was a donut with strawberries and vanilla ice cream. Not a shortcake. Quite disappointed.

Only giving three stars because on my previous visit the food was good, little pricey, but good. Last visit on a Sunday went like this. Me. I would like seating for 4. Them. Do you have a reservation. Me. No I do not. (I looked around and the place was at least 75% empty. Even the outside seating wasn't full). Me. What is the wait time. Them. 35-40 minutes.. Me. But the place is empty and your servers are just standing there talking. Them. We have reservations for all these tables. Me. Have a nice afternoon. Now I get it, I used to be in the restaurant business. But I was a sure thing customer that was ready to spend money and you turned me away because of someone that said they were coming. If every customer had walked in at the same time, they could not have seated them fast enough to be at the last person before someone else or my party would have been done and gone. People really need to think outside the box. Just my opinion. If you go, make sure you call ahead. You may want to call ahead just in case you go or are thinking about it. Anyway, give them a try, like I said the food was good and it's a great view of the harbor.

Chill hipster vibes with a beautiful view of the inner harbor. Food and drinks are AMAZING. I highly recommend the guacamole with crab and pomegranate. It may sound like an odd pairing but it was absolutely incredible and I m officially addicted. Popular place for brunch and happy hour so come early or make reservations if you re pressed for time.

All of the tacos were good to very good. The brussel sprouts were great but one of the beer pint glasses tasted like soap and the service was spotty... definitely don't get the yucca tots! You get like 7 bite sized cubes.

My first time attending this place that I've heard great things about...my girlfriend and I were waiting for twenty minutes and no one served us at all. No water, napkins plates, a greeting... I asked for the host to notify the waitress and still no one came. While the manager was willing to give us complimentary appetizers, that just wasn't enough to remove the sour taste of being ignored for that long at a restaurant. Poor service would be an understatement...

One of my favorite places to eat every time I visit Baltimore! Their food has consistently tasted well since I started coming here almost five years ago. Pretty tasty cocktails and lovely views of the water. Their brunch is one of my favorites also. $15 bottomless mimosas that actually have a good amount of champagne in them! No skimping ;)

So we went to Barcocina Baltimore today may 27th.
We bought food and bought the all day mimosas. After 3 hours the manager came over and told us they needed the table for other people. They said they have a 3 hour table policy. We were just about to order dinner when he came over so a table of 6 $150 minimum dinner order they did not care about. Well we left and went to Woodys and spent over $200. Great business plan Barcocina. My recommendation don't visit this place go somewhere that is not rude and treats you like you are important to them.

Horrible service. Waitress NEVER checked on our table one single time after she brought our drinks. Other servers brought out our food. We were never asked if our orders came out correctly. Never asked if we wanted refills on drinks. We wanted to order additional cocktails but never had the opportunity. We had to chase waitress down for our check - frankly could have just walked out with out paying and she probably wouldn't have known. Have worked in customer service and adequate tipping is very important to me - needless to say this purple haired bimbo didn't deserve a nickel.
