This Aquarium is much smaller compared, for example, with Monterey Bay. Which can be a plus because you don't get too overwhelmed, but may be a minus if you have marine biology enthusiasts with you. Another negative, it gets very crowded, even on a work day. My 5 y.o. daughter mostly liked tropical fish exhibit (counting all the Nemos and Dorises) and outside area where you can touch rays. There was also a LA watershed exhibit, so she and her friend liked to press the button and "cause" rain. It was a hot day and it felt like fun thing to do. Girls also paid attention to a lot of mesmerizing jellyfish and a huge tank with a fish feeding diver.

The aquarium is a fun place to see birds and tons of different aquatic animals. Lots of jellyfish!! The tunnels are great hangout spots to see different fish, sharks, turtles and rays. If you have kids get all the stamps in the map for a free prize at the info center.

This was a trip I will never forget! I was taken on the privately guided Shark Experience Tour during the weekend before Christmas in 2019. My guide was friendly, answered a myriad of my questions patiently and I could tell by his enthusiasm he loved working there. During my tour I was allowed to feed two species of sharks during a live demonstration, something I have had on my bucket list since the 1st grade. We then toured behind the scenes areas exploring where the divers would prepare for shows, even where they kept quarantined baby fish before introducing them to the ecosystem in the reef tank. I loved learning about the multiple processes the Aquarium has put into place to ensure the safety and quality of life for all their animals is of the highest caliber.
I could go on for ages but for now this will do. Thank you for my one of a kind experience, Aquarium of the Pacific. I intend to return and take the same tour again!

$30 for admission and AotP just doesn't warrant that price. The kids will have a good enough time but this place offers little for parents/adults. Expect your trip here to last around 1 1/2 hrs to see everything.

Aquarium of Pacific is one of the most hidden treasure and gems in Southern California Long Beach. At this place which is completely family-oriented you experience a connection with the oceans which we hardly ever experience and we can see that if you don't take steps this beautiful part of our world which our life is connected to can completely be destroyed primarily by us if you don't take action. my most favorite part of this aquarium is there tropical fish section I can literally spend three hours just watching the aquarium and relaxing meditation. you can bring your own food to the place and you can enjoy an outdoor seating and you can be with your family touch the coral sharks and other animals at some ponds. This is a must see if you love oceans in southern California

I came here on a holiday so I know it was more crowded than usual, I still managed to walk all the way around as this is a place that you can see it all in one day. Plenty of tanks and information. The shows are okay and overall the experience was fine. They have a lot of technology integrated into their info. but with that said I don't see myself coming back.

Aquarium is absolutely huge, lots of kids running around, but there's lots of info on the animals, they had all the workers dressed up for Halloween. Very fun place for couples and family.

We stopped better for our last day in California. We loved all of the interactive exhibits. The kids got to have birds land on them, touch rays and sharks, and learn about sea lions, seals, and otters in fun and exciting ways.

You can spend about three hours here and go through all the exhibits, but it's really hard with all the field trips they host there. With too many kids, it can really damper a date or educational experience. Choose a later time on the week days, if you want to avoid too many children. It can be bothersome with three different schools full of elementary school students at the same time.

In terms of what they have as exhibits, everything is on their website.

This is one of the best aquariums I have ever been to! The best part was able to really get up close and touch some of the animals. We got to touch a horseshoe crab, jellyfish, and a lot more. There was also a little section where we could watch a vet working on an animal and this was an amazing learning experience for my son. This was worth every penny of the admission price! I can't wait to go back!

We had such a great time visiting the aquarium. The staff was super friendly and so patient with kids. Petting the sting ray was sooo much fun. We spent 3 hours and the kids loved every minute of it. The movie is also worth taking time to watch. Kids LOVED this place;). We loved all the interactive petting and touching of various things.

I love this Aquarium. The exhibits are so beautiful. Took my daughter for the first time this weekend. She loved the Clown fish and Blue Tang exhibit . We lost her jacket during the visit and the staff had it safely tucked away in lost-and-found. I make a stop here every time I am in town.

Lots of friendly staff to answer questions. This is a reflexing place to wonder around or just sit for a while to watch underwater sealife along with feeding the Lorikeets. During the week is the best time if you can make it. They have a large gift shop too.

We live pretty near the aquarium, and I kept saying I needed to actually check it out sometime. Finally did, last weekend. I wasn't expecting that much - I'd heard it was pretty small, and I grew up visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is quite famous, not to mention huge. So my expectations were pretty low.

I will say: it definitely exceeded my expectations. Yes, it is definitely not nearly as large as the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and yes, it was just as overrun with kids on Saturday afternoon as I'd heard it might be, but I still had a lot of fun. Their touching tanks beats the pants off the touch tanks I grew up with, you got a much better view of the mammals, and to be honest, it wasn't *that* small - they fit a lot of tanks into the available space.

Just makes me sad that tourists go to the aquarium and see all the crappy chain restaurants around it, and must get the impression that downtown Long Beach is nothing but crappy chain restaurants. I feel like camping outside the aquarium with a sign saying "Tourists! Do you want food that's actually interesting? Walk a couple blocks up Pine to the North!"

Its a nice experience and great to bring kids along but show seating is a little small for the Seal shows but the cafes serve good food for the price it deserves, a little overpriced for tickets, but you can get into the theatre show for free which it really should be because the only think 4D about it is unnecessary use of smoke which smells like otters (don't go into the theatre). Otherwise the rest of the shows and animal exhibits were fun and very enjoyable. If you buy Nectar for the Birds it'll be better, trust me.

This is such a cool aquarium - state of the art and the admission is an absolute steal - especially if you buy it as a combo-ticket with admission to the Natural History museum. The animals and aquariums are stunning and the place is extremely kid-friendly. Most families should be able to get through it in about 3 hours or less.
With lots of food options just outside the aquarium, it is easy to see the fish and grab a bite to eat on your way out!

Get yourself (and your kids if you got them) cultured by going to this aquarium and learn about not just sea animals, but also how to be more environmentally conscious. Be sure to check out the pacific vision, in which you learn the vast things people out there are doing to helping the planet, and potential future works (at least this was when I went). Lots of great visuals throughout the aquarium, indoors and out.

You also get to touch jellyfish and other animals so yeah that's pretty cool.
