I visited the Aquarium of the Pacific with my wife and 2 daughters, 10 and 15. We all enjoyed ourselves.
There was something for each of us. We took our time and spent about 2.5 hours.
The combo tickets are the best deal, you can add whale watching or a tour of the Queen Mary to name a couple. If you are just going to the Aquarium there are discounts around. We used our Entertainment membership for buy one get one.
If you want to feed the birds some nectar be patient and they will eventually come and sit on your hand and lick it or off the cup. You don't need to spend the 4 bucks to go through and enjoy the cage but it is cool to feed them.

Great time for children and adults. Loved the new setion Pacific Vision Wing. We did the back the sceens tour and learned a great deal of how they raise some of the aquatic life and care for them. Thanks to all the dive dive volunteers. Looking forward to going back again.

Great family adventure day or even just an hour or 2 in the afternoon!!! Only thing I will say is if you're a family of more than 3 look into the season pass because it's about the same and you get more bang for your buck for sure!! I love all the exhibits, they definitely made sure to make their fishies and other animals feel like they are right at home and you can truly tell they take pride in taking care of these little creatures!!! From touching jellies to sting rays and little sharks there are so many hands on things to do here it's a great learning experience!!

I only gave a three stars because when I went there really wasn't much to do or see. There is a few areas to see some fishes, a very nice parakeet area where you can feed them for an extra $4 bucks, a few areas where you can pet the sting rays, sharks, a more fishes. There is a enclosement for the seals which is pretty cool bit really thats about it for $12 buck which isn't terrible. But Covid has everything else closed I guess. Beautiful area outside the aquarium though.

Took my son here for his 2nd birthday and he loved it. The were many attractions and the employees were very helpful and courteous. The crowd control was also very organized and that's saying a lot considering the fact that we went on the weekend too when there are usually a lot of people visiting. The gift store had a pretty good selection of merchandise and some items were priced very low so it was nice eve able to bring a lot of small souvenirs home. My parking was also validated so that was a nice bonus as well. This is definitely a great place from for children of all ages and for adults as well. Absolutely recommend this location

I am very unhappy with our visit. The staff was not overly friendly. The item we purchased was broken when we pulled it out of the box. They scanned our parking ticket so we wouldn t have to pay the parking fee but that didn t even go through. The whole thing seemed like they were trying to suck money out of us.

I love this place. Been a member forever!! Can't beat the price! Super fun for kids & adults. Please remember this is an educational facility, do NOT expect a dolphin show!!! They have otters! There are touch tanks where you can gently touch sharks, rays, horseshoe crabs, sea slugs and much more!! Become a member today & visit all year long!! Best place in Long Beach

A really nice place for animal lovers. With touch and learn aquarium, where you can touch all the seaweed, corals and starfish. Was fascinated by jellyfish tanks and a giant whale hanging off the seeling. Sea otters were the cutest thing ever :) easy parking, plenty of space, has a restaurant and a gift shop.

I love this place. They have redone the exterior and it looks attractive. It must be hard to maintain the clear water inside the tanks but they did a good job. The new 4D theater is cool but it can use a good documentary show. I would be so worth the money!!

Had a fun time there, lots of cool stuff to see and touch. Plenty of educational opportunities with the many staff and volunteers. It is a bit pricey to get in but I think if you buy a season pass, you basically cover the cost if you go twice within the year.

Kids my wife and I loved it here. We have been to scripps aquarium and felt this was worth the drive as it was larger and seemed to have more to offer.

Fyi: the frogs are really hard to find in their tanks, people assured us they were there though. My young ones never saw a frog and moved on doubting frogs were real.

Been an annual pass holder for years (it's tax deductible!). My two children love to see the different exhibits and the different touch pools. Worth the money and always enjoy our weekend visits here.

I love this place. Growing up in California it was one of the best places i can remember. I took my wife here a few months ago and she loved it. I highly recommend taking the family there.

This place never gets old especially with the new expansion area that houses a visionary educational theatre that challenges us all to work together to protect our environment. The visuals are top notch. The aquarium as always has something for everyone - young and old alike and it s fascinating to see many kids having a blast on summer field trip. They have several food options both indoors and outdoors but veranda seating on the second floor is best as it gives you a scenic harbor view from a good vantage point.

So much to see and do here. It's absolutely fantastic for little kids. Great location, although most of the closest restaurants are overpriced. The only reason why the aquarium itself isn't one of my favorite all-time attractions for my 2 year old daughter is having been to a similar one in Taiwan that was a bit bigger and was better decorated.

It's a great place for the kids and the young at heart. Definitely invested in annual pass...it's worth coming here on a regular basis. We enjoyed the outdoor touch pools with sharks and manta rays as well as the starfish and sea urchins pool inside. There's lots to experience and learn here.

Educational and fun. Could have spent s little more time here but the kids aren't quite to the place where they realize how important it is to learn how we can save our water ways. We purchased the Go LA pass and put this do in the itinerary.

This is a great aquarium that is focused on public education. The exhibits and staff here are excellent. There are many activities for younger children to get them involved in learning about the marine environment, and they also offer options to bring students on a school field trip. There are several exhibits which allow you to touch some of the creatures that live there and bring the experience to life. There are also lectures and movies that are hosted from time to time. If you are an adult looking for something to do, check out their Night Dives (which feature music and food trucks). They also have specials on tickets fairly regularly, so check that out if you are looking for some inexpensive fun and education.

Great day trip out for all ages.

Learn all about the sea life of the Pacific Ocean at this large aquarium. Long Beach, California s Aquarium of the Pacific is one of the largest aquariums in the United States, and without question the nicest in Los Angeles County. Situated on the California coast, it also makes sense that Aquarium of the Pacific focuses on the Pacific Ocean, and three areas of that ocean: the Baja region familiar to Southern Californians, and northern Pacific, and tropical Pacific. This aquarium is huge, and is home to more than 11,000 sea creatures including 150 sharks,

The largest exhibit at Aquarium of the Pacific is the 350,000-gallon Tropical Reef Exhibit, which is home to over 1,000 animals, including sharks. This exhibit was beautiful, and one of the thing I appreciated about it (and other areas of Aquarium of the Pacific) was that it was really engaging and immersed visitors right in experience

During peak periods, the aquarium gets very busy, so come early. Parking is easy across the street in a dedicated parking garage. Be sure to remember to get your parking ticket validated for a lower parking rate. Also walk around the beautiful Long Beach waterfront. A view of the Queen Mary can be seen as well as several shops and restaurants. To truly enjoy the location, budget a day or at least entire afternoon. Look for late closing hours during peak holiday weeks.

You can follow K15 Adventures on Instagram and Facebook. See where we are headed next.
Typically, remote destinations where the journey of Fishing, Kayak Fishing, Hunting, Camping is the principal goal with, some shenanigans thrown in.

Bought tickets for the aquarium and the whale watching trip. It took about 15 minutes to go through the outside exhibits. Not too exciting. The whale watching trip was about 2.5 hours . Again not too exciting. Saw nothing out there. Just the seals we stopped to look at. Never had been on a boat out at sea so it was a new experience. Would I go again? Not likely unless the prices were lower.. paid over $100 for 2 people and the day was not worth it .

Took my daughter and she loved it. Its under some construction right now. But most is still open. I approve of the remodel and what it's supposed to look like when done. Its still a great place to take kids, or to go get great pics of fish and crabs throwing gang signs or about to drop a sick album. Come on, it's still long beach, but it's not racist. Trust me, some of my best friends are white ( crab meat is white.......never mind).
Any ways, the place is great and I can't wait for them to be done updating the building. If you are from out of town and want to see some sea life up close, that's not tormented killer whales. I suggest spending time here at the aquarium of the Pacific, plus if you have kids they will love it.

One side note, the cafe and restraunt are good/ok quality. A bit pricey though for what is offered. So plan to eat before or right after, just a heads up. Plus there's tons of great places all over the long beach down town area. So do yourself a favor and try one of them out. Its hard to make a bad choise in that area with those options.

Actual aquarium great sea lions, otters, different types of sharks and rays to view and pet. Holidays and weekends can be exceptionally busy. 3 stars due to parking. Lost parking ticket and had to pay full price $24 for parking garage! (Even though previously paid for pre paid parking ticket)

Everything was beautiful and well kept. People who work at the Aquarium are more than happy to help you if you have questions. We went on a monday so it was pretty slow but boy did the place have a ton of kids. Not the aquariums fault but made it hard to enjoy my view with kids shoving me out the way and screaming by your side. Would still go again though!

Smaller, less expensive, and much less crowded than Sea World, but still a nice aquarium. If you want to see whales, go on a whale watching tour. None here. We enjoyed the fish exhibits and the sea lions, seals, and sea otter shows.

Pretty nice aquarium but Ive been to much better ones. Its more like indoor aquarium, there is not much to see outside. I dont know what I expected but I missed some bigger fish or doplhins in there. We were done with whole aquarium in such a short time. I loved the open space with parrots where you can feed them and they sit all over you. If you are planning to eat there its not a problem, there is variety of food for a decent price. Service is little bit too slow. Still pretty nice aquarium worth a visit.
