Just awful! Way overpriced for what you get. The expensive filet mignon was quite possibly the worst filet I've ever had. It was flavorless and somewhat chewy. It was supposed to be served with a type of Yukon gold potato and chorizo hash...but it was basically just some slices of plain potato. I didn't notice any chorizo. The lobster carbonara was also flavorless and very dry. Some egg noodles with some frozen peas and previously frozen lobster. Nothing was fresh. I can't believe that they charge such crazy high prices for food that is lacking in both flavor and quality. I should've known this was going to be a bad dining experience when I was served Boursin on the Charcuterie board.

This meal has by far been the best I have had in a long time! The food was outstanding. So many great, unique flavors all in one dish. We split the street tacos which I did not get a picture of. Magnificent. Our main dish, the pork cheeks, were insanely, melt in your mouth tender. The polenta was the best I have ever tried. The collard greens were cooked perfectly. We were even able to speak to the chef and learn his background.. and he suggested trying the carrot cake. He did not steer us wrong. I wish I could rate it higher than a 5. I strongly recommend.

Had a spectacular experience the first time I came here, then a couple weeks later had a not so great experience. Im hoping it was just a bad night for them.
Im all for supporting local small businesses so I think it's definitely worth visiting for a good drink and good meal. They cook fresh and their menu changes periodically.

We went to this location for a birthday celebration and we had an AMAZING time. Staff was friendly and fun (we can be kinda hype when we're out) and they made us feel really comfortable. The atmosphere is great! Everything we tried from the menu was WONDERFUL (I am a very PICKY eater)! This place maybe our new date night/hangout location!

I wish I had found Bar Bistro sooner, great service and great food. It has become our regular date night location, the variety and quality is outstanding, even when ordered to go during these interesting times.

Thank you!

Love this place . Been here for a couple of date nights and the drinks are excellent! I loved the drinks so much I purchased them for our wedding and the owner was great at helping us get the amount and directions on how to prepare them. Bartender Barry was great to talk to, super knowledgeable and personable. Go here on a date or alone - you won t be disappointed!

Our first visit was a very busy Saturday night. Outside, it's very unassuming. Inside, it was candles-on-the-table dark, with a cool vibe. Trendy. Loud (lots of extra noise from the music over the talking from customers.)

The service was amazing and very attentive.

The appetizer was VERY good! I'd recommend the mussels in creamy wine sauce any time.

The Paella, however, was dry and not very flavorful/well seasoned. Don't waste your money on that dish, at least not on a busy Saturday night. Ugh

My husband's pork cheek was good, super tender, but not amazing. We wondered if it was worth the price, as well.

Chocolate Mousse for dessert was quite good. I liked the dark chocolate dusting on the whipped cream.

Overall, I wanted to give it a 2-star because $100 for a subpar meal is never acceptable. But, the service and appetizer bumped it up.

Maybe ask for the special or see what the staff recommends. I usually do that at new places, but forgot; just went in hungry, and left a little disappointed.

Excellent food, friendly service, generous portions, creative drinks and reasonably priced. Everyone in our large group enjoyed their meal and planned on returning to try other tempting menu options. This is NOT fast food, but well worth the wait (depending on what you order).

Great service, modern atmosphere- this hidden gem in Midland is tough to beat locally.

Their atmosphere and decor is pretty low key, but keep in mind that due to their small size, it can be noisy at times on weeknights. There are always music videos playing on the array of TVs over the bar. One night it was a Justin Timberlake marathon- which I'm not entirely opposed to; that man knows how to dance.

Be sure and try the steamed clams and the bloody Mary's. Be sure to note that they have a very good beer selection (bottles only; no taps) and make some good house cocktails.

Their appetizers are excellent, although we hear our favorite the Bree is getting removed when the menus get revamped, which is sad.

Overall a great escape from Spanaway, and worthy the drive for those in Tacoma or Puyallup looking for a great, lower key night out with a few friends for dinner.
