Always consistent...good quality, faie price, great fun, perfwct water view...a must ...a tradition...U am a licak whi feels luke I am on vacation when I go to Provision Company...love this place

Unassuming waterfront restaurant in Southport where you enter, place your order, grab a drink and sit down. When they take your order, they get your name and the wait staff bring you your food, you eat it and pay at the register before leaving. They use the honor system to cash patrons out. We stopped by recently and ordered the daily lunch special - - steamed shrimp and a deviled crab. The steamed shrimp were tender and flavorful. Deviled crab was good; not excellent, but I am not a big fan, as it typically contains lots of filler, which it did here. I would say the prices are in line with other restaurants in the area; food quality is good with some home made items available.

The atmosphere here is excellent. It's right on the water. Food could be a little better seasoned but still good. We come here every year we vacation on oak island, and our son will grow up knowing this restaurant.

We had high expectations. Great view! Food was below par. Not worth a return for us. One and done!

Order at the window and pay at the door going out by "telling them what you had"..

Not worth the money. Food is good but the paper plates and self serve drinks are not worth $60 for 2 people. And no alcohol involved.

Provision Company never disappoints. We go every time we are in Southport and then count down the days until we return. Excellent service, wonderful food, and the view cannot be beat.

A must go to place if you're ever close by. Great food and great staff. Also the best view for a sunset with a cold brew.

This is the best place in the world to eat #seafood, spend time with #family, and enjoy the #obx. The #view is lovely, there is good service, and on crowded days, there's plenty of space to wait around.

It's a #great #casual #classic place. Get the grouper, get the shrimp, get onion rings, just don't get left behind in the car.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. All of the food is wonderful! Highly recommend!

The staff is amazing and the whole reason for 2 vs 1 star. If I could, I would give the staff a 5 but the food was a disappointment; have had better seafood at home and other restaurants.

Visit it today was going to eat but we got there a little early the lady says we could go in and wait the 20 minutes inside some guy was eating at the bar throw his fork down and jump up from his seat and says we can't be in there very hateful so we left and went to the other provision company

We always have to take the ferry to eat grouper salad at Provisions.... delicious.

Really great location right on the water. All drinks, including alcohol, are self serve so while you wait for your table, you can take a drink out to the small dock behind the restaurant and relax with your feet in the water. The food was pretty good, not amazing but good enough. Great location, fun atmosphere, modest pricing, and a unique style.

One of the best restaurants in southport! My fiance, I, and my brother came for lunch after driving 500+ miles to our families house and my brother started passing out from heat exhaustion and they paid for his meal, certainly the most friendly people I have ever met in my life and some of the best food I have had! The burgers were very good and the customer service was above par! Will certainly be back for years to come!

Excellent vibes from a small hole in the wall! This place is RIGHT on the water, not next to it. They offer more humble items, but they're executed well. I got their steamed shrimp and a crab cake and it was delicious!

It doesn't look like a fancy restaurant and it isn't fine dining. There aren't a lot of menu items but what they have is beyond delicious! And the food comes out so quickly! Awesome views as it is right on the water. We had a large group of 15 and they took very good care of us.

A great locals type restaurant. Fast paced hard working staff. No AC but have ceiling fans and a tremendous water view. Waitresses and staff are friendly and attentive. Best crab cakes in town!! Good beer selection and self serve sodas. We enjoyed this restaurant very much.

The staff was incredibly polite, helpful, and cheerful! It was both homey and distinguished all at once. Every bite of food (crab cakes, corn on the cob, potato salad, and shrimp) was amazing. Great atmosphere, staff, and food. Wish I could eat there every night!

Very fast service even though they were busy. Pay attention to their directions as you make your way through the restaurant. The food was great. The atmosphere was very friendly, and the prices were fitting for good seafood on the water.

My entire family love this place. The food is fresh and simply prepared which means a fantastic meal. The simple setting keeps costs reasonable and adds a simple charm. I try to get to Provisions at least twice when I am on on vacation in the area.

Decent food for the price. It s cheap and filling but not the best I ve ever had. I had the crab cake sandwich with onion rings. I was expecting a crab cake with identifiable crab in it not a crabish paste cake. Potato salad was amazing though. I will come back and try something else to make a truly informed decision.

Fantastic food, great setting. Loved their mask mandate, made me feel safe to eat for the first time this weekend!!! Scary seeing all of the other places where staff and kitchen are not wearing masks! Thank you Provision Company for taking the sensible approach. Chicken sandwich was the best!

Every. Time. I. Go. Here. They. Have. Perfectly. Cooked. Shrimp. It s so easy to over-cook shrimp, but not here! It s always good, always has a wait (for good reason), and always worth it. You can tell the folks there really take pride in what they do and I make a point to go there every time I m in the area. Pro tip: save a lemon slice to clean up your hands after you ve scarfed the scrimps.

I've been in and through Southport for 20 years and this was my first time into the Provision Company, but it won't be the last. It is simple but great quick food. I had a haddock salad sandwich that was just great. Big chunks of fish on a nice fresh french roll. Their burgers looked great. The onion rings we're perfect. Order had enough to shsre. Place is rustic and right on the waters edge. You order at counter, grab yourself a beverage, and go find a table. They come and find you with your food and you pay using the honor system on way out. I'm going back to try a burger next time.

Recommended to me and my cousin , we came we ate, and we fell in love. Perfect weather, with a beer in hand, yummy crab cakes, and delicious Shrimp n Fries!!!!! If they had more than 5 stars I'd rate them higher.... Everybody was so sweet and so helpful! I can see why they come "Highly Recommended"

Fast quality service with awesome grilled yellowfin tuna sandwich.

This has always been one of our favorite places, but we are totally disappointed in it today. Our whole family came for lunch today, my husband called yesterday to make sure it was okay for me to bring my brand new 8 week old puppy and we were told absolutely but when we all arrive I'm told by not one but two waiters that he isn't allowed. I was offered to put him on a leash outside of where we would be allowed to sit in the parking lot that was not happening. Not sure I'll be back, it was very upsetting.

Great food! Nice setting down on the waterfront and did I mention great food. The steamed shrimp at this place is awesome! With an ice cream place next door we did follow up our good meal with ice cream cones. Loved it.

The Provision Company is a great spot for fresh local seafood like shrimp, fresh crab for crab cakes, fish of different varieties and other eats in Southport. Walk up, get your name in line, grab a drink out of the cooler (they work on the honor system here so be honest!) and check out the menu. When they send you back around to order they will ask for one personal item. This is so they can mark your table and keep the lines moving as quickly as possible. If you're in the area, make a day of heading to Southport, NC and while you're there pay Provision Company a visit. It is totally worth the stop.

Love.... love... love.... this place. We re locals and love going to this place at least twice a week. Pull up right with the boat or walk in from the road. Burgers are the best. Seafood amazing. People working extremely nice and wonderful. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Best restaurant on the strip hands above the rest out there.

Provision was highly recommended to me while in town for a business day trip. OUTSTANDING! Environment( laid back, family oriented and great views over the sound).Food was fresh and delicious, you won't be disappointed. Hospitality was second to none. Will make this establishment a regular visit whenever i'm in the area.

My first time trying Provision Company and it was great! The food was yummy and I loved sitting by the water! Very cool place!

First time here since we started vacationing in the area last year, and now living here permanently. Fun place! It's off-season so no crowd, but I can imagine this place being PACKED in-season! Great views of the water. Covered outside seating and a small bar. Definitely has a party vibe and a fun place to meet up for drinks! All the staff are super friendly! Definitely make it a stop when you're in Southport!

Good food, fair prices, fun atmosphere, and a true Southern local joint! The only reason I give it four stars is because the menu was slightly limited in regards to the options for the fresh catches (fish) of the day. The only fish on the menu they offered that day was tuna, which was good, and a grouper salad (mayonnaise based) which was not impressive and it was hard to tell there was even grouper in the salad.

The best deviled crab I've ever had! I'll go here everytime we visit that area! Service was very fast! Told us an hour and a half wait but only took about 30 minutes too seat 11 of us

No masks no service. These people need to stop watching CNN so much.
You have to wear a mask when you are ordering food outside and then walk to your table outside in a mask and you can take it off when you sit down. Makes absolutely no sense.
Their food wasn't that good either. Tuna was overcooked and hard to swallow. We had KFC the night before and it tasted better. Service was bad as well, they brought our food and didn't come back for anything until after we were done.

Great food and service. Lost an expensive ring while eating there. The staff found it. It was there waiting for me when I went back looking for it. What an awesome place with high standards in food, service, and ethics!

It is unique, laid back and made for beach people and people that enjoy different kinds of places. It is on the water so there is always a great view. If you enjoy new and different experiences give it a go. We are water people and not fussy about birds and other creatures that may visit.

This is my favorite spot to grab seafood in Southport. Nice view of the intercoastal and great food. I am a big fan of the shrimp. Check it out if you get down that way.
