Incredibly numerous variety of runs. From a special area for the barely able, to tickling the fancy of the extreme expert. Many welcome detours alongside vast groomed runs, where you can dance with trees. There's a good selection of shops/services... best of all, the mid slope eatery featuring a phenomenal selection. If you appreciate good skiing, won't mind getting there and back, on slaloming narrow two lanes along steep mountainsides.

I have never skied in CO and heard about all the hype, so when my friends and I got together to hit up A-Basin we were so excited! Unfortunately we had no idea what we were in for. We got there about an hour after first chair and all the parking lots were full. We had already paid over $100 each for our non-refundable tickets so we were determined to get there anyway. We pulled into a drop-off spot and I got out to ask the parking attendant where we could park since everything was full and we didn't know the area. Her response: "I don't know, and I don't care." So instead I went to the customer service office and asked the lady in there (so much nicer than the parking attendant). She told me that we could drive into Keystone and park there and a shuttle would pick us up. However, on the way back to the car another person informed me that the Keystone parking lot was full too.

At this point we didn't know what to do so we just kept driving down the pass- then we saw about 100 cars parked on the shoulder on the road so we joined the line of cars and hitch-hiked up to the resort. While we were walking and waiting to hitch a ride, some of the shuttles passed us and I watched a shuttle driver go by while texting on his phone, and another driver got dangerously close to a family that was walking on the side of the road with small children. Definitely glad we walked instead of taking a shuttle driven by an unsafe driver.

When the gal who picked us up pulled into the drop-off lot, the parking attendant yelled at her that it was full. She told him that she was just dropping us off, to which he said "I don't care, the lot is full, find somewhere else" to which she said- "how else are they supposed to get to the resort if they can't be dropped off at the resort?" After this comment he just walked away and we FINALLY got to the lift! We were so excited to finally be on the slopes- and minus some other rude employees- we managed to have a decent day. Until we walked back to where we parked and found out that our car had been towed. We had no idea that you couldn't park there because we are not from the area, and there were literally 100 other cars there before us (most of which had also been towed). So then my friend volunteered to hitch-hike into Keystone to retrieve the car, and hours later we finally got it back. Had we been given better information and help on where to find parking, this whole ordeal could have been avoided. I understand that catering to guests at a resort on a Saturday can be stressful, but we felt so insulted by the lack of help and blunt rudeness that we will never be returning to A-Basin again.

Basically we paid hundreds of dollars to take a few runs and spend the rest of the day getting yelled at and hitch-hiking.

Great skiing. Ski patrol are not such jerks like at Keystone. This place was better when the parking lots were open to camping. Don't you just hate lawyers! They sue for any little incident causing the rest of us to have less access to cool places.

One of a kind ski area. A lot of unpredictably fun and difficult terrane. Good local vibe and beautiful views of continental divide. Downside is lines can be slow. Also some runs are treacherous on bad snow days even for experts. Not recommended for beginners, especially snowboarders because there are a few flat areas that will catch you.

Not a skier or boarder, but had a great time. The part of the group that did hit the slopes had a great time. The food and beer at the lodge were quite good. The giant pretzels are unbelievable. Couldn't ask for a better late spring day.

Sweet local place. Doesn't get quite as congested as Keystone or Breck or Copper. The runs are steeper, and they have fewer beginner runs than most places. There are lodges are the tops of the lifts and they have great hot chocolate and fries. Over all wonderful skiing experience. Most of the lifts have 3-4 people seating. Lots of tree skiing, steep areas, jumps, moguls and extreme skiing as well as free skiing (make your own path)

Was a first time learner and they did not have any kind of practice slope open. Had zero idea what I was doing and ended up knocking myself out cold for 5 mins straight on the "easy" slope. they had open. Made me never want to try again... Im now driving back to wyoming with 2 ribs out of place and a messed up shoulder and a slight concussion..... Thanks A Basin...

We were there May 30th.
Very unfriendly staff. Me and my friend had to change our boots size, and the girl at the desk was like "what's going on with you people?!" In a very rude way.
It was our first time there and no one in the rental place showed interest to help us.
Seemed like no one there understands that it's their job is to give service to people.
The mountain is pretty awesome and fun, but I would prefer skiing at loveland, which is a bit less extreme but the staff and service are much more friendly.

This is hands down my favorite mountain. It is a great place to ski that is somewhat close to Denver and has terrain for whatever you like to ski. I would imagine ABay is probably not the best place to go to learn though based on steepness compared to other mountains in the area.

Best Snowboarding I've ever had!! I work seasonally in Florida so vacation time is usually late April....which never is a Problem for A Basin!!! Whilst everyone else was closed, A Basin is not just the ONLY place to spring ski/board...but it is also by far, the BEST place to spring ski or board :) 10 stars!!! Except the 9.00$ tall boy coors..... should sell em cheaper and offer 12 ounce cans vs the 24 oz :P

I love Arapahoe because they named a trail after my grandpa as we have a ton of family history there. He was a ski instructor there. We rode the lift up and hiked down. A Basin is a locals ski area.

Arapahoe Basin skiing is next level great. I have been here several times and really enjoy the runs especially the hiking to the walls. The new area,The Beavers, is really fantastic skiing. I have taken my kids here to learn and the ski school is really top notch. My wife has done the adult lessons and wasn't impressed with her first instructor but was very happy with her second. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly whether on the phone or in person. I highly recommend A-Basin!

We ski all over: east, midwest, the west - and A-Basin is the best. It's not the biggest, theres a lot it doesn't have that larger resorts offer but there's just something about this place that's special, magical even. The people, the vibe, the mountain. Love grabbing lunch out on the Black Mountain Lodge deck & enjoying the East Wall view. If I were forced to stop skiing & had to pick one last place to go, Arapahoe Basin would be that place.

As a novice the runs were intimidating at first glance, but once I got out there I liked the character of place and quickly mastered a wide variety of ski slopes with spectacular views.
The staff were awesome and the prices were the best deal in the state.

The legend! This is one of my favorite ski hills in Colorado. Kind of has a local vibe but has definitely gotten busier than a few years ago. If you like to ski or board the steeps then I definitely recommend Arapahoe basin. Not too many beginner runs but enough to keep the beginners and your party occupied.

Simple, steep, stylish and oh so authentic skiing; the way it was before ski-in/ski-out condos and apres-ski hot tubs and spa treatments took over ski vacations. The Basin had truly epic terrain and is a true Colorado Legend.

This place is my favorite ski area around. The prices are fair and the quality of service is phenomenal! This isn't a ski area where you see a lot of beginners so you won't run into the lifts having to stop or go at a slower pace. Overall, great bar, food, people, and skiing!

One of a kind Colorado ski and board experience. Great mountain flow transitioning you from sweet spot after sweet spot. Stunning views of beautiful terrain. Great team of crew and staff.

Move along then Ian and good riddance. O and trust me we can afford keystone and breck. It's called the epic pass. I just choose a basin here and there to avoid the cluster f*** of ians (the sensitive guy posted below.) A basin is an awesome local mtn. You wont get reception here so if you get split up from your group. Congratulations it's just you and the mountain. Enjoy and don't worry the mtn isn't huge you're bound to run into them if you keep riding hard!!!! Also a great place to learn how to ski or ride

It was great for me and my friend as beginners. Their lessons seemed fairly useful, supportive, and encouraging. I hadn't taken them elsewhere so I can't compare though. Also their lift for beginners was very approachable and not intimidating
