AZ Alma Review

Top service, arrived via the emergency, I got a code yellow,
I had a high fever for a few days, waiting times were normal, it is the third time I was there, I can only except 2 exceptions in the slow post (no judgment).
Now after all my examinations that first indicate meningitis, I was already in my room at 5 pm, had 5 examinations between blood and spinal cord (very painful). But each time I was duly informed. At the time there were 18 people in an emergency. Of which a code red.
I can only praise it.
In the room I thought I was being disturbed too much and it was not always quiet, but I was checked every 2 hours to measure fever and blood pressure. And whether the headaches had gone away, and was up to heart observation
Food is actually tasty, menu is personalized.
Nursing is kindly helpful, but the pace is fast (I only had 1 nurse who was not sufficient for me). People regularly asked me if they could do something for me.
I was in department b 3rd floor

This hospital is very modern, it is also big, very clean. The staff us very nice and they do their best to make you feel comfortable. The central hall is big and beautiful and visitors can play the piano. The place to eat is wonderful, it is big, you can sit indoors or outdoors and they have a lot of food choices that are very tasty. If I need to go to the hospital I would choose to be there. Hopefully not of course

Have good doctors and there are also bad ones in between you can make a point system dr smets for the back gets a thick 0

My mother died in AZ Alma because of an investigation with a radioactive liquid. Although the professor was well aware of my mother's swallowing problems (she had previously been admitted for pneumonia from food that had entered her lungs), he nevertheless had an examination performed with radioactive fluid. My mother had to swallow this. For example, a large amount of radioactive fluid entered her lungs, causing her to suffer cardiac arrest. They were able to resuscitate Mommy but her lungs were burned. She survived the intensive care for another 2 months and then passed away. The doctor never contacted us again while Mum was on intensive care. There was another doctor who, when my father asked questions, snapped at him that he was not a doctor and she was.
Horrible!

Every time I visit AZ Alma - as a guide or as a visitor but not as a patient - I am happy with the quality of the care. Today I would like to encourage all employees. What you are experiencing and should have done shouldn't have been there. Hold on, but no matter how difficult. It is the single most important thing to be done right now. Today my son almost suffocated on a small toy. While we were trying to get it out he threw up enormously. No idea what it almost suffocated because I didn't find the piece. No time wasted for an ambulance. Driven myself. Normally I go to Knokke, but due to the immense traffic jam I go to Eeklo. NEVER AGAIN. Apparently a baby almost suffocated is not serious enough. Join the 20 others outside in those temperatures. Even after explaining that blood was coming from his throat, I got an answer that I should call 112. Fortunately I had my son stuck or he could have joined.
Son in the car and yet to Knokke. Fortunately he was a bit better. At least treated properly and seriously in AZ Zeno. I don't feel too good to queue up, but if a baby that nearly suffocated is no longer a priority, then I don't remember. Amateurism to the advantage. If I can give some good advice. Go to Zeno in Knokke!

AZ Alma, what a Top Team you are! I arrived at the ER on Tuesday morning April 6 and was then transferred to the covid ward 2nd floor, room 16, ... What a super friendly, caring and attentive team you are! Thank you very much for taking good care of yourself, to be there, to listen, ...! You do a fantastic job! Here you can get your PCR test by appointment. Keep enough distance from your predecessor because you do not know whether infected people are among them. Well arranged and the negative result of traveling was with us on time.

* 5 stars for optimal deployment and smooth progress in the day clinic, pain clinic and geriatrics department.
This especially to all nurses and the maintenance team for their utmost dedication, big chapeau and merci.
* 1 star for meals during the stay.
Hygiene cutlery below average. Dirty cutlery encountered several times. Meals can really be improved and handled with care. Monotonous, boring meals that do not promote appetite. I suspect that a lot of food is thrown away here, which is a shame and detrimental to the health of the patient. For a modern new hospital, the level and presentation of the kitchen is below all levels. Healthy alternatives are not even known here. Great working point for this modern hospital! Other older hospitals score much better in this regard.
