I placed my online order on Feb. 3, 2015. They didn't even cash my check until Feb. 20, and I have not even heard from them yet about when they might decide to send my order...or not. I've been a customer for a long time, and every year, the prices go up and the service goes down, down, down! This is it for me. No more buying from these deadbeats.
Love this place and the festivals are always fun to attend. Seeds are reasonably priced and they are heirloom non-GMO.

This is most beautiful, serene, healthy, and happy place I have ever been blessed to visit. Seeds produce beautiful edibles. Vintage shopping is exciting. Vegan restaurant is amazingly good and satisfying. Touring the gardens is educational and motivated us to achieve the beauty in our own gardens. Very informative staff and lovely shopping area with helpful products for home and garden. Will plan to return repeatedly!

Baker Creek is my FAVORITE seed source. They have an awesome variety at good prices. Their incredible variety offered in their free catalog is what inspired my interest in gardening, and I am hooked now! I grew the most delicious varieties of eggplants and peppers last year, not to mention the overwhelming number of cucumbers and beans I produced with their seeds. Also, if you live nearby, I would suggest going to their physical location, it's quaint and adorable, plus they sell their seeds and other healthful goodies right there. The festivals are ever so much fun, as well. I'm so looking forward to the Spring Planting Festival this May! Thank you Baker Creek for turning me into a gardener!

I love going to Baker's. They have amazing customer service, great products, and reasonable prices. They have an extremely knowledgeable staff who are always willing to answer any questions you may have.
Driven by this place many times, but have never stopped. Today was the day! Great general store and bakery. Veggie burgers are awesome! A bit quiet because of the season, but it's a must see!

I had my hopes up so much for this place, we got there on a Sunday morning at opening time. But there was no one around. All the doors were locked. My husband went looking for someone had to ask about getting into the shops and the gentlemen unlocked the door to the seed shop so I could look around, after 30-45 minutes of my browsing the seeds, I had picked out to buy about $30 dollars worth and he didn't know how to run the register and the lady who did wasn't there. We kindly waited for her to get there and I was able to make my purchase. I had heard so much good stuff about this place and was so excited about going. I heard how much fun it was, the music, the food, the gardens, and on and on and I couldn't wait to go. But my experience was none of that and ended up just being a stop off for a few packs of seeds. Which I could have done at any local Seed store, or the internet. I just don't understand why you post that you open at a certain time and then when people show up nothing is open. Disappointed

I got about 50 types of tomatoes from here! They all produced, awesome plants and just a wonderful resource! We're so lucky to have them out here! We stop here now and then to visit the donation only vegan restaurant. They have some of the best chefs in the county here! Awesome gardens, nice and friendly staff!

Ive been ordering from Baker Creek for years, but sadly today is the last time I'm dealing with this company. I ordered seeds on the 19th of April paid a ridiculous amount to ship them and here on the 10th of May they still have not arrived. I call in and they just say "sorry looks like they are shipping today" I canceled the order and told them for being a nationwide seed company they need to hire more employees or at least hire an internet tech person to email people to let them know the status of their orders. It took me a few hours on hold with the company today to actually get a person on the phone to talk to. SO frustrated especially when the same week I ordered from 2 other national seed companies and the orders came in within 3 business days. DISAPPOINTED!!
Love this company! Ordered seeds online and everything including the free seeds they gifted us sprouted quickly and grew strong and healthy. We grow in straw bales and were a bit concerned on how they would perform. No need for worries. We will definitely order again, especially since we have their awesome seed catalog. Thanks guys.
If you like gardening or old-school pioneer style places, this place is awesome. It's a little far out in the middle of nowhere but not much isn't when you get outside of Springfield. They have all the seeds you can imagine and a ton of stuff to see. If you go on the first Sunday of the month thru October, they have a big festival and auction that's worth checking out. I'd definitely recommend.

I live close by and work there part-time. On-site restaurant provides vegetarian lunches, some food grown there. Get along well with all employees and the owner.
UPDATE: SPRING GARDEN IS LOOKING MUCH BETTER. THEIR SQUASH, LONG BEANS, AND CUCUMBERS ARE DOING NICELY. I was so excited to have an early Spring garden. I ordered carrots, and chard to plant early in Zone 9. Almost All of these seeds were duds. I think I have one zero carrots and one chard plant that sprouted. I planted some kale I bought from another company and it is growing well. Not sure about my spring garden seeds I ordered from them yet. I hope I have better luck with my lettuce, cukes and squash. Not sure I will rely on just using their seeds.

I placed a $200.00 online. The very day they shipped my order they sent out an email offering their Whole Seed Catalog for free with any $50.00 order. I thought when I received my order it would contain the free catalog. Nope. Okay, no problem. I send a nice email explaining the situation, fully expecting a nice response. Wrong again. What I got was an email from Lisa C. saying my order was placed prior to the when they initiated offer and that she had no way to send me the catalog for free. This is the same catalog that I had bought and paid for the previous year not only for myself but for my daughter as well.
Well nearly two months later I realize I still have not gotten the (5) dahlia bulbs from this same order so I send another email again explaining nicely about the catalog offer and that I would appreciate it if they could send me the catalog with my dahlia bulbs that they had apparently forgotten to ship. Several days later I get an email from them that consists of two items: A copy of my original receipt, and a tracking# showing that something was being shipped to me. No apology, no explanation as to why it took so long - just a tracking#. Okay, well I don't know where you guys went to customer service school at but where I come from that is just downright rude! And to make matters worse, I got the package in from them yesterday, opened it to find only (2) dahlia bulbs instead of the (5) they charged for. Wow. I was going to make a small dahlia bed at the side of my greenhouse. WTH am I going to make with 2 dahlia bulbs? Oh... and they still didn't send me a catalog. That's okay guys, I will no longer be needing it as you made it abundantly clear on several occasions that you did not need my business.
We Set up as a vender on Sunday with strawberries, goat milk soap, spindles & wool. It was a wonderful experience! Just can't wait to visit next month and the music was amazing! Also really neat animals, the koi were huge and the sheep wooly thank you for a great day and such a happy time.
What a fun variety of funky colored heirloom vegetable seeds! Good prices, shipped promptly, and fun getting a surprise free seed. Given all the good reviews I have no doubt these will germinate and I'm sure I'll be back to order again next year.

I just had the most pleasant exchange with this company. I decided last minute to buy some seeds as a Christmas present. I ordered online and called to see about expedited shipping. We need more companies like this. They have such quality seeds almost 98% germination for me Would love if they could expand their tree seed collection would love carob, acacia, mesquite seeds and more rare varieties like the ice cream bean but maybe one day

Such an amazing place! This was on my bucket list for a long time, and we finally got to go check Baker's Creek out during the Seed Festival! Beautiful grounds, the seed store is awesome, they even have a vintage theater room where you can watch videos of Jere and his family traveling the world to find heirloom seed! The tour of the seed sorter, order filling warehouse, and greenhouses were so much fun and eye opening. I buy seed from Baker's Creek every other year, and now we will definitely return for the next seed Festival! The drive up through the Ozarks and getting to see the home of Laura Engalls was an added bonus!

I did not have a good experience with this company. I tried contacting them multiple times by email And got one reply that didn t answer my questions I had emailed them. My seeds were also not very good. The cucumbers I bought, 100% of them never grew. Other tomatoes, lettuce, and vegetables also had a pretty low germination rate. When I was able to harvest some of the tomatoes they were not very good tasting. Overall, very disappointed and will not buy from them again

Don t know what s happen this year to this company? But the seeds are nowhere as good they use to be tell you a min of 25 seeds the packs have maybe 5 if your lucky. Bought 6 different kinds of peppers None came up I ordered two different times this year but probably NEVER Again. FYI I ve haven t called them yet but first thing tomorrow I will And my germinate rate is probably 10% if that and I planted a lot of other companies seeds at the same time and there doing great
