Festival was great. Lots of plants to choose from....
Festival was great. Lots of plants to choose from. Not enough food vendors and place was packed. Enjoyed the guest speakers. They were worth tackling the crowd.

The worst dealer in this market! Why? 1.The highest prices and on top of it they charge shipping, others don't, they have charged us $5.50 for 20 Red Okra seeds + shipping!!! I paid on ebay same seeds $1.50 for 25 seeds free shipping they charge more than 4 times!! ( compare it on eBay). 2.They do not specify % of germination, others do! 3.They do not specify any batch testing ! 4. Poor instructions and description but they do use words as: Lovely, colorful,Beautiful, Delicious,Unique and so forth. One star should be given for the pictures on the seed's bags and the stunning site to attract buyers. I buy only from other suppliers, cheaper and faster. unfortunately my wife bought it here without my knowledge and she will never buy from them again.
Very fun and brings you back to when we had to grow our own food and depend more on ourselves and not the easiness of something like a grocery store!! Also AMAZING music!
A definite must see if you're in the area. The festivals are great, the seed selection is amazing, of course, and the grounds are so fun.
The people here are very friendly. It's gorgeous with tons of flowers and plants. The food at the Ozark Hotel is amazing.
What's not to love? A plethora of seeds, plants, and interesting stuff to see. And a highly talented and entertaining musical family as owners. I would rent a room and live there if they would let me.
We recently moved here from Wisconsin. Our friends that convinced us to make the move, suggested a visit here. We are in love with this place! It has nostalgic appeal with period structures & vendors. The free entertainment was SUPERB! We are on an extreme budget limit, but feel the visit was equal to anything we could have done with a hundred dollars or more at some more commercial places to visit.
My few orders have been perfect and timely. This week I recieved a letter with two seed packets in it because my last order didn't contain the usual free seed pack. This really spoke to their customer service for me. I can't believe they made a point to send me something that was already free, plus some for the "inconvenience". I see myself being a customer for a long time.
Had a great time bought some seeds for spring when ever it gets here
Love, love, love them! One of my favorite spring events is their annual planting festival! I get almost all of my seeds from them.
A little difficult navigating the hills, but lots of great vendors, interesting operation. From seeds to table. Growing what they use in the restaurant, packaging and shipping seeds. Worth the tour.
Great family environment with every seed imaginable
We ordered the seeds online on their very helpful and easy-to-use website. The seeds were delivered in timely fashion and in good quality. Very good, I'll definitely be ordering from them again! Can't wait to plant in the spring!
Beautiful, peaceful place to explore with so many interesting seeds to choose from. Veggie Palace was delicious and staff were kind.
BEST place to buy seeds hands down! Love the selection, super fast shipping, and they always include free seeds!!! Excellent customer service! LOVE them!
Great place for seeds and the annual planting festival is an awesome experience for the whole family.
Excellent seeds at a great price. Baker Creek is so on top of getting the seeds shipped out asap!! We have ordered from this family owned company for years and have always been more than thrilled with their seeds!
My wife and I decided to try Baker Creek Seeds based on a review by Living Tradition Homestead. We are so glad we did. We made two separate orders this spring. Shipping was very fast. The seeds are awesome. Almost every seed germinated. To have such a huge catalog it is very well organized and easy to follow. We will be buying exclusively from Baker Creek in the future.
This source of seeds doesn t account for regional differences. Two years of great tomato gardens left me over confident. I used all baker seeds last year and went from canning 300 jars to maybe 50. Find seeds that work for your area not from these guys. They rave about their green tomatoes for example never harvested one.
Love this place and love their seed festivals. They are lots of fun.
I love going to Baker's. Their seed selection is great.
Have purchased seeds from them for many years with exalent results. Had the opportunity to go there and eat lunch, the food was amazing. The people are friendly and very helpful. We look forward to going back in the summer.
I really like this company. Even if you buy only one thing you always get a pack of free seeds, plus shipping is always free!
What a wonderful surprise this was. We will be back for sure!
My friends and I enjoy the restaurants at Baker Creek. Healthy food served with a smile.
Personally, I do like the seed and the variety offered, but it is kind of spendy.
I love this place. We try to stop in when we drive through from Texas to Canada. I bought the best tasting home prepared grape jelly there a few years back and bought some again on our last trip. So delicious. They have a donation for their all vegan cafe. They accomadated my allergies. The food was delicious.
Unique seeds for my upcoming garden. I prefer the festival in May. I love the whole concept.
If you're looking to find unusual and interesting seeds for your garden, look no further. I love this company. Everything I've ordered has had a germination rate of 80 percent or better, and they are very responsive to any problems or order issues. Plus, you can find seeds and live plants of unusual varieties of so many species for an excellent price. Free shipping in the us and they send out a free seed pack (or multiple for big orders) with every order.
Picked up a fairly wide variety of seeds for spring and summer gardening. Everything planted so far - spring stuff outside and summer as indoor seedlings - has germinated well and is growing vigorously. One month in I have begun harvesting greens and radishes. With luck, things keep booming along. Only thing that was a bust was only one ground cherry seed in the pack germinated, but I have heard that they have a very low germination rate (and there was a mystery tomato in there too - it germinated, lol). I'm going to grow it as a lark. Who knows what it is? Anyway, overall very good - big healthy plants and quick shipment. Keep it up. I'll be back.
Very nice and helpful people. Very pretty.will be ordering my seeds from them next year.
We have ordered seeds and plants from them for a few years. I have great success with everything I get from them. Prices are very good and shipping is always quick. We get almost all of our seeds from them now. Their variety can't be beat!
Most interesting heirloom varieties available at Baker Creek. Always have very high germination rates.
The germination rate is very low, my biggest disappointment would be I bought several kinds of pumpkin seeds but ended up with a bunch of yellow squash. The village would be worth a visit again if they could get their quality control with seeds under control.
So cool!! Enjoyed it so much wish I could have bought 1 of everything!!!
Great little pioneer village. The cinnamon rolls at the Bakery are to die for. Great selection on all sorts of varieties of seeds too.
Great place to work.
Not happy with this company. We have a farm and ordered more than 3 weeks ago, never got our order. We asked if they could please overnight our order, as now we have lost so much growing time, they said no.
Won t order from this company again.
Just wow the place is awesome and the people we met were very courteous
Great company. I've been ordering seed from them for several years, and have always had good luck. I finally had a chance to visit their village out in the country last week. It was a great experience. The donation based restaurant had really amazing food, and a lot of the vegetables used are grown right there. The multitude of gardens, livestock, and little shops all over the property are definitely worth your time, as is the main seed store with its massive selection of seed.
Best place to learn homesteading from the pro and up and coming.
The festival is all you imagine and more so we will go again.
Their festivals are so worth it. They have such inspirational speakers, and I learned so much. My sister and I had a blast when we went, and can't wait to do it again. We planted the heirloom seeds we bought at this year's planting festival, and our garden has never been so prolific and healthy! If you need to invest time in your health guys, this is the place to start.
Fantastic experience with Baker Creek. High germination rate in all varieties I've started so far. 5 types of peppers, 2 types of tomatoes, and eggplant. I got to start all these the earliest, but if my germination rates are even half of what they are so far, I'll be very very very happy!!!!
Good selection of heirlooms. Not the cheapest place for rare seeds, but so far good quality!!!! :-)
Ordered seeds on-line on a Saturday night, received them the next Wednesday - great service. Love the seed packaging. Can't wait to grow them.
Horrible customer service. Never received an order and when I reached out to them via email they could not care less about helping me and were rude. So there goes my money .
I have only ordered from the catalog but I hope to visit there one day.
Great service. Great seeds. Will order from them again.
Can you say AWESOME SEED CHOICES?! LOVED OUR visit!
Heirloom seeds from around the world! I love these wonderful varieties from a grower that I can trust to sell the best quality seeds. The village is well worth a trip. Children especially love it as they can see the farm animals. Come hungry, lunch is a special treat.
All great things to say about this place. I was able to speak to Mr. Gettle the owner, it was late in the evening when we were passing through. He was a real genuine person that cared, and was a pleasure to speak with him. I have been buying seeds from Baker Creek for a couple of years now, and have not recieved a bad one yet, and the best thing about it is that they are all heirloom seeds. NO GMO's at Baker Creek. I truly Look forward to spending a couple days at the planting festival here in May.
Amazing place with so much to see. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I've ordered seeds from them online before, but seeing the farm was an amazing experience. Will definitely come back!
I bought tomato and watermelon seeds from Baker Creek this year and bought grown plants from a big name store because I started my seeds a little late. Even though the pre grown plants were bigger and transplanted earlier than what I grew from baker creek seeds the Baker Creek plants are nearly twice aa big now and much healthier looking. I also have got nearly double the harvest from them.
So happy to have found this place! I ordered seeds in the spring and was so impressed with how they did, that I put in a second order midsummer thanks to their suggestions for summer plantings. The free shipping is a great incentive to buy more seeds. They offer such a great selection of unusual varieties. I even bought their amazing catalog on sale. My garden has never looked so good. Thanks!
I've bought seed from them for several years now, and I've been delighted with the selection, quality, and customer service I've received at Baker Creek. I love that all their seed is heirloom and GMO-free, and I'll definitely be buying from them in the future.
Beautiful farm. Amazing seed collection.
Well worth the trip for any homesteader.
I have bought from them many times, always the best service and super fast responses, they go above and beyond, I recently had the sad experience of my order being stolen from my mailbox, after asking when I realized it should have been delivered what to do next, within 30 minutes I got a response asking me to check with the post office and let them know what happened, of course it was stolen and I let them know and thanked them for their time, they responded by refunding my money for that order, stating I shouldn't have to pay for something I didn't receive, even though it was no way their fault. So within less than an hour of our first correspondence I had a complete refund in my account and a new order being processed, you can't go wrong buying from this wonderful company!
This places was so cool, a real gem off the beaten track, especially for gardeners and food lovers.
Have not been there yet, would like to go soon. Have a catalog everything looks great and the prices are right.
Absolutely LOVE Bakers Creek. Cinnamon rolls are fabulous! So much stuff to look at. People to listen to give advice. My biggest issue was, it took forever to get in because so many people going. It was worth the wait!. Seeds galore!
My family and I ordered seeds and a few plants. We received the seeds and planted them according to the directions on the packaging. We only had luck with about half of our packages. I contacted them and asked if they would replace the seeds that did not grow. I received an email stating that the seeds would be shipped out asap, no questions asked. I am impressed and happy because we are really looking forward to having an amazing garden full of wonderful heirloom seeds! A+ customer service!
This is a very unique place to visit. It is fantastic if you are a gardener or potential Gardener and want to get seed and advice. Even if not there are lots of things to do and see there. There are some festivals through the year that are a lot of fun and also informative.
It's like a miniature City set in the pioneer times. their store has the largest selection of heirloom seeds I've ever seen, and you've got to try the restaurant it's fantastic. Come in the afternoon while it's the open for lunch.
12 seeds planted and zero sprouts. Very disappointed, seeds from the local hardware store all sprouted.
Very friendly environment.I highly recommend you go.What a experience.
Spent the afternoon at the Heritage Festival with the family. Can't wait to plant the seeds we got into our garden.
The only seed that I was looking forward to get from here was winged beans that I ordered but what I received was red pepper instead, even though I was charged for winged beans. disappointed and dissatisfied.
They have contacted me promptly and refunded since seeds were not available, I truly wish they notified me prior to replacing.
I am satisfied with the other order and so I am changing the rating accordingly
It's been over 3 months and I've still not received the seeds I ordered. Also they stll haven't answered when I emailed over a month ago. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.
Awesome place for plants ,Seeds, Brick a Brack old time Bonnets and Dresses. Great Blue grass and Old Country Music. Great home cooked food. Everything made by the folks in the Mansfield Area. 3 Days of great everything. Animals for sale as well. Baby Chicks and Lambs Calves. Old time Aprons made by all the area folks. Homeade Jams syrups Raw Honey . Camping spots for those who want to stay the entire three Days. It was iften. I suggest going early if its for a day or you'll sit in traffic for gours tring to get to the entrance We were an eighth of a mile from tje entrance and it took well over an hour and a galf to get to the entrance for parking. As I Said awesome but you want to leave early in the morning. So that your at the entrance and can park without being stuck in your vehicle for an hour or way longer. It was a blast . Akso be prepared to do a great deal of walking thets tons to see. You cant see everything in one afternoon , it takes the entire 3 days to see it all and I'm not sure you can see it all in 3 days there is just so much. I give them five Stars it is an awesome experience.
Good experience with their seeds! High germination rate, good plants.
I also like their "self-sustaining" mentality.
What I don't like is the restrictions they've imposed on their employees since SARS-Cov-19 (which the owners themselves don't abide by). Hard on health, hard to follow, with threat of legal action if ignored.
