Just received a Savings Account statement today 08...

Just received a Savings Account statement today 08 Apr 2020, dated 31 Mar 2020 for the first 3 months of this year. Altabank really takes care of their customers; if you don't mind earning a 0.05% Annual Percentage Yield amounting to .12 interest for the first three months of 2020, while they willingly charge the customer a monthly Paper Statement Fee of $3.00!
I didn't ask for any stinking statements by mail; I only expect statements when doing a personal transaction at the Tremonton facility; which I usually had to ask for! Things ran smoothly before Livingston State Bank got gobbled up. No longer will I unknowingly pay Altabank $3.00 a month to have access to petty cash because my primary accounts are a thousand miles away. Debit cards/cash back will work just fine. A total rip off! If any bank staff read these reviews, notify Tremonton that I will be there Friday 10 Apr 2020 for a cash withdrawal of the remaining balance in the account and close same.

I do most of my business with the Lehi branch, but got a vehicle loan from the main office in American Fork. The loan officer was very helpful and easy to work with. My needs were met and throughout the loan, they have taken very good care of me. The customer service was excellent and I appreciate that they treat me as an important part of their organization. I have banked with them for many years due to the way I have been treated. I highly recommend them.

The worst bank both personally and professionally....

The worst bank both personally and professionally. The wait time on hold over 10 minutes to speak to a customer service rep. They have a recording how they encourage their cs rep to spend as much time as needed per customer. THAN HIRE ADDITIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. I am closing both my personal accounts and recommending the closing of professional accounts.

This is a review of one of my businesses that bank with this bank, my other review is my personal account. I have banked at this bank since the early 90's, i have had them run coin for me in the past about $800-$1400/week because as a benefit of being a member they run the coin for free. i have several accounts with them. they are now telling me they are charging me for the free benefit that they offered me. I would not recommend a lying bank like this one. The name of the Manager that said this is the way it is was Shannon Johnson and Sherry Custance was the person that relayed the info. very dissatisfied by how they are now. most of the tellers are amazing though, but management are liars and could care less.

I have had accounts with the Lehi branch of bank of American fork for about 20 years. I have always had attentive service. I always felt like a person and not just another account. I moved from the state about 3 years ago and I still maintained 1 account at B.A.F., just because I loved the bank. I am sad that I had to close the account last week because I don't live anywhere near the bank and it was difficult to use from my current location. I would recommend anyone looking for a good bank to bank at American fork.

Still angry and upset because Murray branch STOLE $500. On the 9th day of my 7-10 day wait period the manager was in the drive thru. I asked why the wait for a debit card? This was after large deposit of a federal tax check and the answer to my question was closing account. No profanity was used, not tell I drove off. After check funds, paperwork and having customer service help I had ZERO HELP from manager. She was absolutely the source of my worst customer service experience ever had in my life. Small claims court seems to be the answer.

Have been with them since I was 16! And parents as well! They're always super informative and helpful. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that when I make a big transaction they notify immediately by text to make sure it was my purchase and not a fraud purchase. Best perk EVER.

Trying to buy some furniture and our card got turn...

Trying to buy some furniture and our card got turned down even though we have more than ten times the amount of our purchase in the account. We've had issues with the daily limit before and they assured us that the problem was solved. We tried calling the customer service number and got left on hold for over half an hour where we got to listen to how wonderful Alta bank is and how much they value their customers.

Alta Bank reached out and made some concessions to try to make up for all the inconvenience they caused us. I changed the rating from one star to two. We'll see if their customer service improves. Since the switch from Bank of American Fork it's not been very good.

I was thoroughly frustrated by my experience here. As I work full time, I got off work an hour early so I could cash a check since they close at 6 according to their online hours. I showed up at 5:10 and they were closing, and wouldn't help me. Very frustrating, very rude. Please fix your hours if you do close at an earlier time so people aren't mislead.

Recently my wife and I wanted to get a home equity loan. We had a great experience with the bank over 2 years ago and so we contacted the bank again. We worked with Lisa Bennett and she was fantastic to work with. Lisa is professional, patient, accommodating, and we were so pleased with the whole process - from contacting the bank, the home appraisal process, emails back and forth, and the final signing. We highly recommend ALTABANK to anyone.

I'm a customer with this bank and I'm getting frustrated. I'm with the army and I'm deployed in another country, the first day I arrived here I find that someone used my card information back in the US, so I had to cancel my card.

I requested a new card and it didn't arrive for a month and a half so my father, who has legal access to my account information, got another oneand sent me the information so I could at least make online payment for school and other monthly expenses.

I received my card yesterday and activated it, I tried to use it at a restaurant but it was declined and my bank thought it was fraud. So I called them (which costs me extra since I'm calling from another country) and the person who "helped" me didn't offer any solutions, she just said I'm not allowed to have two cards on my account.

I'm confused because my father went to the bank and the solution they, at the bank, offered him was to get me two cards and send one to me and he keeps the other while I use it for online stuff. But when I call them to get their help so I can use this card while I'm in another country with no other method to pay for things, the woman just tells me I can't have two cards. I explained my situation, told her I just want to use the card that I received in the mail yesterday that I'm holding in my hand, but she just says I can't. I hung up and said I'd call later.

I called today and I'm disappointed that they don't have any way of helping me on the weekends. If I have an issue with my card, it's not guaranteed that it will happen between 9-5 Monday-Friday. I need help. I can't pay for things. I'm in another country and I'm just screwed over.

If this issue is resolved appropriately I might change my review.

Be careful who you use to open a loan with. Not all want to help you at Alta. We were told when we opened a construction loan that we could term out at any time. March we opened, then life happened and we need to term out our loan, no construction started. We asked to close on May 20th, only when we asked to talk with a Manager on June 16th did we get a resolution. The two stars are because the Regional Manger Layne was amazing to work with. We were told there need to be another appraisal done on the land to close, we understood. Now July 9, we are being asked to do a full new application and supporting documents AFTER we were told this was settled. At anytime in the past 4 weeks we could have provided this to help close this out, instead we now have accrued two additional months of interest on a large loan and still no time line on when we can expect this to be done. They were so willing to help us in the beginning and now because a large amount of money isn t coming into their bank we are pushed aside. We may have been naive and have to pay for that now, but that doesn t mean others have to experience this as well. We thought we did enough research, if you need to open a loan with them processed with caution.

Bank of AF has lost me as a customer! They cashed a third party check for me and withdrew some money from it a couple of weeks ago.. ZERO problems or questions asked. I went today to cash another third party check and wanted to withdraw some of the money... and the young man there had an older woman come up and asked her some questions about it.... the older woman then told me she wouldn't cash the check for me. And proceeded to ask me if anyone inside the bank knew me personally so they could vouch for me that the check wouldn't bounce... I said um no? How dare she question my integrity. Are you joking me? That was that. They wouldn't cash my check. When I demanded to know why the heck they let me do it last time- all they could say was sorry, the previous teller shouldn't have done that.
Well bank of AF, it's not really fair to change your policies on your customers and have no explanation why. I recommend you train your employees better because apparently the first teller had no idea what she was doing- and today the young man teller had no idea either.

There are plenty of funds in my account but I m unable to make purchases or get money out of the atm . And because it s the weekend you don t have customer service available. I will be closing my account on Monday.

The service is poor in the sandy branch. Each and every time I go in to perform a simple transaction like transferring from one Acountant to anther the cashier goes to upper management ,as if I am trying to pull something of. Management tells the answer to this is the cashier doesn t know that the checking withdraw slip and checking deposit slip are available to customers in the lobby. I don t beleave that being in the other alpine Draper branch they have been for years. This is just an unprofessional excuse.

I ve had an account with them for over 20 years. Their service has always been amazing which is why I kept the account open even though I moved out of the state over 3 years ago. Highly recommended!

We transitioned our business accounts to Altabank in 2019, because they were supposedly more capable for business banking. After working with them for over a year, I have to share that our experience was extremely disappointing. In addition to being very disorganized (we can't even access our banking statements without contacting their offices). There are 3-4 people you will need to interface with to get ANYTHING done. If you want to send a wire, they require you to encode like 30 lines of data, and if it's not done perfectly, the wire won't be sent. They have a pin security feature, but the text validation often doesn't work, causing wires to not be sent. Their fee schedule on business banking has all kinds of tick tack fees, that are buried in a statement. Their online capabilities are extremely limited. We also had an extremely bad experience with our business line of credit. We were regularly given bad information by one of their VP's. We had to continually ask questions, because the information we were being given was incorrect. Basic information, such as payoff date, balance information was provided incorrectly. I was told our loan was over 30 days past due, when in fact it wasn't. We were given 30 days to pay a 6 figure balance off, which we did. In a seperate instance, we were applying for the PPP loan, and I was told by our lending VP that "they weren't offering it". Which is when I had to find another bank to process our application. I jumped through all the hoops with another lender and secured our PPP loan... Then two weeks later, our lending VP told me "he was sorry he couldn't call me back because he was too busy processing PPP applications." This is a small ball bank. I wouldn't bother with them. It will only be frustrating. They offer no apologies, and no improved service.

Working with Altabank for a mortgage on our new house was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! We will never use this bank again or recommend them to anyone. The lenders working on our file were terrible at communicating with us. We had to call all the time to find out if we were on track and to verify how the process was going. We gave them all the documents required, and then when we would call, they would ask us to provide the same documents over and over again. There was no continuity between the lenders working on our case and they seemed to lose our documents all the time. Because of Altabank, our closing date got pushed back 4 different times and we ended up closing 2 weeks late. Their lack of communication was completely unprofessional and made this process so frustrating. It was like pulling teeth to get anyone to answer emails or phone calls from us or the title company. DO NOT USE THIS BANK!!!

There is no logical reason to do business with this bank when there are infinitely better options. Numerous, long-time employees jumping ship, low employee morale and sub-par products. Executive management is clueless and out of touch. Run, don't walk, to the better banking institutions out there.

Do NOT get a loan from them. We refinanced and it has been a fiasco IF I m putting it lightly. From one loan officer quitting in the MIDDLE of our refinance to someone retiring and causing a mass confusion of which loan was sold where, I m extremely angry and mad at Alta Bank. DO NOT GET A LOAN FROM THEM. Alta Bank - You have my info, you can contact me if you wish. This has been a terrible experience EXCEPT for the current loan officer that handled our refinance. Even then he didn t have all the information all the time, and was jumbled especially in the beginning when the previous loan officer quit (that should ve been my cue). Management needs to pull their heads out and train, then empower their employees. If any employee gets wrath over this review take this review to their boss. It s the BOSSES AND MANAGERS fault and failure, NOT YOURS. One upset, angry soon to be ex customer. I m tired of being jerked around by Alta Bank. Goodbye

I just left an employer I really liked. Who knew that Altabank was even better!!! I have been welcomed by friendly staff and the bank culture is amazing. I love working for Altabank. Three great banks all in one new name. Same great service and products, now were just able to help everyone at all locations. Come see the new full service Pleasant Grove Grove Creek Branch(no drive up). Located just North of the BMW dealership.
