My sister, husband and myself visited from Melbourne on the 03/11...I am not a very political person, parliament bores me, but my husband really wanted to go and have a behind the scene tour...it was incredible! Scott was our tour guide and he was so unbelievably amazing! He told us stories, made jokes and gave us such an insight to the ins and outs of parliament (what he was allowed to disclose), that you couldn t help but be entertained and informed by the facts!
I would highly recommend going on this tour and Enjoying the history and makings of parliament
All staff are friendly and nice, from security inviiting you in to Kleme in the parliament shop!!

Visited on 27 August for a 'Behind the Scenes' tour. Shane was an excellent guide: informative, funny and personable. I could very easily listen to him talk about Parliament House all day. An asset to the team.

Gorgeous building with great use of Australian timbers throughout, particularly in some of the larger venues like the Great Hall. Well worth a visit and a tour - just wish that there was access to more of the building - but can understand why.

Me and my husband came here for a nice 5 star meal. And guess what they told us!? That this wasn't a restaurant. WHAT AUDACITY? I paid $1000 for a premier seating in the cloak room. And this is the service me and my hubby get.

We also couldn't get married :(

A lot of people think Sydney is the capital city, accurately it is Canberra.

Parliament House is great building located in the Canberra city center, around is a large lake and museum, library.

Many visitors came every year, it is a focus of Australia.

The Parliament House (Canberra), also known as the Canberra Parliament Building, the Australian Federal Parliament Building, is the residence of the Australian Parliament and is located in Canberra, the Australian capital. The building was designed by Michel/Gurgra Architects and was opened on May 9, 1988 by Queen Elizabeth II. At the time of construction, it was the most expensive man-made structure in the Southern Hemisphere, costing a total of about A$1.1 billion. Since Australia is a democratic state with a federal system and a cabinet system, this building is also at the heart of Australia's executive and legislative powers.

Beautiful house to visit.

Beautiful house to visit.
Lord of rooms and historical facts to know.
Amazingly designed and well maintained.

Parking for the weekend is free so a big bonus.

The LEGO Parliament House is the best part for me as a big kid. So much detail and so well done. It s a must see for me.

THE. PERFECT. NIGHT. Plenty of seats so you don t have to worry about booking. Interesting choice of liquor (nothing but the top shelf stuff) popcorn machine wasn t working while I attended so I went for the banana choc top! Never the less, I did enjoy the front row seats (I even got to touch his FEET!!!! Extra paintballs weren t too pricey and the salad was so tender it fell off the bone, I felt 10 years younger after a 6 hour spa session and the date night the coordinators set up super good. I even got to dine with Mr Abbot. I would have tried something but unfortunately I was with my partner Angus Hawksworth, could have spent the rest of the week there if not for work :(( Would have given a 5 star but unfortunately the waitress who served us smelled of oak, I HATE oak. Goodnight everyone, Local Guide Out

A stunning structure which has been built to embody the people it serves. Our guide (a lovely lady who had only worked there a couple of weeks) bought the place to life which made it even more enjoyable.

It is a very impressive, modern building. I don't know if I was under a rock for most of my life, but I don't think I ever even saw a picture of the Parliament House before I got there. It was pretty incredible to see from the old parliament house and walk towards is slowly, each step revealing more detail. It is somehow industrial, yet natural.....modern, yet classic....youthful, yet mature. It is quite impressive. You can walk inside and see some of the rooms where important government people meet to discuss things. You can also go to the roof and look around which is a pretty cool vantage point and adds even more depth to the design of the building. Explore the building as much as you can because it has some awesome architectural features.

Underground parking was free on public holidays. I think it was $ 3 for 2 hours and $ 5 for 2-3 hours. free entrance. There is an x-ray examination at the entrance like an airport.
Inside there are a few museum-like exhibits. There is free drinking water near the toilet. There is also a cafe and lemon water is free and self-service.
There is also a goods department.

Great place to visit. A tour is a great way of hearing about the house, the parliament and the Australian system of government. Great to be able to look around, go on the roof, and see democracy in action. We also rolled down the grass roof, saw a great Lego model of the house and played some democracy handball on the forecourt.

I guess I'm a bit of a nerd as I had a great time here just wandering around. I didn't know much about the federal government having been born elsewhere and enjoyed seeing and reading about how things work here. I think that seeing it and also reading about it helped to learn about how the government works. I'm a bit surprised at the age of student coming through as they appeared on the younger side.

Took the behind the scene tour which I wouldn t recommend: all you do is walking in hallways and looking at doors. Behind those doors are the actual rooms where everything happens but you will not be able to enter them for security reasons. Do only if you like starring at closed doors.

Nice place to visit and there was 2 hours of underground free parking. It is about a 4 hour drive from Campbelltown (South-Western Sydney). The security guards were polite but we did not get a tour because it was near closing time (5pm). I wish the trading hours would be a bit longer otherwise the trip was fantastic!

It was fun. I very much enjoyed my stay. The service is swell, probably the nicest people that I have ever met. I didn't get this sort of treatment at my previous place of residence. I have only just broken free from the shakles of Martin Richardson's basement, where I felt as if I was being used as a toy for his own selfish need, for his pleasure. On the 13th of November, he came down for his morning joy just before work. But as he was walking down the stairs he fell down the stairs and hit his head, he was dead instantly. I was finally free. I ran up the stairs as fast as I could, opened the front door and saw the light, oh the light, the sweet and beautiful light. I was free.

The National Gathering, May 7, 1988 - It had been declared there would be no prayers at the opening of the new Parliament House. The week-end before the opening, 50,000 Christians from across Australia, gathered and prayed for the leaders and nation.

Australian Parliament House is a beautiful building in Canberra which can be seen from a few kilo meters in distance.

The house has Upper (red colour furniture) Lower house (green colour furniture) where they debate and pass legislations.

There is a free 2 hour parking below the building and staff were friendly and helpful.

It was officially opened by Queen on 9 May 1988 and about 4700 rooms.

A free guided tour through the new Parliament House is worth its time. A friendly guide leads you through the entire building and explains more or less everything you can see. You will gain inside knowledge about the two different houses, about the MPs routines and even information about the massive carpet in the celebration hall. This tour is interesting for the entire family and not boring at all!
