B. J. Properties Review

I lived in a building owned by BJ Properties for 4 yrs. starting in 2009. My plumbing was always bad. Maintenance was never readily available, and took forever to respond to requests. Building had awful cockroach problems. Fleas were in the carpet. They rented to rude & loud tenants. The police were on my street every other night. They raised the rent but never fixed anything correctly. Owners just needed to care more about the tenants. Not sure how they are now, but from what I've read on other reviews.. Not much better. SMH.

Modern apartments on 6th st and linden...

Consistently your garbage doors are open with homeless searching through the trash... Yes they re left open by your manager ... review your cameras if you think I m lying.

Your alley faucet is used at least 10 times a day as a trough and camp for the homeless. Put a lock on it you fools.. what re your investors thinking??

Your grounds are covered in litter and it s a consistent hang out spot for loitering individuals.

Why is your lot manager doing nothing about this? She has been contacted by my landlord and neighboring landlords for months about this problem with no answers or solutions. Are you trying to get sued? Do you support endangering your tenants and community?

It s childish, negligent, asinine and will continue to disturb your tenants from continuing their contracts. I ve called the police at least 4 times this month so far about people that have occupied your grounds....

Please do something about this, why would you not if you consider yourself an owner of profitable property?

Never responds to my work orders. We had have an ant infestation and they told me pest control doesn t do ants only cockroaches...I read all of the reviews and they seem to talk about cockroach infestation problems but never helped them either almost like this company is just full of lazy people

I would give this company 0 stars of possible. First off, my apartment in Hawthorne was INFESTED with roaches the day I moved in.
My oven, dishwasher, and heater were all decades old and didn't work. On top of the raggedy units they rent out, I was told my mother couldn't spend the night while visiting from out of town because "I'd get evicted for having overnight guest".

My manager was young and very inexperienced, showing me why my building had such a high turn around rate. I moved out after a few months because I couldn't take the lack of care & stupidity of the manager combined with the roaches everywhere!

This company is fraudulent and shady. After ignoring my letters and emails before I moved out, BJ Property sent me a bill, (didn't return my deposit) 3 years after moving out! Spend your money with a more professional management Co. I am now still wasting time in court for an apartment I moved out of almost 4 years ago...they are money hungry thieves!

I had the displeasure of meeting Barbara Jean (BJ Prop) in 2000. The townhome I had been renting in Los Al for 5 years was sold. The new owners made the mistake of hiring her as their property manager. My first experience was a rental increase of $150.00 per month. I'm a responsible pet owner and at the time had a dog and a cat. She made the remark to me upon our first face to face meeting that "the only good cat is a dead cat". I couldn't believe her gall. Then after raising my rent, she asked if there was anything that needed to be done to my place. I told her I'd been living here for 5 years and the carpeting was separated at the seams by a couple of inches. It was carpeting from the late 70's the high-low two-tone stuff. She told me she would see what she could do for me. One week later I got a 60 day notice to move. I had never been late on my rent, no complaints from my neighbors and no problems with the former landlord.

This property management company is poisoned by the owner and I would never under any circumstances, rent from BJ Properties again. I would rather stay at a Motel 6. If I could I would rate it a minus 5.

At first it was difficult to actually get an appointment to see the property but over-all the application process, approval and move in was a snap. The whiners here have to remember that the property managers need approval from the owners before they can proceed with repairs other than emergencies. I received prompt attention to my requests and they even worked with me on a payment by my bank error. Very happy with my new home.

BJ properties has maintenance issues due to their lack of new appliances and lack of remodeling. They also have issues with returning phone calls.

If I could rate these guys lower, I would. Save yourself the trouble and don't do any business with them.

DONT APPLY HERE THEY DONT WORK WITH ANYONE. I APPLIED AND THEY DENIED ME, I HAVE NO CREDIT AND I MADE 3 TIMES OVER THE RENT AND DENIED ME FOR NO REASON. THIS PLACE TOOK MY 70 BUCKS FOR A CREDIT CHECK AND NEVER RAN MY CREDIT. I ALWAYS GET CREDIT ALERTS WHEN SOMEONE CHECKS MY CREDIT. THEY POCKET YOUR MONEY.
