Bar Bistro Puck Review

My friend and I visited tonight. We arrived a bit early as we were just in from the East coast. Our hotel manager suggested Bar Bistro and we decided to check it out. We both had the filet with chorizo potato hash. Started with wings and ended with dessert. Everything we had tasted incredible. Steak cooked perfectly, deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich, red velvet cake. Just amazing food. It's a touch pricey for some but worth every penny. We were very impressed and intend to make this place a regular stop when we're in town.

Tasty veggie black bean burger-the cilantro lime sauce is key! Their soup of the day was tomato vegetable - was way too salty for me but i brought it home and fixed it to my liking without a problem. I took a few bites of my bf's mac n cheese and woah! So good!! It's too rich for an entree in our opinion, but was perfect to share as an appetizer (I picked off the bacon).

Ill start by saying we had a great meal! Food and cocktail were delicious. This is definitely not the location you would expect food/craft beverages like this. The restaurant itself looks like a nightclub which was very strange. Service was great, however food took nearly an hour to come out. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and steak frites. The server apologized for the wait because of the "rush" but there were only 5 tables. Seems as though they weren't prepared to do much business. Also the kitchen crew was VERY loud. We could hear their conversations, goofing off, and music our entire time there. I really think this place could be 5 if they made a few small adjustments.

Outstanding 5 star service, food and drinks! My boyfriend and I go here on special occasions and when we want to relax on a Sunday night. The bartender remembered what I like even though I hadn't seen her in a while. I love that! Also the food is gorgeous to look at and is always bursting with flavors!

I highly recommend coming here.

Amazing friendly service, waiter and bar tender knowledgeable and fun. Had a Harvey Wall banger. I was a little nervous because I thought it was going to be too sweet. It was not and had a nice kick. Bison sliders delicious! Mac and cheese with crab was good the $4 up-charge for crab worth it. I am giving 4 stars because Mac and cheese was good not great and the crunchiness of a crostini would have made it better. I will return great spot.

Random "Hay let's try someplace new." Absolutely not what I expected. Most places I look at the menu try one or two things and go meh I'm good. This place I want to try everything on the menu. The dessert waffle wast in thr cards today. But the meatloaf sandwich with the house salad was top notch. The bacon was that perfect chewy yet crisp that is do hard to get. I'll be back soon to try the mac n cheese with Dungey soon.

Really good food, very nice inside. The street tacos are lovely!

Excellent food and service. Steak was cooked perfectly. Loved the boullibasse, made with amazing fish broth. Our meat and cheese tray appetizer was worth it. Our server was attentive and friendly. Their parking lot is a little small and was full when we arrived so has to park across the street. Definitely recommend making a reservation.

Wait time kinda long for dinner for a pretty empty restaurant

I come often with the wife for a bite to eat and drinks. Always delicious food and great drinks... never super busy and service was amazing as well. Nice happy hour menu and lots of gluten free options.

This is the best restaurant I've been to in my adult life. I just moved to this area recently and decided to take my wife out on a date and instead of going to the regular ruston waterfront restaurants or out on 6th we decided to give this place a try. Between the timely service, food, and atmosphere this place blew my expectations out of the water. It feels like you just walked into a Seattle restaurant on the main strip on a Friday night. We had our drinks and apps within 10 minutes of sitting down and the food not even 10min after the appetizers hit our table. Our server Michael was the best server I've ever had and didn't think twice about leaving a $25 tip on a $50 meal. Being a parent of a 2ry old and 40+ hour work weeks for me and my wife having a date night is already hard enough and having a phenomenal dining experience like that made by night and will definitely be back again soon

Spent our date night here. Thanks to Adam (sous chef) for stopping in our place and telling us about his restaurant. The service was great. We had Calamari, Caprese Flatbread, and the Cajun Smoked Duck. The duck is the best meal I ve had in a long time! The drinks were really tasty as well. I had the pinche margarita which is made with a liche-li liqueur and my wife had the cool berry martini made with muddled blueberry and mint...super good. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Great little place that we almost missed. The location is a little weird, but there is plenty of parking and one you get inside the place shines. Even though it's a half hour drive from my place, I'll be back to try more from their full and classy menu.

I've tried a new dish every time I go and it's always a beautiful presentation and full of flavor. The service has been very attentive and remarkably sharp. The atmosphere is classy and modern and I just love the mood they set with great music and the lighting is smooth. They always make it a great experience and I can't wait to come back again soon.

Can't say that the neighborhood nor the facility itself suggested a five-star dining experience awaited, but we were absolutely wowed by the food and service. Our server gave us terrific recommendations on both food and drink, and our Sunday lunch date was darn near perfect.

Went here for Tacoma restaurant week and got amazing food for a great price. Every bite was perfection and I will be going back to get more. The bartender was awesome as well, the drinks he made were delicious! Very happy with my experience here.

Every experience I've had at this restaurant seems to be worse than the first one, perhaps the owner should drug test or breathalyze his server and or bartender because they really suck in every way, discourteous, nonchalant and rude

Went in for brunch. Floor was sticky, service was sub par, no bottomless mimosas and food was below average. Don't waste your money

Went here for the first time last week. Such an out of place spot in Midland but I appreciate a nice place so close to home for me. The food was pretty good, and had good drinks. I don t give the full 5 stars only because it is a pricey place. $65 for a salad, sandwich with fries, and a few drinks. $16 for 2 mimosas seemed a little excessive.

My wife and I can t believe this place has been around 4 years and we just found it! 2 visits down and more to come!
Service is just great, Jaclyn has been awesome and spontaneous! The ambiance is nice, not too loud, not to quiet, not to stiff, relaxed, chill, no pressure.
Menu is sufficient in selections to satisfy most anyone! Beer selections are nice although nothing on tap which is a negative if you re draft oriented. Wine selection is adequate, not too many options by the glass, and tonight my cab, tasty as it was, the pour would have filled a sippy cup up less than half full. Maybe the wrist flinched, prior to the complete pour, I hope so, worst pour I have ever seen out to eat.
The rib eye was very excellent quality, chipotle butter was a blast, reminded me of one I had in Tucson at a bar & grill, even though it was over cooked, asked for medium rare and got medium to medium well, for a steak now days anywhere, with prices like they are, it s critical to get the meat right first time out, no excuses.
We will be back, too many other items to try at a nice value and high quality. Plus I live 3 miles away!

Local establishment that has become a staple for us. Fresh, locally sourced menu that is smart and seasonal. Fast, courteous staff. Only downside is the lack of parking and the bar/restraunt proximity.

Best food and drinks around!!! Its insane that little midland washington is where this place ended up!! An absolute gem!!!

Food was delicious, excellent presentation, great atmosphere and decor, unique menu. I got the steak and fries, expecting something very basic, and was surprised to get a quality cut of steak with a Chipotle gravy. Our server whose name I did not get was friendly and anticipated our needs before we did. Our water glasses were never more than half empty. Definitely seems out of place in Parkland, because it's much nicer than anything nearby!

The atmosphere was nice. It gets kind of loud when it fills up. It seemed to fill up pretty quick but they take reservations. The food was excellent. My only complaint was portion size of the duck seemed small for the price but it was really good. Drinks seemed a little expensive as well. I agree that's probably a lot to do with taxes going up. Would go back for a special occasion.

Amazing drinks, aaaaamazing food, reasonable cost and friendly staff. Very attentive to their patrons. The prawn street tacos were amazing as well as a signature drink "Darkness"...This place will be on my radar for rotation.

Every visit is unique in one way or another. Pure perfection. If I had a daughter I'd want her first date to be here.

Great food and service. A little pricey on there dinners.

I ate the Angus Burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. And the sweet potato fries that came with it were stellar. Add in the creme brulee, and your taste buds will thank you forever. The staff was excellent. I will definitely be going back.

It was right after the hawks game so it was quiet. Sat right away and got our food quickly.

Always enjoy coming here. Food is fantastic and the employees are always courteous and there to help and get you more drinks, etc. Menu changes periodically, but I've never had something bad. Mixed drinks and beer menu are great too, try the Darkness!

As stated before, don t judge the quality of the insides based on the outside. My wife had the mixed green salad- great portion size. I had the crab bisque, creamy with a strong tomato base. I had the Mac-n-cheese. Wouldn t do that again as it was quite heavy. My wife had the paella, tasty but a small portion of rice.

Excellent meal at a reasonable price. Friendly service compliment a nice establishment.

If you are in the Tacoma area, make a reservation here immediately. This establishment will not disappoint! Unbelievable quality with a friendly and extremely hard working staff. Prepare to be dazzled by the presentation of your food, and the manner in which it is prepared!

We have been there 3 different times (our anniversary dinner, Easter brunch, & father's day brunch). The food is good, the drinks are over-priced $9 for a mimosa is crazy when the "bloody meal" is only $10, and sometimes the service is poor. On Easter the service was great, one server and she helped like 5 tables no problem. Today, father's day, the waitress was horrible. I had to ask 2x for a refill, the food came out luke warm which means it had been sitting and it was just all around poor service. For the price I won't be going back any time soon...

Before I begin, I want to say that I have never been more impressed with a restaurant. As I drove home, I tried to find one flaw but could have think of any. Usually a place has good food and bad service, or good service and decent food but isn t clean. This place delivered solid 5 star ratings across all my categories of service, cleanliness, atmosphere, and food. As vegetarians we are fairly reluctant to dine out, because the meatless dishes on a menu are almost always treated as an afterthought and as a decent cook I resent paying money for mediocre or even terrible food. We were looking for somewhere we could have a nice dinner for date night and just stumbled across this place on a google search. It is kind of off the beaten path in terms of location but we were so intrigued by the menu we decided to go check it out. Immediately I was impressed by how clean everything was. My feet didn t stick to the floor, the tables didn t have any residue, the place looked brand new, the walls were clean, the furniture in good repair, and the bathroom was spotless! The menu offered multiple vegetarian options so we indulged with an appetizer, two entrees, desserts, and drinks. The food was so good that I nearly doubled over my bowl and wept. Dishes that I have seen ruined a million times (gnocchi and mac and cheese) were prepared at a 5 star chef level. I knew immediately I could never recreate this at home, and that I could no longer take pride in my personal mac and cheese recipe. Every single dish was perfect. I was astonished, having never found a place this good in Washington, I thought myself in some fever dream. The service was exceptional, and though we were tucked into a corner and there was a very large dinner group there our server was taking care of, he never ignored us and constantly came back to check on us. We ordered wine and a cocktail and both were just as well prepared and delicious as our food was. We had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, and he was humble and gracious while receiving our praises. The prices were also very reasonable and the portions were decent sized. This place truly delivers the whole package. I had no idea this gem had been hiding on Portland Ave this entire time, but I m so glad I found it now. If you haven t checked them out, I cannot recommend it enough. Here is your new place to eat.

Always great food. We come in know and then and haven't had a bad meal. Service will depend on how busy they are. I recommend it also as a good lunch spot.

First visit and I am hooked! Had a great time with my two sisters and will be back soon with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend! So close to home and totally fabulous food!
