For this year gardening we decided to buy our seeds from Baker creek to grow our plants. We grow plants for many years. This company was recommended by Sarah and Kevin from Living traditions homestead on their youtube channel. Long story short no one of the seeds germinated and develop the seedlings good for planting. Very disappointed -i will never buy from them again and i definitely will unsubscribe from Sarah and Kevin channel to avoid being misled again.

OK, I looked at the reviews and bought a lot of seeds. I am VERY unhappy with the "wild strawberry " seed in particular. I bought several packets, planted some outdoors, some indoors in starter planters. The germination rate was PATHETIC. Out of two full packets of seeds, got only THREE sprouts!!!. Yeah, sent an email, NO RESPONSE! Suggest you find a local place to do business with.

Have found that over the years seed quality, germination rates and overall success rate with Baker Creek seeds has fallen substantially. Started ordering from Baker Creek over 5 years ago and had great success. Latest batch I had difficulty germinating mustard in Sept/Oct in Florida. Started peppers and got way less than 50% germination rate, disappointing. Sexy catalog, but grower quality controls slipping?

A great place to step back away from the modern world and walk right into the past. Make this a stop on your next trip through the area, especially if you go visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder home which is a few miles south of here. Friendly staff, fresh baked bread and cinnamon rolls and much more.

More on this location later. I arrived on a Saturday, drove up the road to the facility and wondered why it was so empty. I walked around for about 20 minutes and looked in all of the closed and locked shops. I returned to my truck, drove back to the entrance gate and discovered it closed, chained, and padlocked. I was locked in. I drove back to the main structure and got out, walked around again and located a nice young woman who was working in one of the greenhouses. Fortunately she gave me directions to a super secret exit that took me to 10 miles of red clay Missouri road and back to the highway. I'll return and provide a full review when scheduling allows.

Great day. Free visit. Friendly people who like their work. Lunch is oriental, with one or two options, with upscale presentation. Cost is donation ($5-10 per person) Delicious vegan ice cream for dessert. Animals, old time buildings, interesting films in the seed store and all the seeds you can imagine. If open, the bakery sells giant cinnamon rolls for a couple dollars.

Sorry, and very disappointed. I requested a catalog last fall and they acknowledged and said they'd send one. As of February 1st I haven't received one or an explination .Im sure they take care of old customers but don't care about me . I dont feel i need to place a second request ,if they can't get it right the first time I'd hate to trust them with money .

Fun and informative place to visit! Very friendly people who know their business. Loved the shops and gardens. Definitely will go back, hopefully during each season. Drool over their catalog during winter.

They offer some of the most unique and rare seeds available on the market and their prices and shipping costs are extremely competitive. They're my "go to" seed company for the unique varieties and the catalog is always incredible to look through.

I've always loved Bakers Creek! Their selection, variety, everything, but this year I've been extremely disappointed. This is the worst germination I've ever had with them. After talking to several friends, they are also having the same problem with their Baker Creek seed which tells me it's not me, and spending so much with them this year and having such poor results( I've had no issue with other seed ive purchased) I'll be rethinking next years seed. The only seed I got this year with a 75% or better germination rate was my eggplant. My cucs, squashes, melons and herbs all did 10% or less.

Fun

We've been regular mail/internet customers for over 9 years. We have never had an issue with the seeds we've purchased (of course that is our own personal experience - I cannot speak for everyone. We are experienced gardeners, and this may make a difference) This year we went over a hundred miles out of our way to visit their spread in Missouri. Wow. We were just delighted. We were like kids in a candy shop at their brick and mortar store. Keep up the good work you guys - we respect what you do very much.

Baker Creek is by far the best and most renowned source for purchasing heirloom seeds in the US!
The order arrives quickly and if you were to have a question, the staff answers each and every question.
More businesses should model themselves after this GEM!
Thank you!

Baker Creek is just the best... They have such an amazing, fun, and beautiful variety/selection. 99.9% of my germination experiences were successful, and the one that was not, was quickly replaced by their wondeful customer service along with some advice to help with my second try. Everyone there seems to truly love what they do- I would recommend Baker Creek to anyone!

We absolutely live this place. It is a Gardner's Disneyland, especially if you are committed to growing organics, heirlooms, and saving seeds. Festivals first Sunday of the month usually involve bluegrass, garden, and greenhouse tours. The vegan restaurant was fantastic. It's donation based and they only serve a couple items but those items are phenomenal. The village is set up pioneer like. Just awesome.

My dad always used to say,"Good food is cheaper than doctor bills." These seeds produce food the way nature intended and God made them ( ..."let every seed bring forth after it's kind" ). When big corporations are altering our food, it makes you appreciate someone dedicated to keeping it pure. I ate an excellent healthy meal at their festival north of Mansfield, MO, and they didn't charge me ! I just left a donation. Of course I did buy a lot from venders, plants and seeds from their store, also. I wish we had a community like this close by in Arkansas.

Baker Creek normally has the best selection of seeds of any company.
Due to the virus, this year has been a challenge obtaining seeds due to unbelievable demand. Not only is the quality of the seed excellent, but Baker provides .free shipping. They do not try to make a profit by overcharging for shipping. This is the only internet seed company that I use and have used it for many years. I highly recommend it for serious gardeners and beginning gardeners alike. Quality and variety of seeds can not be matched anywhere.

We saw the signs on the highway and made an impromptu pitstop. We are so glad we did! This was such a fun place to walk through. We stopped too late for a meal, buy the baked goods and jams are to die for! Their store has so much to look at, plus a ton of seed varieties. If you are in the area, go check them out!

Although I loved this place I'm giving 3 stars for them closing down for 2 seasons now over Covid that has the same statistics as the normal flu. 99.7% recovery does not warrant a shut down. I've become pretty annoyed with them closing everything for so long.

A fascinating place, and all the seeds you could want. For an "organic" this, "heirloom" that seed company their prices are reasonable. Haven't been able to get out and plant the seeds yet, but the live plants we bought are doing well so far. I have every reason to believe the rest will too.

Purchased banana plants. Didn't get updates until it shipped...two MONTHS later. The banana plants we got...were seedlings. Had they sent me the seeds two months ago I could have grown bigger plants than what they sent me. Both "plants" were about 1-1 1/2 inches tall.
