We were happy to experience the tasting menu once, but agree that it was not worth $600.

The flavor combinations were fun and tasty, though I'm really particular about some textures and ended up sneaking a few of the dishes to my boyfriend (oysters, fatty pork jowl, smoked fish). The staff was wonderful and the chefs did an amazing job working around my boyfriend's tree nut allergy. Our only objection was the high price point for the tasting menu, two cocktails, and wine pairings. We would definitely go back for dinner, or to check out their downstairs bar.

Interesting food. Definitely worth going once for the experience and to try a lot of new things.

I paid $50 to add black truffles to one of my dishes and it was actually my favorite parts of the night. I don't have much experience with truffles, and getting to see the effect they can have on a dish was really fun.

Go once if you like trying lots of new and different things. But it's expensive (our dinner was $600 for two), and obviously not something you'd do more than a once every year or several years.

The staff was kind and helpful an clearly passionate about food and drink. They were key to the experience. Their seared ahi tuna was AMAZING. The smoked mussels were a new, pleasant experience. I loved the beef's tongue and how tender and flavorful it was.

My husband and I came here last fall for our anniversary. We've never spent so much money on a meal, but it was totally worth it! We had the 7-course menu with wine pairing, and everything was perfect, better than expected. Service was highly knowledgeable and attentive. This is a great place to come for a truly special experience.

Some really good, and some OK. But what I like about this place is the refreshing culinary experience. Nothing is normal, flat, plain. A lot of taste mixtures, research, creativity. Most of the time successful. We had the 5 courses with wine pairing. The three tomatoes, the crude scallops and stuffed quails were amazing, the black cod good, the dessert needs some improvement. Wines are unusual but tasty. Service friendly, not overwhelming. Not cheap but we'll go again. A step above these superstar NW seafood restaurants.

Upscale restaurant. Casual environment, strong cocktails, certainly a high price tag (each individual item is not expensive necessarily, but it is small plate style and it starts adding up; there s also a tasting menu for $125). It was worth trying; but I wasn t exceptionally impressed (compared to Altura for instance) . The menu changes frequently; therefore I might give it another try.

I was not happy with the tasting menu. There wasn't a single dish that me or my husband really liked. After $350, we left hungry and disappointed. Cafe Juanita's tasting menu blew us away and we were expecting something close to that with Art of the Table.

Art of the Table Jan 3 2019
Has potential, nice place, nice staff. Not too noisy. We had the 5-course menu. The dishes generally would benefit from better thinking and fewer ingredients, but nothing was at all bad, generally very nice. The big disappointment was the wine pairings; next time I ll just get a bottle. The best wines were the initial cremant and the Pineau de Charentes with dessert. The others were a mediocre Friuli, sweeter than usual, a really bad Wurtzgarten Mosel much too sweet and just bad, a bit raw Valpolicella Classico which would better have been a Riserva (those are special), a sort of nice but shellacky Champagne, and a good Grenache mix from CA. Don t get truffles. The food doesn t begin to compare to the Degustations at places like the classic Andre Soltner Lutece in NYC, or the carte food at Loulay. Lots of salt. Very expensive. The chef is ambitious but overreaching and might consider a more classical approach.

Our server James and bartender Taylor along with the incredibly amazing and talented kitchen team made tonight's tasting menu out of this world. The atmosphere tasting inside was wonderful. The three course amuse bouche was a surprise and a perfect indicator of what outstanding courses were to follow. Wish home had incredible restaurants like Art of the Table. Will fully recommend to every and anyone traveling to Seattle

If you read the one star reviews, you will see that the customer is HORRIBLE, and they are right. Shannon was the RUDEST manager I have ever encountered. To call your customer a liar is never acceptable in the restaurant industry. I don t care how good the food is, I would never eat here.

On my second visit to AOTT I brought my husband for our anniversary, and had an absolute blast. It was personal (we were greeted with a bubbly toast to mark our occasion) and the food was exceptional.
Do sit at the counter. Do order wine pairings. Don't worry about what to wear - jeans are fine.

I hate to do this, but we regretted spending the money on a lackluster dining experience at Art of the Table. I must say, 5 stars goes to the service! Very attentive and friendly. Our waitress made the meal. As for the food, it was ok. We were celebrating our anniversary and chose the seven course option based on this having a reputation of a foodie place. We were so grateful and appreciative of our waitress for letting us know the wine pairing would only get us two glasses of wine per person. Not worth the extra $60/person. If you are schmoozing a client or date, great place. If you enjoy food and presentation, I know there have to be better places in Seattle.

Absolutely gorgeous space that seems to find the right balance between practical decor and clean lines skirting minimalism. I just found the price point too steep a hike from their previous location.

Sat at the bar for their drinks and appetizers. Delicious, strong drinks. Attentive, kind staff. Fresh, delicious food. Hit the three most important marks for me! Quiet ambiance, perfect for a date night, with your partner or a friend.

Great decor, ambiance, and flavors. It s definitely in the upscale category based on the formality of service and price point (menu prices seem reasonable until they recommend 2-3 plates per person). It was the best gnocchi I ve EVER had though.

Be prepared to spend at least 2.5 hours for dinner. It's a tasting menu and consisted of 8 or 10 dishes (I can't remember). The portions were quite big and I was so full by the 4th course. Service was excellent but wished each course came out faster.

We did the chefs menu and wine pairing. Everything was very good and the staff did a nice presentation. The bartender made specialty cocktails for one person in the group that did not like wine. All of the drinks paired just as well as the wine and sometimes better.

This place has amazing food. We managed to get a table in the lounge with the small plates menu; final bill after several plates and drinks was around a $100. I have had better finds here in Seattle for the price, but the staff were the best, and not a thing was bad. A good find, happy I had the chance to dine here.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Seattle. Unlike many of the restaurants in this city, it's not run by some guy that decided he's good at creating menu's so he hired some guy that could follow directions to make dishes for him. The chef and owner Dustin is in this kitchen every single time and is there creating the works of art that will soon be hitting your tastebuds. I'm usually here on Monday or Thursday, where no reservations are made and you wait for a table but the supper clubs are where you get the full experience. Granted it's not some fancy establishment with intimate two-tops and white tableclothes - it's simply all about the food (and drink). I haven't found another place that is this welcoming, consistantly good and has the same value for the quality of ingredients that they're using.

Won't return and here's why: just an 'ok' customer service, the two (most important dishes on the chef's tasting menu @$115 a piece) were COMPLETE screw up (chewy duck, and a rubber tasting halibut). The chef eventually showed up, and apologized, he said that it would be taken off our bill (ended up to be $30 off our $350 check, but then they've included an additional 20% service charge?!? hahaha). We chose to ignore this, and left with paying our bill in full. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant; there are MORE ENJOYABLE places in Seattle (with no mandatory service charge; a MUCH more sophisticated food and a better customer service). To the chef: fix the duck issue, and don't overcook your fish. Hope this helps.

We've frequented Art of the Table several times now, and I'm surprised at how rude and snooty some of the wait staff can be. Normally, we have just dealt with it because the food is good and the place cozy. But just now, we called to make a reservation, was put us on hold for 15 minutes and then was hung up on. When we called back, the woman on the phone very rudely said "What do you want?" and told us that there were no tables. Why she had to put us on hold for 15 minutes for telling us that, I don't know. I think they've lost as customers for good.

This is in my neighborhood, and I usually go spontaneously and sit in the bar area where you don't need a reservation. They have a special sometimes where you can get a bottle of wine and three small plates for $40, which is a fantastic deal. The small plates are indeed small, but the menu changes frequently and the quality is amazing. I'm especially fond of the mushroom tamale and the Kegs and Eggs cocktail. Mitch, the beverage director, is super nice and informative without being at all condescending. Every time I go here I end up in a fantastic mood. The main restaurant does a fancy tasting menu that would likely require a reservation and a few hours to really enjoy the full experience.

We had a great dining experience the night we visited but for all the hype we had heard beforehand, we were a bit disappointed. Food is delicious but compared to other tasting menu experience it didn t go up to par. Their wine was also particularly pricey for the caliber of restaurant

Completely overpriced for the food... This was a 7 course meal (total amount served was maybe equivalent to 1 plate) for 3 people with a wine pairing each that we were expecting to pay $400-500 for. The food was decent, but not any thing out of this world. Our menu was hard to read and did not make any sense nor did it have a price. We knew that our meal was going to be expensive... but not $850+ expensive!!!!

Walking in, I was surprised to find that I felt overdressed for this high end restaurant in jeans and nice shirt. Our waitress was very sweet and took our concerns over the bill professionally; however, when turned to the manager we were addressed nonchalantly that we should never have been appalled at the price.

In the end, if you want to impress people on how much money you can spend on the meal, go ahead and go here. But I will tell you that you ll find a better experience/food/price somewhere else like Lark in Capitol Hill.

Excellent, top notch! Meets and exceeds expectations, best meal I have ever had. The flavors, textures, and balance of each dish is carefully thought through. The wine pairings are just as spot on as the dish itself. Definitely recommend for a mildly casual, high dining adventure.

Exquisite. Mitch made our dining experience a culinary event. His tasting recommendations were spot on as were his unique wine pairings. The food was fresh, creative, delicious, and artistically designed. This is a must go to if your looking for an evening to remember.

Really not worth the time or money.

Really not worth the time or money.

I had the seven course tasting menu along with my family and several friends. Several dishes were supremely over salted, and the brisket was just dry and bland. There was only one server who actually waited on our table of six, and although the plates were warm, some of the food was lukewarm at best.

For a tasting menu with a built in gratuity, I would expect more servers for a larger group of people, and unanimous feedback on over salted dishes to actually be noted. Also thought it was worth noting that amongst six people, plating was inconsistent in sizes and aesthetic. Unfortunately this was quite a disappointing experience.

I took my friend and sister out for dinner here for a little bachelorette party and I couldn't believe the quality of the food. It was certainly an adventure to try some new flavors of foods. The waitress who served each course described to us how it was made and what ingredients were in each dish. They are very friendly and are willing to change the menu to your needs. I am going to treat my fiance to this place next chance I get.

Amazing place. Great ambience between a hip restaurant and someone's stylish home kitchen. Impeccable service, can't say enough about it. Definitely do the prix fix tasting menus. Nothing more fun than chefs custom making 5-7 courses for you. This place is quite expensive (2 7 course meals + 2 bottles if wine + gratuity = ~$500) so he careful about your wine selection, but once in every few blue moons, wirth it.

For three people, with wine pairing, the cost was $823 for mediocre food. WAAAAY WAAAAY over priced!!!!! I went to Lark two nights ago and the price was ~$80/person, including 2 glasses of wine. The menu here a AoTT was confusing and the prices were not posted! The food served didn't seem to match what was on the menu. Go somewhere else! I haven't felt this ripped off in 30 years.

Without a doubt, this is my favorite place to eat in Seattle. I have eaten things here that I would swear I would hate only to find I'd never had it prepared the right way. Any meal here is a treat, and I highly encourage you to trust the chef and go for the Chef's Tasting Menu.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and couldn t have been happier with our choice. From the initial greeting the staff was amazing, super friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu and offerings.

The atmosphere was laid back but had a great lively undertone thanks to the open kitchen.

They were so thoughtful and served us an oyster and glass of champagne to kick off our celebration. Following that was a string of incredible dishes even my photos can t do justice.

It's all about the table service and table manners. Very respectable table service and style. Top notch. Well trained staff, service, and knowledge base of the food being served.

Food taste, however, was a bit lacking comparing to the table service. Flavors are well played but somehow not meshing. Perhaps there's too much hype about the expectations... the cost per dish and the amount of food served per dish remain lacking and lackluster, less than impressive. But did I mention the Table?

Perhaps that's why this place is all about the Art of the Table..... the Art of the food...well, it's somewhat there but not all there. Sorry.

In a word - amazing. Best meal of my life. Not even joking a little bit. Dustin pours his soul into his food and the knowledge the staff had on sourcing was incredible (and I work in agriculture, so I should know). What made the night extra special was Mitch, the bartender. He made us amazing off menu concoctions, brought us pairings for our dishes, and truly was a wonderful part of our meal. We wandered in on a Friday night not having any preconceived notions (and this is important for a place that cares as much about your meal as you will) and left feeling like we had made great friends with the owners and staff. Definitely will go back and recommend and rave all day about this place. So glad it is in walking distance (for us) and fosters community. Art of the Table is something special - from a never ever written a review ever person, but just had to.
