Ed M Review of Arapahoe Basin Ski Area

If your name is Ken or Barbie than you won't really be the standard person on the hill. The Basin is somewhat unlike other ski areas I was going to use the word Resort but this really isn't a resort per se. There are no condos or housing subdivisions or grand shopping malls. It's really just a ski hill that has plenty of intermediate terrain but definitely leans a bit towards expert and pretty gnarly aggressive stuff if you're into that. When you visit in the 2018-2019 season you'll find some things have changed 1 lift removed, another lift replaced as well as another new chair. The general feel is very local not a lot of attitude just a hell of a place to ski all the way to usually about the first week of June. The Basin is served by a world-class, superbly managed Ski Patrol and Clinic, guest services as well as quite reasonably priced, decent food for a ski area. There is pretty nice little newly-expanded retail shop in case you need to pick up anything related to skiing. And obviously ski gear rental is full on. Day tickets and season passes are actually very very well priced compared to the Colorado Market. And know that this is a world-class ski area so the value is all there. Late season when everybody else is closed, the Basin can get a little bit crowded but it's still no big deal I don't think I've ever stood in line more than 10 minutes. Maybe one or two days out of the entire season you might be 15 minute lift lines at the base. Check out ABasin and follow the Alpine code, you'll have ayou'll good time.
