Avanti Hotel Review

Obviously an older property. Contemporary furnishings do a decent job. Clean general "Motel" style rooms. Harsh lighting in rooms dont outshine the great value.

We loved the pool but the hotel is super old, it needs an urgent renovation, the attention in the lobby is neutral. To stay in a place near the parks is not bad.

The service is good, but the facilities need a revamped. The bathroom in the room is very small and was not so clean, the corners accumulated some dirt. The air conditioning is old, though it does not make so much noise. Very old and ugly furniture. Few points of outlet and lighting. It is expensive for what it offers for comfort, but the location is great.

Very dated. The worst part is our room's only window was facing a concrete wall 3' away. This was my husband and I's first vacation together and I spent more time in my room than I would have liked. The word Resort should be removed

I didn't stay at this location thank God I had somebody leave a package therefore me drove 30 miles there to get it they said it wasn't there when they had it at the reception all the time when I call back they said yes we have it sorry we didn't know it was a reception absolutely worst service

Awesome rooms, lots to do around hotel within walking distance

I stayed at the Avanti from June 11 to 14th and returned on the 19th to 21st of June 2015. I arrived early on the 19th after driving from Daytona and never thought they would allow early check-in at about 11:00 a.m. If they have the clean rooms, they accommodate you. The staff is exemplary and go out of there way to accommodate each and every patron. The pool is large, and fun. They often provide music entertainment in a very satisfying manner at the poolside bar. The place was clean and accommodating and the shuttles too and from Universal, etc., are great way to get around and see the many attractions nearby. Only about fifteen minutes to Universal. They provide a small refrigerator in the room that holds approximately twenty drinks or so. I really enjoyed how helpful the staff is at this hotel. They have an onsite computer to comfirm your flights when returning home all complimentary. If you have trouble figuring out the computer which prints out your boarding passes they are more than willing to help you. The downside is the noisy dehumidifier that is located under the sink in the room. I would suggest that they spend the money to provide a small microwave in the rooms and post some signs telling people not to sit on the steps blocking other patrons from gaining access to the pool. They do have an onsite restaurant preparing sandwiches, pizzas, etc., and I will say that the food was pretty good. Overall, I will be returning to this resort mostly due to the friendly hotel staff, bar staff, and all around friendliness of this environment. Avanti staff you are all doing a Great Job!!! Keep up the good work.

Wasn t going to leave this a review until I was double charged. I stayed there last week. Paid up front. My card was charged again today (A week later) for the full amount. The rooms are very poor quality (my door wouldn t even lock all the way.. could push it open). Entire complex smells of weed. Not a great place for families.

The setup is like a cheap motel, with the rooms having very small bathrooms and no balconies. The pool is very nice and it is nice having a little store right next to the pool. If we hadn't gotten a better deal staying here and going to Universal, id have preferred to stay somewhere down the road with a better room setup.

Rooms basic but great value for money. Our room had awful lighting and overlooked an outside wall so very dark. Reception staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful. Very nice pool area. Conveniently located.

Everything in the hotel is good. From the friendly service to the wonderful swimming pool.

Nice clean and spacious rooms, located in the heart of the action. Would be 3.5 stars if it allowed me because my Expedia meal vouchers though worth $12.00 each did not get me $12.00 worth of breakfast. They skimped on that aspect to say the least

Rude staff with everyone I encountered minus ONE woman working the front desk. Our air conditioner was broken and pouring water, flooding half of our floor and belongings. When I called, I asked for a lot of blankets and towels to sop up the water. I received 2 small towels. Very helpful. Then I was told it would be fixed the next day. I gave a SIX HOUR time window we would be out of the room. They didn t come entire room and finally came at 8pm when we were sleeping and ignored the do not disturb, repeatedly banging on the door and yelling. Our room was not cleaned ONCE during our 3 day stay. Thought there were knocks at very inconvenient times like 5am or 11pm. The whole day while we were gone however the room was not touched.

i d give 3.5 if i could. rooms were very pretty and spacious, but floor was dirty and found a few hairs in the sheets. tv went in and out and made it impossible to watch it. we called to book the room two days before we d go to universal, and asked if there was a shuttle to the park, they said yes. that s all. once we got to the hotel, they said the only way to get the shuttle (a dirty white bus) was to book a day in advance. we were never told about this and had to spend an extra 20 on uber. it wasn t that big of a deal but just rude. everything else was quite good. pool (though a bit dirty) was great. cafe was inexpensive with great food and service, and had everything you could ever want. overall worth the money.

This is the 3rd time my family has stayed here. Great room, very clean, central location, professional staff and a low cost. As long as they keep it affordable we will keep coming back.

Do not fall for the pictures online. Resort but it is definitely a motel. At least rooms were clean. Don t recommend!! FALSE ADVERTISING IS WHAT THEY HAVE!

Please look for something else if it falls in your budget. The rooms are extremely noisy and ambiance is bad. Smell of weed everywhere. Not the kind of people you want around (being polite).

Great resort for the price. The shuttle to Epcot was absolutely disgusting and I felt like I needed to shower after riding. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful the whole time. Got coffee from the Starbucks cafe and it was not very good but usually the ones that aren't actual Starbucks aren't the greatest but still charge Starbucks prices. Room was clean and very roomy.

Nice central location hotel, this hotel is central to I drive with easy access, about 10 minutes drive to Disney and even closer about 5 minute drive to Universal.

Avanti is very much like a Motel 6. The room has the bare necessities, but not enough to call themselves a "resort." Everything from the heater to the dehumidifier is loud. The one big plus is its central location. Look through the reviews before you book. This is definitely NOT a resort. * Fridge and microwave are included in the room.

Great swimming pool. But the worms in the room looks weird.

Large spacious room with fridge,microwave,closet,bathtub,large comfortable king bed.

Everything was all bad. Room dirty. When ask for cleaning service no one came to clean. Bathroom nasty. Tub did not drain well. Sheets were dirty. Smelled bad. Housekeeping rude constantly knocking on door when it was time to check out but couldn t come back n service my room. Over charging. Not worth the money do not waste your money here.

This hotel is refurbished motel style and not a resort at all. I booked it looking at reviews and was totally disappointed.
The room was clean. They lie about the free breakfast. They give two coupen for every room(not one each for the number of guests) which includes one juice/coffee and one beacon slice. We did not take the breakfast as the cafe was very dirty.
They say it resort in their name to charge you additional fees actually. Instead of international in its name, it shall say something like intercity.
Will never stay at this hotel again as the service is not at par for the high price it charges. You can find better options at a less price in the area than this hotel.. Please do not get fooled.

Pool is great for kids and families. Our room was closed to the highway so we heard a little noise. Great distance from from local attractions.

The most horrible place in entire Orlando area. Waited in line to check in for over 2 hours. By the time I checked in it was only a few minutes before midnight. No one picked up the phone to cancel my reservation, but they had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to cancel my reservation after I waited for 2 something hours in line, once I got to the front desk. HORRIBLE PLACE!!!! Wouldn t recommend it. Wish they had an option for negative stars because that is what this place deserves!!!

To start off our stay we were happy. Check in was very nice and staff was friendly. We walked into our room to discover sand on the floor of our room which was annoying but everything else seemed ok. I went to go to the bathroom only to realize the bathroom door does not close all the way/latch. We needed more towels so I tried using the provided phone to call the front desk but I unfortunately found the phone did not work. I walked up to the front and talked to a manager and was told they will bring a full set of towels to my room. The phone wasn t fixed and a never received the towels. The next day I was outside enjoying the weather by the pool fence outside my room and I WAS HIT IN THE HEAD WITH A BROOM!! I looked up to see a room service lady on the 3rd floor texting on her phone. I was down on 1st floor so I tried getting her attention but nothing worked. I took the broom and walked over to the front desk. The First Lady who helped me seemed great and wanted to help but needed the managers approval. The manager blamed me for the towels never getting to my room and said I should have told them earlier about the phone not working and the towels never arriving. The manager did not even seem to care about me getting hit with a broom from 2 floors up. He remained rude and continued blaming me for the issues we had and was making the experience worse with every sentence he spoke. On top of all that, the food place by the pool was somehow out of everything except wings and pizza, and only had pepperoni pizza. The entire property reeks like marijuana and security was never seen. If you re looking for a good family vacation DO NOT GO HERE!!
There were a lot of people doing drugs and swearing around the property and the majority of the staff was inconsiderate and rude. We will never be back.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. The exterior of the resort is nice, but our room was pretty bad. It was dirty and a bit run down. I found 3 clumps of hair around the room, including 2 in the shower. The corners of the shower were full of mold. The baseboards and corners looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. The sheets smelled strongly of bleach. The bath towels were not even big enough to wrap around your body. The first day they neglected to clean our room (we were out from 9am to 11pm so there was plenty of time to do it). If you care about having a clean room, this is not the hotel for you.

Nice resort good pool water there is a gym gameroom and a cafe hot tub really well close to attraction's ferris wheel across the street.

Worst check-in experience ever. The line was 30 people long when we arrived, and barely moved in the last half hour. The staff does not seem competent enough to be checking guests in, as every single one is needing help from another staff member. Our family will never stay here again. Also agree with other reviewers that there is ONE towel in a room for 4 people. Maybe invest in better staff and more supplies for your guests?
*EDITED to add a couple of stars. They have redeemed themselves a little with the heated pool, and with their prompt response to all of our requests during our stay. Tip: if they ask for your phone number, give it. This allows them to set up a direct contact with you, and this is how all our requests were met promptly.

Small bathrooms that could have been cleaner, smoke alarm hanging from ceiling, there was a great pool area and nice staff.

Nice clean hotel off of International. Not expensive, when the price. I wouldn't call it a resort though. Very nice pool.

We had a conference in the presidential suite. Lovely! Helpful and friendly staff.

Where to begin....... Check in the person was rude. Had to ask multiple times for towels and they seemed to run out on all 3 days of our stay. The pool disgusting there were old toys and face masks floating and a bottle of bud light. Our room in building 3 disgusting, tub flow was slow, microwave did not work, the mini fridge did not cool our food properly and the a/c was not working until we cleaned out the vent GROSS! The pictures are remarkable and looks great but FALSE ADVERTISING AT ITS BEST!

Kevin is a epic bartender. Super friendly and lots of fun! We love staying here. Great pool and affordable. Location is perfect. Wait, did I mention that Kevin is a epic bartender?? He makes the place great for sure.

I stayed December 30th until January 2nd, are under renovation in the hotel. On day 2 they were painting outside the hotel. They painted my car and my wife's car, all the others that were parked ... I complained to the hotel manager and general manager (Rod O Connor), and so far I have had no refund from the hotel or the contractor. already washed the two cars but the paint did not come out .... I'm disappointed with the lack of responsibility on the part of the Hotel ... I will have to look for a lawyer because I still do not know how much I will spend to get these paints from the cars !!

I don't know about anything bad, this hotel was wonderful! Stayed with a group from June 23-30, 2015.. We loved it & everything around is close & convient.

Basically a refurbished Motel 6. We promptly checked out. Staff was very friendly, accommodating, and completely understanding when we asked to leave. Nothing against the "resort" itself. (And I use the word "resort", loosely) It was our fault, we didn't look at the online pictures, nor did we do any research with this last minute booking. (Just not to our standards)
(Ex: Mold on the bathroom tiles, cheap furniture, cracked pictures, exposed pipes, dust on furniture, room was not clean/ ready when we arrived for check-in, etc)

Vacation was great... Thanks to Avanti Resort I was able to enjoy my mini vacation with my love, location was outstanding, customer service was fantastic, Very respectful and well spoken....

A fancy giant motel. You are able to walk to everything on the strip just fine. Traffic in this area and on the highways is dangerous and just awful.

The advertisement was very misleading, the check in area brought me to a false sense that this was going to be something special. What a let down when I arrived at the building where my family and I were staying, it was extremely small and outdated for this to be a deluxe double queen it was more like matchbox. I have been in Florida for a week and just wanted an extra couple of days here, my previous hotel could not accommodate my extra days that how I landed her at this poor example of a resort. The floors were dirty in the room when my husband came out the small cramped bathroom he walked across the floor only to get black dirty feet. I am so applauded at the condition of this hotel. If I would have read the reviews a few little more in detail I would have not choose this hotel at all. It gets ten starts for the convenience of being located in the center of the attractions, but that is the only good thing about this hotel. Don't go out and use your car you will not get a parking space near your room if you stay out late. Came in and had to park very far from my room.
It's so sad I had the option between this hotel and Westgate and I picked this one. Very disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great location, exemplary service. The rooms leave a little to be desired for cleanliness and organization but does not compromise on the experience. Highly recommend.

The location is good, restaurants and shops close by, give you a walk. The room is good, ample. The bathroom is small and old with a bath.

Ok value for money. Good location. All the basic amenities but they could have kept it up better. No where near the quality of experience we had 4 years ago. Customer service is good so the staff makes up for it a bit. But unless and until renovated unlikely to be back.

Nice hotel but lousy customer service. Had to call about vouchers 3 times then eventually had to go get them after being told they would bring them 3 times asked for extra blankets told us they would put us on a list... never got the blankets. Room had no soap no shampoo and then they told us we cant get any till 8 am the next day when housekeeping comes??? Really really?

Horrible this resort is more like a motel. With water leaking from the toilet to stains on the bed and dirty floors. But the worst is the bugs I founded ccdd in there bed sheets. I was disgusted. No matter who sI told there response is sorry the pest control people said it wasn t bed bug oh it was now DONT GO T

DO NOT STAY HERE! My family and I checked in to go to the Universal theme parks and I'm highly grossed out. Walking into the bathroom I find hair on the toilet seat, a broken razor and a hair bar of soap in the shower and a dirty shower! But yet you can put folded towels and new toilet paper?? That's disrespectful and disgusting! Stepping out of the bathroom I stepped on a tac randomly on the floor!

Immediately I call the front desk to speak with a manager Raymond which was pointless. After explaining the disappointment of the room, Raymond proceeded to tell me there are no other rooms to switch us to because "there's a convention in town" and they're sold out. As for housekeeping, he only has a "housekeeping runner" and that there's no other housekeepers right now on staff so it will take time to clean our bathroom.

The only positive thing I can say is that the housekeeping runner was nice, super attentive and apologetic when she arrived and saw the dirtiness of the bathroom. She cleaned it right away and sent photos to a supervisor of the mess.

Overall, I will never stay here again. To have the service of a manager with a "take it or leave it attitude" is appalling. Don't work in hospitality if you cannot carry out the responsibilities of great customer service.

Nice and clean rooms. Nice and friendly people in the reception. The housekeeper did a great job keeping the room tidy and clean. The last star was not in place due to faulty air conditioning and noisy nabours.

Terrible! I'm even in it now ... Hotel with reception and pool with great looks, but the corridors and rooms poorly maintained ... Poor cleanliness! I had to change rooms! My fourth, besides being poorly maintained, was IMMUNE! With a lot of MOFO! It was mold on. All furniture! Even the person who was going to clean the room, we talked to her and she said that room was horrible! We took a picture of how much dirt she had removed from the room! This because we went back to our room to get our things because we managed to move to another room. I won't be back anymore! We got a better room .. More conserved .. But the cleanliness of the rooms is horrible! There is no supervision!

Very disappointed, the ilustration online does not meet expectations. The evelevator in Building 4 was pealing, there was rust everywhere around the outside of the hotel. Floor not clean when we arrived, shower dirty, bathroom door pealing, the pool had rust, then palm trees seem to be dieing not pruned nively. Very poor condition, honestly I seen better Motels in comparison. Sorry but the truth is the maintenance needs improvement. On the way out no one asked was everything ok, please return, no one asked if we had a easant atay. Obviously very poor unprofessional management.

Floors in our room were dirty. House keeping non responsive. Nice sized pool and splash pad. Music plays late and can be heard in rooms. Close to a lot of eateries and short drive to sea world, universal and Disney World.
