Must visit place if you are in pondicherry. Well constructed, well maintained. A peaceful place. Even the entry is free. They only charge for parking.

Language barriers limited me from getting a transport from the Visitor's center to Matrimandir.

Spectacular view of Matrimandir, in Auroville village. One of new great monument in India. Entry inside is restricted. Having around 1 km walk from parking. For disabled shuttle service is also there.

If you are follower of Aurobindo and his disciples then you will love this place. For others it will be a okayish one time experience.

A must visit place for every Indian, also the best place to do meditation.

Peacefully and picturesque. The forest paths are beautiful and the viewpoint is worth visit.

Pretty organized and clean. well planned. they provide free passes upto the Matri Mandir viewing point. they have a room where they constantly play videos related to the history and construction of the Matri Mandir. worth a visit while at Pondicherry.

It's a place where one can spend 2/3 hours. But one should book the tickets earlier to enter inside the golden globe.

Beautiful place. Must visit in fact. Has a very good vibe. We made a mistake of not booking our tickets prior to this. Please make sure you book tickets and then visit. Otherwise you're allowed only till the view point.

My spouse told me I could be anything, so I decided to get Tan.

Never thought such place exist in our country. Such a clam and peaceful place, souls habitat there enjoy! Very different and relieving ambience for all busy city people. Has a Mall which has everything that I haven't experienced anywhere in cities! All artifacts, scents, collectables, costumes, consumables, were so unique. Place so easily reachable by Southern roads, but can easily get deserted in all non paved roads, in Northern entrance which isn't available for visitors. Only 3 timing public transportation is available for public to reach here, while autos exists to ease timing...

Need to do own background research in order to fully take it in

You get to Know the statistics of auroville, first place to start, if you visit auroville.

Before visiting anywhere in aurovilla one must visit this place. They give complete information about the Auroville. You can take a pass to visit the Matrimandir and can view the matrimandir from distance. To visit matrimandir you need to book in advance. They have history and pictures about the Auroville. There is also a small documentary played in projector about the Auroville. All these are completely free and there is no fee for this and no entry fee. There is also lot of shopping options nearby. Also there is washrooms available here. To get an information about Auroville one must visit this place first

Foreigners are the ones who are getting all the respect and attention there . Indians are treated as poor audience. You will travel that far to see the mandir from 200 metres .Better not to visit

It's a fifteen mins worth spending place. Travelers need to take appointment in the temple to go inside which in itself is a pain. Otherwise you can walk inside Auroville and basically spend some time breathing good air. Nothing very impressive but decent place.

This place is not a tourist spot or attraction. Its a living cum meditation place for people of various caste and creeds. You can however visit it for a walk around which is free. The visitor centre is the place where the tell you about the architecture amd history of the place. They show you a small movie on same anf you can take passes to see the matrmandir from 200 m. The walk is like 1 km long and well covered with plants. They also have rentals cycle or buses going at certain interval. The visitors centre if fully commercial. There are three cates, two botiques and many other shops. You can take passes for next day only and in person incase you want to see the matrimandir from inside.

Excellent place where we find peace. Maintained extra ordinary. Must visit place.

Nothing to see and it is a long walk in the Sun, not worth visiting.

It was nice the mantir was something which I wanted to take a closure about.... But unfortunately couldn't due to certain constraints that was placed by the Auroville mantir

A best initiative where they make us walk for about 1.4km... worth walking they've got an ashram build a huge massive structure.. the entry is free.. but they do not allow you inside the aashram.. rather make you watch from outside..

To visit the Matri Mandir a prior booking is required. The booking should be done in person.

Wonderful place!! Good trek and the path through out was calm and relaxing.. . But summer is a bad time to visit...

Calm is all you shall get here. Good place to spend quality time. Do not go in a sunny day. Wish they would allow to visit the temple inside. Must have some justification why do they not.

The philosophy is interesting on which the place is built. Lot of peace in the locality. Enjoyed it
