Learned to snowboard here with the classes offered. Did the group classes but would suggest the individual classes if possible. Pretty easy going staff and nice location within the mountains.

Excellent staff, good food, and great runs make this a great place for a ski vacation. Weekends get extremely busy (25+ minute waits at the base lift). If you want more time on the slopes, I recommend coming on a weekday.
The Legend! Great place, especially in the spring. You just can't beat months of fun corn and slush.
If your name is Ken or Barbie than you won't really be the standard person on the hill. The Basin is somewhat unlike other ski areas I was going to use the word Resort but this really isn't a resort per se. There are no condos or housing subdivisions or grand shopping malls. It's really just a ski hill that has plenty of intermediate terrain but definitely leans a bit towards expert and pretty gnarly aggressive stuff if you're into that. When you visit in the 2018-2019 season you'll find some things have changed 1 lift removed, another lift replaced as well as another new chair. The general feel is very local not a lot of attitude just a hell of a place to ski all the way to usually about the first week of June. The Basin is served by a world-class, superbly managed Ski Patrol and Clinic, guest services as well as quite reasonably priced, decent food for a ski area. There is pretty nice little newly-expanded retail shop in case you need to pick up anything related to skiing. And obviously ski gear rental is full on. Day tickets and season passes are actually very very well priced compared to the Colorado Market. And know that this is a world-class ski area so the value is all there. Late season when everybody else is closed, the Basin can get a little bit crowded but it's still no big deal I don't think I've ever stood in line more than 10 minutes. Maybe one or two days out of the entire season you might be 15 minute lift lines at the base. Check out ABasin and follow the Alpine code, you'll have ayou'll good time.
If you dont love this place there is something wrong with you. Cant wait for "The Beavers" lift to open next year!
Honestly it was just my second time skiing in my life, I think Arapahoe Basin is the perfect place for beginners, o loved the place.
My 8 year old son and I came out there this past weekend and went snowboarding for the first time.
Our instructors Kait S and Tom S were both amazing. Very patient, very fun and very knowledgeable. The views here are amazing, food is good and all the staff were friendly. Definitely recommend this place for any person at any level.
Stunning. Also the Lodge at the top of the first list has the best bloody Marys I've ever had in my life.
Amazing trails and lifts. The employees were amazing and very helpful. It was snowing pretty hard outside but they were still very happy and helpful.
Better than Breck. Better than Keystone. Maybe the best in Colorado. Most fun natural mountain skiing and riding. Awesome open mountain Backcountry, a true adventure.
Love this place! Easy to get to, short lines, great skiing.
The Legend....well worth the visit...I always have fun here..early season turns top to bottom or extreme skiing the many chutes bowls and steeps in the Spring. This is Rocky Mountain High Skiing at its best...the original The Legend.
Fun skiing as always, the first and last place to open the lifts in Colorado and often the US
We are addicted to Abasin. Can't get enough of the laid back vibe at a mom and pops ski area. Plus we can bring our furry friend.
Well, their "easy trail" not so easy. Just be aware of that ;) other than that it's a great place
Great terrain and snow conditions. One of my favorite places to ski to avoid crowds. A warning: not much beginner terrain. This resort is best enjoyed by people who have been skiing/riding a few days already.
This is a laid back resort with great food and friendly staff, I couldn t ski or snowboard because of an injury and the staff took really good care of my family. Our trainer Danny was knowledgeable and easy going! Definitely will skip Keystone and come back to A-Basin.
Love this resort. The high elevation means a longer ski season and lots of challenging runs.
Great staff and facilities. Realistic lift prices and loads of steeps...
Decent mountain....tons of douche-bag workers though.....especially in the rental building.
Great experience riding here. Only complaint I had was that I was confused on what Vail (Epic) tickets they honored. They landed up working with me and making everything right. Really amazing local hill feel in a big mountain way.
Best laid back ski area in Colorado. 1st to open in the USA and often open until June or July.
The slopes were groomed to perfection. We had a great time.
Nothing compares to The Legend. Consistently has the longest non-glacier season in the Northern Hemisphere and as part of the Epic pass is eminently accessible. Conditions change rapidly which make it a very interesting place to ski. Excellent, friendly staff.
My only complaint is the parking lot!!!
It should be paved!
Smaller ski area but, great snow. Food on the mountain is very good and doesn't cost a fortune.
Excellent snowboarding for advanced boarders. Also nice lodge to hang out in and people watch.
What can I say? Its Abay. Love it. Always celebrate my birthday here in May, because it's the mountain open off I-70. Awesome vibe good prices if you dont have a pass. Camping out in the lot with the homies, so many good times and more to come.
Incredible mountain for snowboarding and skiing. Has extreme slopes on the backside and some good blues on the front, with nice little side paths through the trees for a relaxing ride. There's also a small terrain park with some rails and boxes to try some moves on.
Unable to travel to Arapahoe Basin due to Covid19. The company is offering no refund for day passes. I am a college student who lives in Florida and saved my money for this trip.
Parking is terrible but the skiing is great. I love visiting A basin
I love the basin. Today I was disappointed in the staff. Don t let everyone wait in line for 20 minutes then close the lift in my face and say go to the other lift. Another lady in line said a ski patrol told her not to get in the line?? Ahh ummm am I missing something? I didn t miss the wind and all the snow. I understand wind and avalanche dangers. If you knew you were closing the lift why would you let 500 people wait in the lift line for nothing? Some of us have responsibilities and children and such so my 5 or 5 runs goes to 4. That s lame. I m sorry but that s not cool. I don t think anyone would have perished if you would have put the line at the the back up appropriately and let those people load and come down.
A basin is amazing. Great skiing, and incredible views.
I've delived lumber etc to the top so many times ..I've broken my ribs snowboarding at black mountain lift.......looking into Montezuma bowl and lake Dillon and Breck... from the top is a soulful moment no one around but me. It is my soul spot.
Snow is still light in mid November 2017 but I love this place any time... can't beat the bloody Mary's at 6th Alley... and the people are usually chill. However so far this year on 5 or 6 visits, the lift lines have been 15 -30 minutes. When they look longer than that, I have just relaxed at the bar. So far, busier than I have ever seen it.
Not bad, a little old and smelly but cheap and has a long season.
Spectacular locals mountain. No frills just thills
Pros: Very beautiful. Interesting runs and great value. Variety of runs, with lots of harder runs.
Cons: Wish Sprint worked and most lifts are not express. Only a few runs for beginners.
This is probably my favorite ski area anywhere in the US. I try to get here (from Iowa) at least once a year. I have a season pass elsewhere and I paid to ski at A-Basin.
Abasin was always great but the new Beavers area makes it a must visit for any skier... If you like climbing then the chutes off the east wall will present a real challenge and curl your toes. Try the bloody Mary's at the halfway restaurant....
I love snowboarding here! Both Lodge restaurants have great food as well.
You could come here and tell all your friends... but they probably already know! The terrain is not the best for beginners but is wicked fun for the more advanced and adventurous skier/rider.
Came in August 2018. Beautiful, small, and uncrowded resort with outstanding views. Limited hiking trails but you have many options to explore up high with the ski runs.
We ski ABasin every June. It has been a awesome family tradition. It is truly IN the mountains. The views are amazing. Very little green terrain so most of the people on the mountain are highly skilled making for a great experience.
Beginner hill for people who are new to skiing for only $25 per adult. This is the most inexpensive place to bring beginners or kids and not have to spend $100 plus per ticket to find out if people actually wanna ski or not. Easy parking lot, great location, and a kids play area or adult resting place on the third level.
Great mountain, but smaller than I typically like and the food is okay. It s wide open though, which I really like about it!
I love this mountain!! I have snowboarded here for years!!
New runs, new lifts, but Pali still rules, especially for showing off. Did the ticket with lunch, $90. In all honesty I love the expanded terrain.
Great independent ski area with just enough infrastructure to feel modern and safe
One of the most unique ski areas in the state. Lots of expert level terrain.
It is a known fact that the top of the Norway lift is the exact center of the known universe.
Nice place. I love that is close to town. The runs are all very difficult and steep here. Not the best place for beginners.
Way below par for a Colorado ski resort. We skied there for a weekend after a fresh snow fall. They had all the lifts open but everything was roped off so we were limited to just the trails. The terrain was terrible especially after a fresh snow fall. Lots of ice, rocks and sagebrush. You can tell they hadn't groomed the trails. It really chewed up my skis. Unnecessary especially after a fresh snow fall. Theres only one lift at the base which feeds all the green, blue and black trails. This creates a big bottle neck of people trying to get up to their respective runs.
The lodge is small and outdated with run down tables, chairs and deck. The deck was not cleared off so you could easily slip on it. Its also made out of an artificial decking which is REALLY slippery. I watched a couple people slip and lose their food. Theres no bathroom in the lodge which is hugely inconvenient. You have to go outside and downstairs to get to it. But thats actually a good thing. You can smell it from outside and inside it is just nasty. The toilets are small and you sit with your knees up high or feet straight out. The lodge does have Wi-fi (which I was actually surprised about) but it was really spotty.
I wouldnt have gone back if we hadnt bought tickets for the weekend in advance. So the next day we arrived at 9:35 (it opens at 8:30) and the parking lot attendants were directing cars to other lots. And the other lot attendants were directing traffic to the lots we just came from. Some of the lots were 2 miles away. They juggled everyone back and forth between lots until they posted signs that all lots are full. In the meantime they were still selling lift tickets to everyone dropping their families off. It was a HUGE traffic jam and there were lots of frustrated drivers dropping their families off with no place to park. People ended up parking on the side of the road until one of their shuttle drivers announced that they just called the sherriff and everyone on the side of the road is gettting towed. (They should have stopped selling tickets once they realized the parking predicament instead of threatening to tow you).
Finally at 11:45 (remember I arrived at 9:35) I was able to get into a parking lot after some finagling with an attendant. I asked the attendant if parking is usually like this and she said only on Saturdays and Sundays.
The parking, the lodge, the facilities and the slopes/trails are just not good enough for a Colorado ski resort.
Great place to visit. Definitely a place for an experience skiier. Has actual decent deals on food.
Awesome ski area with reasonable prices, both for tickets and concessions. Friendly, helpful staff and some of the best skiing terrain in the US. It is known as the "Legend" for a reason.
I'm sad that next season it will no longer be part of the epic pass.
Great ski area at high elevation and not too much frills. The skiing is great that's why we came right?
I'm no pro skier but this place definitely has some nice views and wide runs. The staff was friendly and their bloody Mary is fantastic!
Fantastic vibe and terrain. This is not your big corporate conglomerate resort!!
Perfect lifts, perfect snow, awesome lodge rest in. 5/5
