Very nice taste decent price, but they take so much time for order

A wholesome experience for the body and the soul! The visitors center Is well structured with pictures, models of the meditation dome and an overview movie. Free tickets can be obtained for entry to visit the meditation dome easily, but to register for meditation session one has to register the day before between 10 to 11am and then visit. Shuttle buses are available to take visitors back from the dome viewing gallery

Amazing place with an amazing view.... The only thing is you have to walk for 1km to reach the place

It's a nice place. It's amazing to know how the matrimandir was built. Even more amazing is to see how that community lives. An auto/cab can be hired. In case you want a visit into the matrimandir, you have to go there a day in advance to get the ticket. This place is opened until 4pm, hence a visit between 2-4pm is recommended to avoid the hot weather.

Nice place walking is more than usual but good place

This place gives better exposure to organic products and unique dress material in botiques. Clothing is little expensive. Must try is natural smoothee of mango and chicoo .

Great place to get to know about Auroville and it's history. It also has a great shopping complex and a lovely cafeteria.

One of the must visit places, in terms of greenery, uniqueness and serenity, in Puducherry. Bus service from parking to Matrimandir is also available.

There is provision to go inside the Auroville (golden plate globe) to do concentration. If you are going for the first time, you need to visit the Auroville visitors center personally to get the booking. If you visited once, you can visit again by doing a booking via mail or phone, no need to visit personally for the booking.
The feelings of doing concentration inside can't be expressed in few lines. It is something that must be experienced personally.

If you are first time visitor you would not get a chance to go to mantrimandir on the same and there is a high chance that next day will not be available. Strange rules.

Clean, Calm place to be....here you will get all the information you need about Auroville... One can obtain free pass to see Matrimandir from Viw point only. For visiting inside the Matrimandir you need to first register yourself in one day advance.

Calm and quiet but they are not allowed to see inside the architecture

Spiritual and serene place to visit. Spread across a very large area with lush greenary. Everything maintained in a systematic and planned manner. Common visitors are not allowed to go inside the golden dome. There are certain rules to be followed. Worth visiting.

first of all, visitors are blocked at most of the places, a very little can be seen. cultural difference of visitors become prominent. Hence their allowance to visit / enter their culture is highly restricted.

Its a very clam and friendly place for frienda and family to chill .... anyone visiting there should try ice creams and go to dreamers cafe for sure

Auto ville Visitors Center is like reception office where the visitors can register their names for visiting the Matri Mandir for meditation or for viewing the Matri Mandir form view point. Visitors to view point can have a nice look at the Golden Globe from a distance and the area around daily on arrival after getting visitor pass from 1000 am to 0500 pm. Visitors for meditation inside the Matri Mandir have to register one day previously as per availability for next day 0830 am meditation.

Walked in on a Sunday with high expectations and walked out a bit disappointed that all couldn't be achieved on a Sunday..

Matri mandir is a lifetime experience and feeling

One of the Best sight seeing spot. You have collect pass from Mantri Mandir to visit but not to go inside. For meditation inside Auroville requires at least two days early booking. The walking path of about 2 k m from Mantri Mandir to Auroville is full of greenery and provided with resting places. For Senior Citizens, Ladies and Children they arranged of free bus/van service. Video studio gives full information about Auroville.

A very unique place in Pondicherry, this place is a must visit and gives you utmost calm and peace. You can get to visit the MatriMandir inside if you obtain a pass the previous day. Aurovillle comes 10kms befor Pondicherry so watch out for the map. This place has also canteens that serves some amazing French delicacies. You can cover this and Pondicherry in exactly a day. Don't miss it out.

Beautiful grounds, lovely shops, and tasty ice cream

It is not located inside pondicherry Union Territory . It is located in VILLUPURAM district in TAMILNADU. However pondicherry city centre is very nearby about 10-12 km. This place is very neatly maintained. Must visit place in your life time. If you plan to visit auroville matrimantir you have to get proper permission to get inside the dome. There is lots of parking space. Parking fare is Rs. 50
There is one restaurant inside with French style bit costly also there is French bakery also available it too costly. Ice cream and juice shop available too.
Natural drinking water is free.
From visitors centre you have to walk to matrimantir about 1km. You feel/enjoy the nature on the way to matrimantir. There is cab facility to reach matrimantir for senior citizens/kids/disabled persons from visitors centre.
Lots of French people riding with bike without helmet.
Overall you feel good experience.

Since the day i heard about Auroville, it was in my bucket list to visit this place.
A place like which there is no other place in the world!
There are foreigners from different countries, local villagers, people from different states of India, etc., All at one place. Varieties of languages and color still a common goal- to fullfill the dream of Aurobindo!
Matrimandir is located in this premise, and people visit here for visiting matrimandir only.
A construction that took almost 40 years in making. A structure inside which i felt i wasn't on earth but a different place. Inside there is so calm and silence you could hear your heartbeat, your breaths and even your pulse. Inside which you can hear the deepest thought dwelling inside of you.

To visit matrimandir you have to be at visiting centre in person atleast one day before for making passes. And the next day you have to come for visiting matrimandir.

Visiting centre has a auditorium where they show videos of how matrimandir was made. A shopping centre type building where u can buy stuffs made by aurovillians and other local peoples. Also they have book shop where you can find many books on Aurobindo.

On the first floor of this shop there is a collection of thoughts of Aurobindo which are very interesting to read.

There is a canteen on the ground floor.
There is dynamic water technology present at this place which convert water into positive memory water! Which is best

On two occasions they have fire festival
On 28 Feb and 15th August. Passes for these will be available at any accomodation that is authorised by Auroville.

I will suggest you to visit this place at list once in your life!

Do visit MatriMandir..
One of the best places to meditate

Good ambience, nice buildings and installations. Given good introductory displays about the auroville spiritual facilities

Very neatly maintained place. The staff and people there is very friendly and courteous. The visit is free.
Guides also are available. Must visit place in Pondicherry. Little away from town and hence a serene place with plush greenery. Suggest to spend ample amount of time relaxing and enjoy the fresh atmosphere. I had a rejuvenating experience visiting the place.

Peacefull and nice place for nature lovers and meditators...

Long walk but you will be attaining peace of mind at the end. Great peice of architecture which will make us stunning and ultimate awesomeness. Its truly worth to visit. It's absolutely with zero fee's and could utilize their vehicle service as well.

The place is pretty much calm and different in its own way.

Auroville covers almost 10Km area of jungle and it is the most peaceful place, where you can actually find yourself! The greenery and peace in this area is spellbinding.

You may easily strike it off your pondy iternary and save half a day.
