Won a set of passes and they gave us our passes quickly. Went in and in 5 minutes our family was off looking at all the aquatic animals. The birds were still very hungry and lapped up all of the nectar. There was plenty of learning opportunities. I would say more information is needed for the kids other than names and pictures of fish.
It's always fun to come here and they do a ton of community nights. Sometimes you dont get access to everything like the touch tank or the birds but it's still worth checking out at any time of the day.
I went with my boyfriend and his grandma, it was so fun and i was mesmerized, i loved it All the animals were very colorful. The touch exhibits were an expirance unlike any other and i will come back.
Nice place for themed parties. On a regular visit, the animal exhibits are wonderful for kids and those who love animals. I especially like the ray and seahorse exhibits.
Was okay to visit with kids. They opened the outdoor exhibits NOT indoors. It would definitely worth to visit if they open indoors. It took less than 2 hours to see all the outdoor exhibits. Parking needs to be paid separately. There are lots of sanitizers and washing stations, but social distance is not well kept by people.
Great deal for staff appreciation..only $7 and you could get 4 tickets for $10 each..but the traffic was horrible and they had a entrance to the parking structure closed off..took 45 minutes to go 2 miles. Ridiculous
It's a good price place for kids and have a lot of sealife. It's not a huge place so can cover in half a day and can enjoy the neighboring area which is have a lots of things to do. Cost is a little high if don't have coupon. We saved $10 per person using coupon. Overall a good daytrip especially when you have kids.
Absolutely amazing. Friendly staff. They have shows. Lots of Aquariums. U can pet sting rays and fish. There is a cafe. Elevators are there in case you can't do stairs. The building is getting a face lift right now. I got awesome pics of sea life!
This is an umissable place and my wife and I loved the touchpools, the otters, and the jellyfish. Everything really. So why am I giving only 3? Branding. Everything is plastered with advertising, the worst one being BP Oil. Yeah, the company responsible for the LARGEST OILSPILL IN THE ATLANTIC. You can't advocate for cleaner oceans and climate change while shaking hands with petroleum giants who profit from it.
I came here for an event where it let us enjoy the venue after hours with live music and cocktails! It was definitely a sight to behold! The space was filled nicely with Dj's and live music all around as well as bars set up in little corners of the aquarium. I would love to come back during the summer or springtime if they hold this event again!
Had a fun time with our families at the aquarium! The animal touching areas are entertaining for everyone of all ages. The educational topics span local and global issues. Glad I finally made it.
Pretty crowded, better for the kids than the adult. Lots of side shows to keep them entertained when the fish aren't enough. Beware the Lorikeets landing on you, it can definitely be a surprise.
I visit here with my family, was a good visit. However, it was hard to see some of the animals. There were a lot of people who were just standing in front of the exhibits, so it made it very hard to see the animals. Also the parking garage elevators are very small and we had to wait in line for them, because we had a stroller.
It feels a bit overwhelming there currently, but I think mainly due to the construction going on. The staff is friendly and attentive. Buy the pass if you live local, as with all major attractions it will save you as long as you go TWICE
This is a great place to visit with children, the new planetarium play a great documental about renewal energy and my children love to touch the rays. Beautiful place near the marina and the mall
This place is great. Incredibly busy, but great. We purchased an LA GO card, and the aquarium was one of the attractions. we had been here before a bunch of years ago, but there was enough going on that it was an all new experience. All I will say about the crowds is that we did visit over the Christmas holidays, and like you will see in my other reviews, everything was crazy busy. But, the crowds were no where near as pushy as some of the other places. Anyway, All crowds aside the Aquarium is great. all of the staff that we interacted with all seemed to enjoy what they were doing, and were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. There are a lot of things to look at and touch, There are several large aquarium viewing areas where you can just watch the animals for hours if you like. There are countless numbers of different types of fish, several different sharks and rays (yes, some you can pet if you like, just be gentle) Penguins, seal, sea lions, sea otters, and the list goes on. We quite enjoyed the touch tanks, and one of my kids preferred staying and petting the rays over watching the sea lion show. (there are lots of places to wash up after touching the animals, so don't worry about that part.) What would I recommend? We did go 1st thing in the morning. I think this was a smart thing to do, because as we were leaving there was quite a long line up to get in. I see there are a lot of reviews talking about school children, we were there over the Christmas break, so this was not an issue, but I think something to keep in mind. We spent about 3 hours here, and as it was busy that was enough with the crowds. If you go when it is less busy, you will be able to go through faster, but you will have a lot more time (and space) to just sit and enjoy the animals. Don't forget to get your parking validated. Easiest way is either when you buy your tickets, or there is a scanner beside the door on your way out. Saves you standing in another line.
Trying to find parking in the parking garage is semi frustrating because it's so packed inside. Also try to go when there aren't as many school field trips going on. Less feild trips= less headache.
Listen I ve been in this aquarium at ny and it was way filled with more animals as I should say this place was pretty decent but again by was better without a doubt
Been here a couple times, including for a behind the scenes feeding, which was amazing. The pinniped show is great and always fun to feed the lorikeets.
I would of loved to give it more stars but I'm sorry this place has gone down went today and i guess no one notice the dead shark i tried taking a picture but it didn't come out clear
Great place to visit. As of my most recent visit on 9/26/2020 they were only allowing visitors to see the outside exhibits. The inside building was off limits except for restroom.
I have visited many aquariums in different corner of the world but was very disappointed. There is not much to see unless it is your first visit in an aquarium.
The girls absolutely loved this aquarium. Their favorite part was the jellyfish! It takes a good couple of hours to walk completely through and enjoy the aquarium. It is also located right next to the beach so you can enjoy the beach while you were there as well. It's just a short walking distance away. There's lots of food and entertainment options close by. Take time and walk around the pier, you will not be disappointed.
Had a great time with the family here. Very informative and educational shows as well as entertaining. Our 2 yr old couldn't stop saying "wow" he was so amazed with everything! Only bummer was the sea lion display will not be open till 2017.
