Upon arriving at this establishment we went inside, the hostess stated we needed to wear mask. We put our mask on. She continued to give us the run down as far as when we could eat. She stopped in the middle of her sentence to correct one of the lady s in our group about how she was wearing the her mask. The lady nodded in compliance. The hostess continued only to stop again to direct the lady that her mask was not right. The lady told her that her mask was right and was covering her nose. The hostess said our customers need to feel safe , by wearing your mask correctly it shows them that your helping them feel safe
This hostess was beyond rude, had a belittling tone about her, very snooty. I really have no idea why she felt talking to us in a derogatory manor was great excellent service ?
It was only after we had eaten and we got the bill that this particular waitress / hostess decided to be nice. Perhaps was it to get a tip? Yep no tip from me.

Outstanding food with a lot of options. The Bacon Bison Burger was amazing.

The beer was good too. Their specialty Ginger Rye in Whiskey Barrels really caught my attention as did their Dawn Patrol. A few of their others were good but not memorable.

Will definitely be back here.

Aslan brewing is a Bellingham staple! From this brewpub, you can see into the brewery. This brewery is polished up quite nicely. These beers are available all over Washington, but getting them here is the best way to do it. That said, Aslan beers never really blew me away, but that shouldnt stop you from trying out this Bellingham mainstay. Especially if you are hungry. Usually a bit of a wait. Cycling Cicerone approves!

Went with a party of 6 people. It wasnt abnormally busy and many seats were left. We came during happy hour at 9:10pm. We didn't actually order our food until 9:45, because every waiter in there did not bother to ask us if we would like to order. Finally a member of our group had to get up and walk to the kitchen to ask politely if we could be served. The waiter she talked to responded with "I just got busy..." in an annoyed tone. It was only then did we finally order.
(Happy hour was from 9-10pm). On the happy hour menu it stated "1 dollar off 16 oz beer." The beer I ordered (The Irie Eyes Red ale) was, original price, 5$ for a 9 oz and 6$ for a 16oz. Trying to take advantage of the happy hour deal (1 dollar off 16oz) I ordered the 16 oz, expecting the beer to cost 5$. Not only did it cost the original price of 6$, (which isn't that big of a deal its only one dollar.) They brought me a 9 oz AND CHARGED ME FOR THE 16oz. I just let the dollar go and got out.
The food was also a let down. Made to look fancy but not very good tasting.
One good note: The beer (Irie Eyes Red Ale) was a pretty good beer. I was impressed with it. It was well balanced and very crisp. It also had alot of depth which made it very easy to sip at. Tasted wonderful, it was unfortunate that the beer was the only highlight.
My suggestion? Buy their beer, do NOT go to their restaurant until the customer service and the food improves significantly.

Arrived at opening hour on a Monday. Busier than I would have thought. This place is obviously popular. Service was good but took a long time to get our beers considering the time of day.

The beers were consistently good and food was fine. Mac and cheese bites were the standout.

The reason for the modest review is the pricing. Two flights cost $30! The worst part is they charge you $2 extra for each premium beer in your flight. This is completely insane as the serving size is so small it s barely worth $2 in total. The cost when you consider exchange is about double what you would pay for a flight in Vancouver, a city in which it s much more expensive to operate a business.

I get that you have to pay for quality, but this felt more like gouging.

You may think of only beer when you hear "brewery" - but the food is really why I keep returning. I'm impressed every time I eat there. There's a great variety - from healthy bowls and salads to guilty pleasures like poutine. If you're not into beer, they also offer cider and non-alcoholic options like ginger ale and root beer. I have friends who visit from Canada just to eat and drink at this place.

Had the best time ever. We just recently moved here. Gosh can I still say that even??? It will soon be two whole years come March. And it s December. So I think we are still new. And apparently so do all our friends and family as they still visit constantly. Seriously, a new family members or friends visit almost monthly. We have our certain places we always take our visitors. Annnnd this place is DEFINITELY one of them!!
We are always greeted nicely. And treated well. That s really all I want. The food or whatever could be less than par and I d still give a five star review if my family, friends and I are treated like we matter. Like our money matters!!! It bothers me when places don t understand the customer is paying their bills.

I m so happy that a friend of mine brought me to this brewery. This is his go-to for people visiting and I wasn t disappointed. Cool atmosphere with open space and good music. Huge tap selection of their beers and I tried of taster of 6. Very cool that they had cards for each of their beers describing hops, malt, taste, etc. I wish other breweries did that!! I ll definitely be coming back again when I visit Bellingham.

If you just want beer, this is your place (especially if you like Hoppy IPA types). But I have never found something on their menu that I liked. I've tried their grilled cheese (too much bread to cheese ratio), their brussel sprouts (meh), Poutine (hard to mess up, but their sauce is mushroom based), and a bowl (90% cabbage) and overall I've never even finished a meal.
My family loves their beer though, so we still go frequently but I now know to eat ahead of time.
If you are vegan or vegetarian or even a pescatarian, this is a great place for you!
Notes: service is always great, communal tables (not a fan personally), expect a wait, not really a comfy environment, do have patio seating, family friendly

As always great food and good beer. I was a little annoyed that they rent their upstairs area for $50 an hour when we had 15 people and spent well over $500 on food and drinks, did they really need that extra $100 to make it "worth it" for them to serve us. Can't complain too much though, great space for a get together, and our service was good.

Food choices were good, and the beer was great, with diverse options for everyone. The crowd was hipster and the staff was very helpful. Parking is hit-and-miss, and the weather made the place feel cozier on the inside. Overall a great experience and we would go back on a return trip.

Very, very loud place to eat. Went with a group from work at dinner time and we only waited about 30 minutes for a table. Can't say anything about their beers, but everyone else seemed to like theirs. The food was really good and the bacon jam was out of this world.

Great beer, really good snacks, and cool vibes. Went there for happy hour and got half liters of the Ginger Rye and the Disco Lemonade. The Ginger Rye had nice notes of ginger and lime, and were a really nice, refreshing twist for an ale. Since it was happy hour, we got the pretzel with beer cheese, poutine, and Mac balls, all of which were good, but the Mac balls in particular were perfectly fried and cheesy. All of this plus the chill music made this a place I look forward to visiting again.

So they do have local food here which is super exciting! Not all of it is organic but they do have options that are. It is an easy place to take children and to stop in somewhere for a bite to eat. Having an all organic beer selection for the connoisseur. However one of my favorite parts about this place besides the local food was the customer service. I do recommend checking out Aslan and getting on board with their bowels.

Beers I tried: IPA - a little on the bitter side for me, but tasty; Jah Hemp - toasted hemp seed flavor is pronounced; Ginger Rye - this is my new favorite beer.
The atmosphere is pretty industrial, and the sound gets overwhelming with all the glass and concrete in there. There's a nice patio outside though, so in the summer there's a refuge from the noise. Given that they're the only organic brewery in town, I'll be going back.

Visited Aslan Brewing Company with a party of 6 including my cousin who is full time in a wheel chair. It was a busy Saturday lunch time, but we waited for over 45 minutes watching several parties who came in after us be seated before . By the time we were seated our party decided to have only a beer, which was very good by the way, and not order food. I believe the issue lies with inadequate training of the hostess. We didn't expect special treatment, just equal treatment. The venue seemed fun and hip, but all of that was over-shadowed by our frustration due to the limited accessibility.

I was worried for Aslan when they first opened their doors, the beer was meh. But, now, the beer is great and the food selection is great. The Satan's Airport Imperial Milk Stout was very delicious. I have heard they have the best low/no abv around. I was expecting more from their root beer tho. Worth your time and money. For two, you can easily spend $50.00.

Spectacular selections and relaxed atmosphere launch this to one of my new favorite spots in downtown Bellingham.

Large selection of company brews plus some local guest taps garuntee that anyone will find an adult beverage to satisfy. Food is also great, the Whatcom Bleu Butter (Bleu cheese / butter sauce) will make any burger ten times better. And last, but not least, the friendly (and full of puns) staff were prompt, courteous, and were able to supply an in-depth knowledge of the offerings to match you with the perfect brew/grub combo.

Definitely will be visiting again and recommending to all my friends.

Aslans Batch 15 is one of my favorite beers in town, and the bison burger is amazing. The whole place has a great vibe, only suggestion is maybe some more comfy seating. Chairs are cold, hard, stools.

I have it on good authority that the poutine at Aslan was recently smuggled over the border by the Canadian Department of Culinary Espionage because it's so good. The fact is, all the food here is good, as is all the beer. Due to this goodness, Athlon is busy at all the times you would expect; weekend evenings, during a game, etc. Don't let that stop you from coming, the wait is never too bad, and it is certainly worth it.

The beer has been improving since they opened and the food is excellent (with the exception of one burnt dish). There are large community tables that are great for large parties, or for getting to know new people.

Summer is here and Alsan has one of the best patios in Bellingham! Really good selection of beer and food. I would say that the decor, vibe, and atmosphere is the real showstopper that makes me want to come back next time I'm visiting. Definitely a go to stop if you are in the area! Large area that can accommodate a lot of people which is always a bonus.

All the food is insanely good. Being the creature of habit I am I always get 2 carnitas tacos and 1 yam taco at happy hour when you can mix and match and buy however many you want. Or I'll go for the carnitas Hawaiian bowl.

The beer is all organic, delicious, and they always have something new.

Service is on point and they hook up the water if you're extra thirsty.

Good vibes as well with local artists work rotating on walls and the person sitting next to you probably has a lot in common with you.

This is a fun atmosphere, and the service is usually pretty great. The food is all right, though they're heavy on the rice in the stir fry. I'd recommend sticking with a burger, personally. And of course, try the beer! Their hard cider selection is really good, as well.
