I did love it. So comfy room are small but snug. Toilets same. Lovely shower. Great view on to Loch long. Basically on its banks. 1 star is because 6vof us left the bar in disgust vowing never to return. There was entertainment costs ng so after a long days fishing and a lovely meal we were looking forward to a few drinks & some music. Till this old drunken guy staggered up to Mike. We obviously thought it was a local drunk but no he was the singer. We had a food laugh at that but we'd make best of it till we noticed he had taped his songs when sober & was miming so my mother wasn't getting rod Stewart, also initially we didn't understand the look of disgust he gave her when asking for rod till he said" I used to sing all the food songs like simply the best but I've had to water it down a bit, too many complaints, then he launches in to a rendition of penny arcade. We're a family who visit celtic Park weekly but never partake in any sides songs outside of the game as it always ends with trouble. Not that he was caring. Even after being asked not to play it. So we just went to bed sat night 9pm in our beds because of an old bigot with too much too drink. I hope you have got rid of him in two weeks when we come or we'll have to go elsewhere. Don't want to as apart from him ruining it, I mean if he wasn't there I would have no problem giving hotel 5 stars.

This hotel has probably seen better days. Location is great but the rooms are really outdated (especially the bathrooms) and with paper-thin walls and doors, you have the pleasure of sharing your neighbours' intimacy... Breakfast was OK. The only positive thing worth mentioning is the service which was good. In summary, completely overpriced for what it is... Sadly the whole village does not fare any better, with half of its shops being closed for good.

Older lady at desk not very welcoming. Hotel very dated. Our room had stains on the walls. Spider and cobwebs above the curtain. Heating we could not control manually. It was so hot we had to open the windows. Lamp did not work. Shower curtain all pink and mould stains at the bottom. Disgusting! Breakfast, the host took our room number and said help yourself to the buffet. Orange juices were all warm. Milk was warm. Very very basic. I asked if that's all there was to offer. The host says no, the menu is there on your table. No information of this on arrival. The cooked breakfast was minimal. One sausage. One uncooked fried egg, one potato scone, one piece of bacon and black pudding. Toast. There could have been more of an option. Baked beans, mushrooms, scrambled, poached eggs. For such an outstanding hotel in a perfect location. Just disappointed. Lunch meals were skimpy for what I was paying. The entertainment was shocking. Really shocking. Won't be back!

Great Location, breakfast, price and traditional feel (not in the bad way) - there were parts that could do with a bit of fresh paint and a little more explaining about the FREE drink promo for not having your room cleaned (read the small print)

Would recommend highly

My partner and I stayed at this Hotel for one night.Cant say anything about the room.Clean fresh linen.Fab view of the Loch. What I will say is that the breakfast staff put me off eating..They were dirty looking uniforms.First thing in the morning, they should have been clean and fresh uniforms. One boy could not fit into his shirt. His trousers were discusting, with god knows what on them. They were held together at the bottom with tape or staples on the, what was obvious ripped seam. Not very professional looking. If the waiting staff do not take pride in their apperence then what does the kitchens look like??Also,a Goodmorning ,would have been nice..

If I had the choice again, I would not book here again. During my 13 day trip I never felt so uncomfortable as in this hotel. We were there for 2 nights. The room was very large and at first pretty nice, but the closer look no more. Stains on the linen and pillows, hair in the shower. The bathroom was pretty shabby and everything was really musty and noisy. But the best thing was that our room was not cleaned the next day. We did not get any fresh towels or toilet paper. On request we got a set of towels and toilet paper. The breakfast was ok. There is no cheese ... I found it strange, but not so dramatic. The location is relatively good. All in all, I can not recommend the hotel.

This hotel is reasonably comfort but there is not an lot to do in the close vicinity, and virtually no services. It can be an alternative to Tarbet lodging, especially if you have a car (otherwise a 20-30 minute walk).

A nice Hotel with friendly and hard working staff, yes a little dated but my room was modernised with new Shower, bedroom furniture, phone and Television and plenty hit water and heating. I had a single room which I asked for and front view of the Loch.
Brakfast was choice of Juices and Cereals or Porridge and fruits, plenty toast and tea or coffee with an adequate hot Scottish breakast.
Pleasant and friendly staff and Manager and a good Tribute Weekend with suprise laughs and bar prices same as your local pubs etc. Two nights with entertainment breakfasts and 3 course beautiful meals !
But some people will complain about even a chopped but of paint. Well done Arrochar Hotel I will be back.

Stayed for one night as a stopover whilst travelling further north. Welcoming, clean, efficiently run Hotel overlooking the top end of Loch Long. Food was good, the bar well stocked and they have live entertainment in the evenings. Would certainly stay there again.

Old, run down hotel, we didn't expect much, but for the price it is better to walk across the street there is a 4 star B&B.
The rooms are musty and moldy, at least the bed was clean. Breakfast adapts to the rest of the hotel.

Small rooms with old run down bedding.
Shower pressure wasn't good and breakfast was pretty bad. Feels like the place is going to fall over as it's still stuck in the 70s!

As a regular visitor to this hotel, several times a year and for several nights each time, I have become fed up with the rudeness of the staff, particularly at check-in and check-out. Last time I stayed at the Village Inn and it was so much better. Arrochar Inn? Never again!

Existing staff is friendly, but I think they are working understaffed. Check in was 3 pm but we had to wait 30 mins additional. There is no cellular signal in Arrochar. So you have to relay on accommodation WiFi, and this hotel's WiFi is very very slow.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here. First night was in a room on the back as we didn't realise we had to ask for a room with a view when booking but a quick word with reception and they were able to move us to the front overlooking the Loch for the next night. Very friendly staff.

Definitely avoid! Mold in the bathroom, breathing in it hardly possible, immediately scratchy throat! Picked up a number of complaints. Arrogant and lousy staff in the restaurant. Not even anything to drink was offered. As a "standard room guest" you are treated here as a second class guest.

Hotel needs a makeover and the entertainment was awful, we went straight back to our room after dinner which was nothing great, the only thing worth writing about was the view from our room was amazing but not all rooms had the same view. 2 stars and that's me generous.

Fantastic friendy, helpful staff. Incredible views despite the pretty terrible storm, loved watching the clouds roll as the poor seagulls showed off some acrobatics. Great easy to reach beautiful nook of Scotland - next time taking better waterproofs and definitely trying at least part of the cobbler. Great escape!

We had a lovely time at this hotel. Staff are doing all they can with restrictions in place. Food was good and breakfast had all you need. The deal we had was great and the view from our room was amazing, looking directly at the cobbler. The only issue was other hotels and bars had outside gazebos set up so you could have a drink. This hotel is not taking advantage of this for hotel guests.

My 4th visit, so it can't be bad. Excellent location in the Arrochar Alps next to Loch Long. Old fashioned style hotel, some may say in need of updating, but I like it just fine and will come again. What better recommendation is there.

Comfortable bed, spacious room - in need of TLC. Very dusty behind tiny TV, mould on wall behind curtains & bathroom requires a deep clean. Reasonable choice on menu but pricing is confusing - very tasty though. Staff helpful.

The lounge and dinning area have great views but that's about it ,bedroom and bathroom need a deep clean, i also work in a 3 star hotel as a housekeeper and I would be sacked if my rooms were like that also no bottled water in the rooms, one and a half rolls off toilet paper only and no hangers, bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed I've slept in, cobwebs and mould throughout.alot on offer for breakfast , cooked breakfast small but reasonable location is great and staff were pleasant , I wouldn't stay again

so help me, I never want to go here again. The room had a nice view, that was the best bit. This hotel caters mainly for coach parties and normal residents are secondary by along way. there was entertainment suited to a certain age group too

Seems to be a popular hotel, I had the impression that it was fully booked when I stayed. Old and very datet rooms. Hotelier and staff unfriendly and I had the impression that they just bought the hotel without any hotelexperience. Gave no welcome feeling at all. I would only return If there would be no hotel in a cirkel of 50 miles. Most bizar was the entertainment after diner. Musician had severall tapes and pretended to play different guitars. He didn't, he had no idea how to play or airplay the guitar. It was sadly amusing.

While in a good location the price was not worth the value. I stayed one night in a small room. It's a two star hotel so the poor decor and dated wall paint didn't bother me much. However the toilet was loud, running for minutes after a flush. The whole room smelled of strong cleaner. There were cobwebs in the corner of the room.

The worst was the bed. Their mattress is in dire need of replacing. It was lumpy, as were the pillows, hard and filled with holes. The sheet meant to cover the mattress was disintegrating. After a terribly itchy nights sleep I was glad to go.

Avoid if you can.
