We regret not having read the many negative opinions on this agency which withheld excessive amounts from our security deposit. The managers with whom we were in contact used the pandemic - an unprecedented crisis - as a pretext to prevent us from accessing, during the exit inventory, to the apartment we were returning. They pretended that this inventory was held during confinement (before May 11, 2020) while we have proof that it was held after (in both cases we had requested and were entitled to be present). They then falsified the date of this inventory on this official document. If we had been present during the exit inventory, it would have been impossible for them to try to justify the many abusive deductions from our security deposit for cleaning, painting and items that we did not have damaged, while we left the apartment cleaner than we had found it when we entered (see, among the hundred examples that we have kept, the photo of the refrigerator cleaned on our departure, which the agency described from "dirty", adjective then changed to "dusty" in their correspondence in response to our questions on the justification of cleaning costs). We had to wait several months, after numerous emails asking for the justification of one of the deductions on our security deposit, for them to specify that they had in particular withheld a certain amount from us for the redemption of an item that we had not damaged (item noted "in good condition" in the inventory of entry and exit). Fortunately, we are not one of the many foreign customers of Book-A-Flat who return to their country and do not know their rights.
