ASPRIA GROUP – Belgium Review

My first steps in the club are promising. Impeccable welcome, almost impeccable cleanliness and you really should be a fan of extraterrestrial leisure not to find what you need!

Expensive, but a very good club with everything you need. At least you know what you pay for.

Well, I am a long time member (7 years or so) but I think to quite since indeed the quality has gone down (but not marketing and prices ;-).
My cons:
-crowded classes,
-dirty and destroyed equipment,
-cold and dirty swimming pool,
-no special offers for long time members,
-demotivated trainers,
-boring class programme.

This club is popular mainly due to its location.

Very arrogant staff , there are so many people it makes it almost impossible to attend the super expensive classes you have paid for. Very old lockers, not normal in a would be premium sports club

This club certainly has all the machines, facilities and classes that you can think of, along with helpful staff. Somewhere along the way however, the idea that you need some space to breath, like to see some daylight, or want to find a quiet corner for yourself got lost. The water dripping from the ceiling for more than a year certainly doesnt live up to the aspired premium image and price of membership, which is one of the most expensive in Brussels.

Ideal fitness club for people who work in Brussels center. Club opens at 6.30 in the morning, large pool, appliances very well maintained, bathroom and wellness very clean and excellent service that the high price of the membership fee.

Very welcome, the staff is attentive, the teachers are attentive to everyone. Complete program.

A beautiful and spacious place. To play sports and relax. The staff is very welcoming. Professionals are here to help you. In the center of Brussels, it's the dream :)

Very expensive for what it is ... My previous opinion was deleted because I suppose annoying considering the truth which was revealed there ... I spent two years there and finally ... I was happy at first ... But the club is become much too expensive for what it is and the new club in which I am now is 50 cheaper and a little more chic ; It's just that there is no swimming pool! Contempt, disrespect and other forms of unpleasant behavior are present both at the level of clients and staff at ASPRIA Arts-Loi I recommend never to register The new manager in place for a few months has also adopted discriminatory behavior towards me and not suitable and that he can not help but say ... Sex in the relaxation areas that I have denounced are common currency in this club ... If you are a member, run away! If you are not already, never go!

Nice with tennis and garden where you can rest after your sport (fitness, swimming pool, group lessons) recommended

Very good club. The subscription is a bit high but the facilities are clean, modern and the staff is very nice.

Aspria is a good place. People are nice and the facilities are the best. But, improvement is always possible: do something about the shower heads!

Joined the gym and initially it seemed really good. However when I had to leave the country I informed them but they continued to charge for each month. When have you ever heard of a gym membership that does the following 1) Doesn't offer loyalty or allow you to bring in guests over a year as part of that loyalty. 2) Only offer guest passes for an initial period when you join and then when you want to use passes tell you that they have expired. 3)when you explain you were not informed ,continue to refuse offer any kind of concession. The staff at the front desk and the personal trainers are really nice people , the people responsible for the membership offer no flexibility to keep members. I left and I would have stayed had they even tried to make an effort to keep me, they didn't.

Very expensive but very nice. Also NM ice people around. Really a suggestion who wants to train in style.

This is a high end social club. Very classy and exclusive. Good place to be.

Not bad but they need:

- to open 24/24 or at least later until 1am.

- open bigger locations in Uccle and Chatelain.

- allow to prepay month with credit card.

- have a little cheaper option (match L Usine)

Great gym, membership includes sauna, hamam, big swimming pool, classes, and also has a jacuzzi! Apart from the price....it is a great gym. Not a lot of snobby people either which is good

My favorite place to do sport and relax. There some great coach and I love "the mills" classes.

Well there is the basic fit of the poor and that of the rich, the Aspria. With here the specificity European Commission. If you love the expat community, you will love it. Main language "the english off course". Prices have risen because the showers are free so he has these poor officials of the European Union, who not paid enough from 5000 net / month come enjoy the showers for hours and hours. The managers of Aspria have noticed the trick and have increased the rate of the subscription. True story. .. In short if you do not want to wait three hours for a shower come in the day you take advantage of this infrastructure of high quality.

I wanted only to get information about the available services and associated prices for subscription. Which turned not to be possible before you provide full details about yourself, even if you do not want to subscribe. I find this unacceptable, my personal information is personal! In addition the staff was slow, unfriendly and pushy.

Nice place in town, very friendly staff, good quality classes and great indoor swimming pool!

Overpriced and offer no loyalty program for long term customers. If there was another choice at reasonable distance from work/home I would have changed by now. Don't feel like they value customers at all.

Nice enviroment, by the end of the day what you pay is what you get.

Only downside: absolute boost weekdays from 12h to 14h ... At these times, the pool, very nice by the way, is filled with testosterone ready to pulverize records of all kinds. Very exhausting.

Very nice fitness place. Lots of different group classes. The functional area needs improvement (works should be on the way soon) and I don't like the low ceiling in the fitness. Staff is very friendly. A bit expensive for a fitness club but definitely worth it.

Once you register you are trapped for a whole year. Bad bad bad experience. With reference to what someone else wrote: swimming pool and gym still stink - nothing has been done unlike what management says. I gave one star to be kind: part of the personnel does its best.

Beware what you sign! Very rigid administration!

Initially I enjoyed good services in ASPRIA, friendly and nice staff, but when it came to the renewal of my membership the administration was completely surprising. While in the beginning they seemed flexible, ASPRIA administration became rigid to find solutions to the needs of the good faith members.

I will not renew and would certainly advise others to think twice before committing to the conditions of renewal. Beware of the one month notice you need to give before closing membership (counting from the first day of the following month!) and the one month notice you need for suspension in case of a professional trip, something nearly impossible to comply with unless ASPRIA exerts some good faith and flexibility, which is obviously not the case!

For the price charged, I find this rigidity absurd and misplaced. In any case, one client less!

One of the nicest health clubs in Brussels, but you pay a premium for the location

For European standards it's 2 stars max. For Belgium, I think this gym is the best you'll ever get. If you ever lived in any foreign land ;-) you will be disappointed. Small gym space, small (25m) swimming pool. Poor cleaning standards are still a norm- entrance to the pool stinks like a dead raccoon today.
That said, the classes alone are worth joining the gym. Try doing yoga in Belgium. Some crappy countryside class will set you back 80-100 . At least in Aspria you get a great choice of sports classes, dance classes, pretty amazing. In London, Berlin, even Tokyo such gym would cost 60-80 . Unfortunately Brussels is extremely overpriced and standards inferior to any developed capital city. So, to sum it up. Aspria, in my opinion, is the best sports centre you'll find in Belgium, for the price.

Too bad they did not take advantage of the closure linked to the covid to redo the changing rooms which are starting to be outdated even with an additional coat of paint, on the shower side, the door is moldy and
and is very damaged because of humidity, broken tile in some places ... given the price of the subscription we expect something high end.

The selection of courses is very wide, the tasteful rooms. Too bad that the frequency of the courses during the week is not optimal.

Overpriced and small gym. The only benefit is that it has a sort of decent pool, but then a ticket to a real pool is around 2.5 eur, so not worth it. Gym has no windows, gets very stuffy often.

Most of the nice members attending this place are the financially well off, considering the price of access to the club. This is the "select" side of the club: so here no Mohamed or Rachid who scream in the room or who appropriately the devices aggressively as in some low cost clubs. No here there are codes to respect, codes of politeness apparent (some snags between members are sometimes noted, one wanting to give a lesson to know how to live to another). But you will soon be confronted with the arrogance and lack of education of a few. No problem, aspria takes care of everything, even to make or redo your education if the need arises. They invented a little character named Mr Nice. You can rub it through various posters posted around the club: the "Aspria Lifestyle Golden Rules" on which Mr. Nice reminds you of the basic rules of politeness and savoir vivre: we put his used towels in the laundry basket and not on the floor (because the cleaning staff is not a doormat on which we wipe their feet), we do not eat in the locker room, we respect the silence in the sauna or steam room, we are clean and we take a shower before going into the pool, we say hello to the staff of the home when arriving at the club ... That is to say, if they invented Mr Nice is that ...
At certain times (between 16h to 20h), you will be entitled to a pink wave landing on the club, these are the favorite hours of the gay crowd of Brussels (many in this club), come to show and be seen. Do not be surprised to meet our Prime Minister sometimes. You will have to get used to some inquisitive and sometimes even heavy eyes. If one of the rubs rubs his knees in the sauna, or naked men masturbating in the steam sauna disturbs you (dares my husband), avoid these hours at all costs.

The gym area downstairs in depressing. No daylight. The free training area upstairs is lovely. The pool is nice. Needing to have one euro for the old fashioned locker with the key you may not loose is very annoying, however

Super Club immaculate. The staff is competent and frankly efficient. To recommend.

Best fitness center I've ever attended. Brilliant staff, infrastructure and classes

Made it my new home , good number of equipment, very good showers, sauna and spa. They recently did the whole swimming pool again and they keep on making the place better. The price is high, but with the number of classes they offer and the number and the good facilities / coach sessions included , the price is right.

Certainly, the most friendly room in Brussels thanks to its setting. A little dark for my taste. But I also recommend to go through the massages at the top.

Been there for a month, visiting 3 times per week. So far very satisfied with the very polite and attentive staff, the gym, the jaccuzi and the Sauna. I didn't have the opportunity yet to attend one of the many classes except once (WATFIT, not exactly my thing).
UPDATE 3 months later. First impression confirmed. Very satisfied. Just try to avoid the "rush hour" if possible(12:00 to 14:00 on weekdays and Saturday morning). Not that it's terrible but I prefer things a little calmer.

Very nice establishment. A large choice of group lessons regularly renewed and animated by very professional coaches. The subscription is expensive but the quality of the service is worth it. It is suitable for regular users.

I had the worst hair cut experience in my life in this club. I don't even want to call the lady hair dresser as her job is worse than how my mom does for herself at home. At first she only spent less than 3 minutes to just cut my hair short and told me it's done. I couldn't believe that she really only used a scissor to do one cut on my hair and called it done. And after I complained she should at least make some layer so the bottom won't look so ugly, then she spent another 5 minutes to cut a little bit more. After I came out, I found out the right side is much shorter than the left side. (Forgot to mention she didn't even cut the bangs at all) The total time she spent for wash , cut, blow dry, discuss the situation and payment is less than 30 minutes and the charge is 67 euro. While on the price list only the cut and blow dry should be at least 45 minutes. I met a friend after the cut and she was laughing like crazy. I usually will not try out a new hair dresser without any referral. But the club provides a discount and I thought in such a high class club all facilities should be very professional. It brought me another brand new experience in Brussels. I had to agree with other reciewers that the club is overcharged as this kind of service should never be happened in a high class standard club.

Under the Bob de Boef s management the quality of the club has dropped down:
- In 2014 three months without hot water to the showers;
- Two days the club has been closed causing the chloride gas from the pool in the fresh air pipes;
- In the classrooms is usually missed the fresh air and the customers and trainers are obliged to work like into a sauna;
- The lockers hasn t been changed in the last 15 years;
- In the last 12 years they changed the fitness equipment only once in 2013;


Please note that I was member from 2003 until June 2015 and this is in summary my bad experience with this club;

Soothing place. Pool a bit small (but a must in this place). Too bad the restaurant is gone.

This club is looking a bit run down now, it's a nice facility but shockingly overpriced, they seem to charge a premium (150/month) for the Aspria name but I would say other clubs have caught up now. Literally around the corner Healthcity (/Passage Fitness) is bigger, newer, half the price and not the ridiculous signing on fee.

Bizzarely, Aspria have their cardio room in a windowless internal room, dark and off-putting. Healthcity has a more normal brightly lit airy cardio room, much more inviting.

One of the best sports clubs and that in the center of Brussels. The service is great! The staff always friendly and pleasant. Perfect for people who want a busy job to escape from the hectic life in Brussels. The club is always clean, the facilities that the club offers are worth the membership fee.
