This place is a hidden gem! I've driven past this establishment several times but sceptical about going in, but oh what a great surprise. Nice modern decor, the place was very clean, and the food was great. Have only been once, but will definitely return. Sure to be added to to the top of my list of local favorites!
P.S. The Bloody Meal is to die for.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but looks are deceiving... Food is amazing. Been here a few times and never left hungry or disappointed. Bouillabbaise is one of my favs. Great beer and wine list.
This was an unexpected gem. I had the boar ragu pasta. The noodles tasted fresh and the boar was cooked to perfection. I also had the carrot cake, which was also very good. Not too sweet. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good selection of drinks. I had a couple beers and a sample of my friends old fashion, which was on point.
Wonderful visit. Had excellent service, deliscoius food, and our libationist was both skilled and knowledgeable. Would recommend to friends and family :)
Was in the area and tried Bar Bistro on a whim to catch the Seahawks game. Nice little find. Great food at atmosphere if you're tired of the typical sports bar. Had the jerk chicken wrap, ground turkey sliders and grilled romain side salad. Great selection of micro brews and liquor.
Food is excellent, plating is star quality and service is wonderful. We watched the bartender mix the drink and her technique was inspiring. The eclectic variety of dishes on the menu made it very difficult to choose only one item.
A friend and I chose this place because we wanted to try something new, and she heard their lobster something or other was amazing. We were in on a Monday about 5:30. I give it 4 stars, not because anything is wrong, but I probably won't seek it out again. The bartender, who was also our server was amazing, and while we did not order any of their specialty/craft cocktails we enjoyed watching him make them. We did order adult beverages, but we are basically pretty boring, although I was told, with a smile I was complicated - this is totally a haha moment.
Anyway, service was on point. It is not very big, it is pleasantly decorated, and overall comfortable. So, I need to point out, I am not a seafood person, and their dishes lean heavily in the seafood direction. It is definitely more along the gastropub route, and lobster is prominent and they had an octopus & muscles.
We actually ended up eating off the appetizer menu, I had street tacos with steak and my friend had some kind of lobster roll and it came with homemade chips. They were super tasty. Hers was good, but she found the lobster chunks challenging and overall didn't knock her off her feet. My street tacos had lots of good flavors ( I'll come back to the flavor thing in a minute), but the red sauce had a little too much heat for the lightness of the taco. It ended up overpowering it, either a little less heat in the sauce, or a lot less sauce, but very good, very satisfying. The flavor. They are big on flavors, I also noticed this word is used a lot in the various reviews. The bartender asked , not how everything was, but if we were enjoying the flavors. We wrapped our meal with the carrot cake, I noticed in the reviews somebody posted a picture, wish I had taken one, it was definitely picture worthy. My only regret is that we decided to be good and share. Their portions are just that portions (thank you!), and I could have easily eaten whole piece myself. It gets 5+ stars!
I recommend you give it a try, it was good, I just wasn't blown away, (except the carrot cake) doesn't mean you won't love it, and should at the very least give it a try.. Do not steer away because of the location, it seems odd that there is this hip gastro pub in a quasi industrial farmish weird no man's land, but it is, and it is worth the visit, just not my personal cup of tea. Easy on/off the freeway, so if 512 is backed up, hop off and grab some dinner.
Fantastic as usual! We love this place. Odd location but no big deal. The menu is eclectic and executed deliciously, the cocktails are inventive and also delicious, great service and great atmosphere with a trendy, chill vibe.
Started with cocktails and elk sliders. Crab bisque and gnocchi. Hubby had soft shell crab sandwich and fries. We took home a piece of carrot cake because we've heard it's very good and we were full.
We just moved to the area from Phoenix and I found this on the "Find Me Gluten Free" app and it was highly rated. I can see why. The staff was very attentive and while they put a regular bun on my Cuban sandwich (I caught it before eating), they did a great job (mistakes happen, which is why I ask my boyfriend to test bread I don't trust. He is my poison tester <3).
This place looks very unassuming from the street, but the food and drinks are awesome. Try the Mac and Cheese with crab and a grilled Romaine Salad. Yummy!
Wow, trendy, clean, and most importantly amazing food with all the sauces made from scratch! Eric our server was equally as good as the food! Such a welcomed surprise!!!
A fine establishment for lunch. Fries were very good, and the Cuban u happen to get was good but almost too dry. Otherwise a solid place to eat from with good American bistro selections
I would have never expected this place to be as nice as it was from the exterior/location; it s definitely a diamond in the rough! The drinks were good, but the food was great!! I had the filet mignon with Brussels sprouts (I NEVER eat these) and I highly recommend this dish; it was delicious! A friend of mine ordered the Cajun smoked duck (never had duck before) and he says it was fantastic! My husband had the angus burger and couldn t stop talking about it. He says the bacon was best best and crispiest he s ever had! Our server Michael was attentive, friendly, and funny :) We ll definitely be back!!
Just 4 blue walls on the outside but when you walk inside you feel like you are in an upscale bistro. Service was awesome and helpful. The food was delicious. The choice is varied and not your ordinary fare. I want to go back to try the slate's caramel beignet. We were too full for dessert
Truly an enjoyabled dining experience. From the exquisitely crafted specialty cocktails to the chef inspired fare, this nondescript place is an absolute must. You will understand once you venture in. Truly remarkable.
Very good food and service. Lobster roll was fresh and tasty. I would give 5 stars if the main dish was more cohesive. I got the korean ribs. But it came with chorizo potatoes and corn. Best corn ive ever had btw, the herb butter on it will be in my dreams. I really really wish the ribs came with a nice fresh fried rice and korean cucumbers and the corn and potatoes were paired with something else. So much potential but i think the chef missed the mark on the pairing.
5 of us went here the other day and every was great! The only reason this score is not a 5 is that there was a little too much salt in the Mushroom soup(otherwise super yummy) the fries (same) and the burger(would have been the best burger ever). We all shared bites of iach others meals and agreed that we loved everything except for the heavy handed salt. We will come again
I live in the area have been for years. Lived here before this building was even messed with or the other restaurant next to it before it was even that. This was my first time going into a bar so even though I was anxious. It was my choice of being there. There was a good environment. A bit dark but maybe that how its supposed to be like I said I've never been in a bar before. Bought my first beer inside a bar so that was good. Even though its my 5th beer I've bought since turning 21. I wasn't wanting to go in for a while because you can't see in so I though it had like x rated stuff like servers who bring you your food in a skimpy out fit but thankfully it didn't have that so that false assumption vanished in a flash. My brother told me they had the best Burgers. I didn't want to say anything about it because I usually get my Burgers at Denny's but man that was a good burger. Its pricey in the end with other people you're with but that burger was the best I've had. Sorry Denney's but your burgers aren't always the best the first time you've someone has one and I think that's true at every burger place. Either they know how to cook it perfect each time or they've just got the magic touch. I'm still craving on but I crave saving money more than a want I have. Perfect score unlike The Last Jedi.
Great ambience, looks like a Seattle night club on the inside, but it is just a chill bar. Food looks so good you just want to take pictures of it, but tastes amazing nonetheless. Downside, they don't have a blender for certain drinks. Regardless, great menu of drinks and food. Will definitely go again
We couldn't find anywhere near PLU that had outdoor seating for 20, allowed kids, and a dog. Not only did Chris at Bar Bistro say, "Come on over," but moved extra tables, umbrellas and put our kids orders in asap so they could get back to their tournament. Can't thank them enough!
I can't stop raving about this place. Im so glad it's so near our house but bummer out we didn't discover it sooner in the summer and we could have walked over. Really an incredible place, unexpectedly good. Definitely a pleasant surprise in our neighborhood. We've driven by it a thousand times saying we should check it it and did so last saturday for my sister's birthday. We grabbed a booth, they are family friendly till 9 so the little ones with us were perfectly welcome. We had a few beers and cocktails (amazing Moscow mule that i had to slow down and savor since it was delightful and local beers), tried the apps (muscles, tapas, and toastato thingies that were all incredible) then since we were a party of 7 with 2 kiddos we each tried a different entre (paelle, rib eye, crab bique, burger, lamb shank, smoked salmon carbonara <3 and the kids had mac n cheese and nuggets n fries) We ended up passing forks around so we could all share and savor. Even nibbled on the kids treats, these guys can make a seriously good sweet potato fry and I don't even like SP fries. Then they brought out a brownie with a candle for my sister at the end so we ordered creme brulee and again shared it all around. In all we were there just shy of 2 hours and left looking forward to another visit very soon. The staff were friendly and not overly attentive, they gave us space to really enjoy the night and the laid back atmosphere. Check this place out, don't pass by again. Skip cooking tonight and let them wow you, totally worth a visit time after time! It's super close to 512 so if you're thinking about jumping on the highway to visit a chain restaurant in Puyallup or Tacoma check this place out instead. It's so much better but with excellent pricing for the excellent food.
The place is clean, the waiter was welcoming at the door. We noticed that there were already a few "Reserved" signs (shortly after 5 pm on a Friday) on tables so we decided to sit in the bar. The bar tender came to take our order. When asked if he could make a couple flavors of lemon drops, he did not have the ingredients. I attempted to joke with him, but he was "lifeless", no clue. I had one cocktail, my husband had 2 beers. The place started to get busy. The bar keep came by a couple times (felt rushed). He said he was getting short on tables & asked us if we would move to the bar. There was a long table for seating for 8 right next to us empty! I told him we were going. Why would I want to spend my luxury dollars at the bar on a date night with husband staring at a zero personality bar tender! Perhaps they should have released the "Reserved" tables; since they were empty for over the hour we were there. My husbands reaction...I guess he's trying to move us out of a table since we didn't order food. Everyone knows the profit margin on cocktails out weighs food. Would have loved to try the food, but after this experience, we took our hard working luxury dollars elsewhere.
It rarely disappoints. This is a great secret spot in Midland. Food is delicious and the staff is pleasant. I enjoy myself everytime I'm here. I enjoy the chef's creativity. Make sure to give it a try.
Another great meal at bar bistro and yummy signature drinks. Amazing atmosphere. First time and this is destined to become my new neighborhood pub. Signature cocktails are amazing. Good was delightful and impressive. I have travelled the world and say this is a must visit....but oh really don't want you all invading my new fav bar bistro. Danielle was impressive and attentive.
I went to the restaurant to celebrate a momentous occasion on Septemeber 19th. The customer service was good and very attentive. The only problem I had is I spent half this night on the toilet. I had food poisoning. I had the calamari, caprese flatbread and a burger with fries. All of which tasted good at the time but again had me on the toilet all night. If you decide to visit this restaurant I would recommend just drinking but not partaking in the food.
Great food! Yummy gluten-free hamburger and BlackBerry Martini that was perfectly blended! Very friendly and welcoming staff. We will definitely go back!
You know how happy you are when you look at a plate that is beautifully presented and then take that bite and say "Oh my goodness" this is amazing... we found this gem about 4months ago. Have made it a weekly ritual and have tried so many things on the menu and never, never been disappointed,,, great friendly service, atmosphere is delightful and food is 5 star!!!
I thought the food here was very good; my partner said the cocktails were good as well. The atmosphere here is dark, with not much in the way of decoration on the walls. I think they're aiming for elegance but I'm not sure they reach that point.
I ordered the pork sandwich from the lunch menu; once I removed the fried onions, I was able to eat it. The taste was decent but the meat was a bit on the dry side for my taste.
I found that it had different types of food things I'm not used to. It's not the type of place that I would go back to only because I'm used to regular restaurants where you can go in and just order a steak. And that's not this kind of restaurant. Just not my style. But it may be yours
Absolutely amazing! This was my first time here and I'll be a satisfied returning customer! Staff was very tentative and the food was nothing short than phenomenal. Bartender is definitely a mixologist!
Barbistro has a winning comination of great service, great food, and a great atmosphere. My wife and I tried Barbistro on a whim one Tuesday night and we were pleasantly surprised. When we walked in, we immediately knew that we misjudged the place by its location. The restaurant has a very modern and classy feel to it. There are several tv's available if you want to watch the game or if you want to watch some music videos which match the music played throughout the restaurant. Our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive and seemed to genuinely care about his customers. We had "Mini pork Shanks" for our appetizer. The meat was tender and flavorful. The coleslaw it sat on had a unique twist and is probably the best colslaw I have had. I ordered the Paella and I would make the drive out (approx 30 minutes) to have the meal again. My wife had the "Grilled Pork Chop" and she said that she loved it. We are very happy to have run into this place and we are likely to return.
My husband and I have been here a handful of times now for date night. Creative mixed drinks, flavorful options and friendly wait staff. Vegetable curry was yummy, saffron rice a little too salty. Paella also a tasty option. Owner is attentive and welcoming. Great option for restaurants in the Parkland /Midland area, where good eats are almost non-existent.
Great food. The macaroni and cheese is extremely rich, and delicious. The Cuban sandwich is incredible. And oh man, the creme brulee is worth the visit alone.
