ARA - American Relocation Alliance Review

Do not hire this company. I wouldn't normally post anything but I'd like to prevent everyone from having the same experience as me. They cancelled my contract claiming that they didn't charge me enough. With the number of moving companies and options out there, these people aren't worth the risk. I was actually yelled at by a woman named Gina, who was beyond rude and lacked the most basic customer service... I have never had such an experience. Moving is stressful enough you certainly don't need someone to make the process harder. Not worth working with these folks.

Great experience with American Relocation. I've used In& Out twice and they were great both times! They arrived on time and quickly got to work disassemble, wrapped the furniture, also I needed some extra boxes which they had in the truck for an extra cost because I didn't have enough boxes, they pack my stuff very quickly and efficient, nothing broken. Transportation/moving, loading/unloading everything perfect, Great job and good team

We used American Relocation a few months ago for a temporary move until we bought our permanent residence. We were so happy with their service that we used them again once we bought our house. In both cases the moving teams were prompt, very polite and extremely fast. I would recommend them to anyone moving in their service areas.

I've used American Relocation twice in the last 3 years, both local moves. In both cases, I was an extremely satisfied customer. They arrived early, communicated well, asked questions about what went where, worked carefully and efficiently, and finished early. Both moving teams were extremely polite and professional. I even recommended them to a friend who also had positive experience, just as we expected. You never quite know what you'll get when hiring someone to handle your belongings. These guys treat it like their own, and for a very respectable price. Will happily use them again for my next relocation!

Overall, a decent experience. They charged extra for tape and I was surprised about that. We had taken steps to avoid any extra costs and I didn't think we would incur any. I called once they had brought the truck to my new house and were asking for payment and I asked if they could work with me on the extra charge of for tape which was $70. They said they couldn't. Honestly, I was just hoping they could discount like 20 or 30 bucks or something. So, I tried to just get over it.
But, then, toward the end, the main guy was really moody and kind of rude to us and I'm not really sure why. We gave them a decent tip at the end and he didn't even thank us for it.
They took off our storm door in order to move everything in which I totally understand having to do but it hasn't worked properly since. That's something I wouldn't worry about had they given me a break on the tape but since they feel the need to account for every little thing, so do I. There was other minor damage. But, again, I understand that some things are bound to happen. Just wish I had a better positive feeling about the whole thing when it was all said and done. Overall, the workers did a good job and they were careful. And their rate was fair.
Like I said, just left me with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth at the end. I'm not sure if the guys were just tired or if he was pissed that I called about the tape, or what.
Anyway, at the end of the day, I can't complain too much but I don't think I would use these guys again.

My representative was Michelle and when we first spoke about my move, she told me on the phone that there was an 18 day guarantee... doesn t mean it will take that long though! It may very well arrive sooner. . Come to find out, it s 18 BUSINESS days. It was a total bait and switch. They say something better than what it actually is on the phone to get you to use the service. She also told me, their drivers drive on weekends so why it s business days, doesn t make sense.

A couple days after my items were picked up, I received a call from another woman at their office asking what was the earliest day it could be delivered because they had a truck it could go out on that week. I told her that was great! My earliest delivery day was that Friday.

I called to check in on my items a week later and they had no idea what I was talking about. Michelle assured me that no one would have said that. So she insinuated that I was the liar.

They also put me on hold 14 times every time I called. They d put me on hold, then come back and go Hello, oh hi Peyton! Yeah, hold on one minute. They were disorganized and unprofessional.

Finally, I called 3 weeks after my items had been picked up. Michelle then told me it was an 18-21 business day guarantee. She backtracked and admitted she was wrong on this but good lord, get it together! She then just kept talking quickly and over me and just referring to the contract. I understand I should have read it more thoroughly. But that means, I shouldn t have trusted what they told me on the phone. She then hung up on me as soon as she said everything she wanted to to pass me off to the driver. I tried to speak but she literally just *CLICK* HUNG UP ON ME.

Do not use this service. They have insane amounts of competition. You ll pay a little more. But if I could go back, I d pay a couple hundred more to know I could trust the people moving my valuables.

Aside from the people in the office, one of the guys who came to pick up my things was very careless. At one point, he picked up a box I had written EXTREMELY FRAGILE with arrows all over the box showing which way was up. He lugged it off the ground and put it sideways to his chest. I pointed out to him that he was handling my fragile items carelessly.

So I m honestly assuming a bunch of my things will also arrive damaged.

YAY. So glad we paid $2,000 for this cr** service.

Chris and Vladimir were punctual. My belongings were delivered intact and place in an orderly fashion. Would recommend and use them again if necessary.

My crew of Alex and Vohid was excellent from start to finish. On time, professional handling of my belongings, easy to work with. They handled my furniture with care. I never saw them take a break. I would use them again in a heart beat.

I had a great experience with American Relocation. The movers did a great job and the office staff was extremely helpful and professional. I had a smaller move from MD to VA. Excellent value.

These guys showed up on time and proceeded to load all my all my furniture & boxes, as well as assorted items in a most efficient manor. They were very professional at all times and, and did a fantastic job loading & unloading, including breaking down & setting up my bed.

Andre and his crew did an exceptional job with moving me across town. They were on time and very efficient. Never giving up in spite of challenges with the weight of my furniture as well as the layout of my house. Displayed excellent professionalism and would highly recommend them to anyone that is moving.

Small office move. Everything went well except for the driver getting lost a few times on the way to the pick up location. Perhaps a better gps navigation is needed. They were fast and professional and everything else went smoothly.

Christian and Alec helped me to march through the Gates of Hell when our first mover cancelled on us. They moved large furniture from the fourth floor and were even professional when we arrived at the new building and the super shut down the elevator on us (it was late on a weekend). Excellent service, and I d recommend even to family!

They lied about prices and they broke tons of impothings we had. I was over charge for everything. My quote was $7,000 but paid $13,000 they told me I had to pay it all or they would not bring my stuff. I had only 2 days to come up with the extra money.

DO NOT USE THEM!!! You will regret it!

Me and my gf used their services about 2 months ago and we were extremely displeased with how this company conducted business with us. I contacted them inquiring about their rates and I was told that there was an one time deposit fee which we paid. Then it was explained to me by Mike that their services charged a flat rate fee by the hour. Based off of what Mike told me my gf and I were under the assumption that we would be paying no more than $300. After we paid the deposit Mike emailed some paperwork for my gf to fill out. Now comes move in day and the movers were 3 HOURS late. We were very understanding and patient during the entire process since the actual movers were very nice and professional. I received 3 phone calls from the companies front desk associate apologizing to us for the movers tardiness. The move took a total of 2 hours and we find out once their done that we were being charged over $600. We were confused and contacted the company the next day and received no response. After a couple of days we finally got a call back from Mike and he told us that the paperwork we signed explained why we were charged the amount. My gf explained to Mike that we were not told this from the beginning even after I specifically asked him if there were any other fees or charges which he replied no "Just the the hourly flat rate fee". Mike dismissed us and told us that we basically should of read the paperwork. I would not recommend American Relocators simply because they were not able to be honest with us from the beginning about their charges and fees.
