This aquarium is always a fun time. Although they were doing construction, I still enjoyed the exhibits and such. I only wish it was bigger. You only need about two hours to see it.
Lots of interactive things to do like feeding birds nectar, gently touching sharks and rays, and touch-tank for starfish and anemonies. I loved the underwater exhibits as well. Coming basically face to face with otters and penguins was amazing. The staff were very helpful, informative, and friendly. Definitely found it inspiring and will work more diligently to protect the environment.
Overpriced. It was raining and a majority of it has closed signs on it. We werent offered any kind of price reduction. We also felt a lot of the enclosures were too small for the animals. Especially the octopus'.
I've been wanting to go for awhile but always been busy trying to just stay on top of bills and life in general. When I finally went I got to feel like a kid again! They have a bar next to their Avery. I didn't plan to have a drink nor do I condone getting drunk there but it was nice having "a" drink while walking thru the Avery.
Awesome experience with the family. We love coming here and enjoying the animals and exploring their world. Pretty location with great prices. I love how they protect and serve the animals. Lots to learn and do. Hands on experience. Make sure to look at website for specific events and daily schedule
My son enjoyed his 1st visit yesterday! He loved watching all the different fishes swimming and loved seeing all the other little kiddos visiting
I loved how well staffed they were and clean. Can't wait to visit again
Have been a member since they opened. This place never disappoints and is great for the whole family. Most importantly, they try to rehabilitate sick sea animals and will provide a home for those they can't.
The Aquarium is awesome. They fixed up really well. The outside look is much improved. It's a whole lot bigger than I remember it being before the upgrades. There are a bunch of exhibits upstairs and downstairs. They now have a big shark lagoon where you can touch all kinds of ray's and sharks. There's an outside bird sanctuary where you can buy a little containers of food and the birds will land on your hand/arm to eat out of it. There are a few theaters that have shows playing. Mascots come out for photo opportunities. Divers show up and speak to the crowd whole in the main tank by the entrance. There are a lot of snack options and the cafe on site is decent. It's a cool place to visit and will easily keep you entertained for 5-6 hours.
Ton more things to see than I thought. Food took forever to get but was tasty. Overall great experience for my little guy.
Great Aquarium! Lots to see and enjoy learning. I enjoyed watching the muddskippers.
Bad sushi place, got escorted off the premise when I got sick and tired of the staff and tried to self serve.
Ask for a cupon 1 day in advance. Great place for everybody.Family Plan /Kids Fun
Lots of variety of fish, and not to big. Parking structure could be updated, but the aquarium itself is always fun to go to.
Not the best for super little guys. Also the food is not very healthy.
I love aquariums and this one is world class. It's pricey, but worth it. Especially if you can go during less-crowded hours.
Amazing aquarium and super fun. There was tons of interactive touch tanks and cool exhibits. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. Kids running everywhere and people squeezed in. My only complaint was the amount of people. The animals looked healthy and happy and the employees where super nice. One of the best aquariums I've ever been to.
Small place, easy to walk. Fun fodmr everyone in the family
Great aquarium with knowledgeable docents. We really enjoyed the behind the scenes tour.
Nice aquarium. Great exhibits. Nice place for date night or with the family.
Fantastic aquarium and very energetic and informative staff!
Great place to visit with family and kids. A lot iff things to learns from this place. Fun playing with the fish.
You're never too old to go to the aquarium, and this one has great exhibits and friendly guest service. You can enjoy watching the trainers work with the animals and wander around viewing different tanks of sea creatures.
The new Pacific Visions wing is AMAZING!! Have to go in the theater and see the short film in their new GIANT screen!
Wonderful aquarium with plenty to enjoy outdoors due to covid. The bird aviary and the sharks were a huge hit for the whole family.
Great for kids, would like more options for food inside
My kids love it but my husband and I both were disappointed. It took us 30 mins to drive there and less to walk through it. I wouldn't recommend.
Really nice place to visit but wasn t too much to see. I lived in the LA county for a long time and now that I have a kid I thought he d enjoy it but it s rather small. Everything is overpriced ex. Food, entry tickets, & souvenirs.
This place is awesome. I touch and saw a lot of animals. It also has lots of toys, hats / shirts , keychains , and more.
Colorful people and animals. I've been there twice and I look forward to my next trip.
Every time we go there it's a blast. A bit crowded on holidays and when schools are off, but way better than waiting for a roller-coaster. Plenty of fun activities for the little ones and adult beverages too. Options for food a major plus....but a bit on the high side. Make it a day or two in the area with all the sites to see in such a short distance. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is across the street, a must if you haven't been.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed my visit. My expectations were low because outside things look quite shoddy. Long Beach itself is quite run down. But they have a very solid collection and the fish are on display well, especially the jellyfish and those from California coast. I was told the octopus stays hidden most of the time, but when I was there he was active and magical.
Tips I can give, get there when it opens so you can have elbow room to move around the aquarium freely as towards 11-noon it gets really packed. I don't recommend buying nectar for the bird sanctuary as the birds in there are super aggressive in the morning as they are hungry. I got instructed to cover the nectar with my hand if you want the birds to go away but the birds will bite your hand for doing that. If you want to traumatize your kids, go ahead and buy some nectar. Other than that, this place is cool.
I've been to the Shedd Aquarium, in Chicago, and that's 10x bigger and more fun than this aquarium. This aquarium is very small and most of the exhibits I can see basically anywhere. 30 dollars per person is way too much for such a small aquarium. I was disappointed when I realized that I was done with the whole aquarium in 2 hours.
I loved taking my 4-year-old here. There's so much to see that we didn't get to see everything. Look at their website for special/discounted events.
Great aquarium! Lots to see and do. The seal show is well worth seeing, really impressive animals & trainers
It was okay. Was hoping for more bigger fish and sharks.
We went when is was cold. Lucky us we were the last to see the killer whales. Of course riding down the snow was the children fav part. Very large with a lot of activities. The live shows were the best.
Beautiful sea creatures with snack shops inside of it. Near other restaurants.
I saw all the mamals in the water at the aquarium at the Pacific.
The aquarium provides a spread of habitats around the Pacific. With that said, the main focus is that found along the western coast of the U.S. There is a section for tropical plants and creatures, but when viewed closely many of the corals/sponges are fake. I have been going here since it opened as a kid, and i must admit, each time I go I do appreciate something new, however with that said I still feel the aquarium is a little underwhelming for what you pay for admission.
So much to do in and around the aquarium but check for events in long beach, like the grand prix, which can make parking a nighmare. Proximity to harbor means boat tours and dinner cruises are a great option.
I really enjoy this place! I remember when it opened and it still makes my heart beat after so many years.
Best place to bring your kids (in my case, my nieces and nephews) and relatives who likes looking at fishes and sharks.
Awesome aquarium provides free wifi to all visitors so let's snap!!
It was crowded the day I went with my family but I loved it so much
Cute little place, but you can see everything in about an hour or two. Maybe more of you try to stretch seeing some shows but it's small, good for children they have some touching stations for the various creatures my daughter's loved the jellyfish
This place is huge. You can literally spend all day here if you don t get to tired from walking! Clean place, friendly and knowledgeable staff to ask questions. Thank you
Wonderful. Great for the whole family. Highlight of our SoCal trip.
Under construction but still a great experience! Should be done by next year. Love the hands on exhibits they are davao for kids.
It was nice, fun that the kids were able to touch the animals, but it was just too small.
Fun Fun Fun! We have a family membership and it has been totally worth it! Cafe Scuba has many delicious options. Prices at the gift shop are reasonable. Parking packages are available for members and even if you stay for 2 hours, it's still a deal. The facility has always been spotless and I'm excited for the addition they are currently doing.
I expected it to be larger, but no major complaints. This would be a really good place to take kids, especially when their movies are free. There's a lot of touch pools (rays, sharks, jellyfish), and the exhibits are interesting.
They also appear to have a regularly-scheduled dive where a staff member goes into a two-story tall tank and answers kids questions, which is something that I haven't really seen at the Aquarium by me.
Great place for the family and little ones, a lot of activities and hands on learning.
We got a pass this year and have enjoyed going with my 2 year old. He loves the fish! The aquarium is the best deal as a year pasd. The one time passes are rather expensive.
I love it here! Great for kids and adults and so many interactive stations
It's a really nice place and exhibits are cool but it's to small and gets really crowded on the weekends so we really couldn't appreciate the beauty of this place.
My grandson loves this place, although it is limited to viewing outdoors.
It was rainy, and the ill mannered kids running wild and screaming detracted from the wonderful exhibits. The aquarium itself is great!
Still a great experience during the times we're living in today. Still paying full price even though it's outdoor exhibit only.
Very nice place to bring the kids! The kids loved it, they especially liked the fact that in some areas they were able to touch the fish. Parking is not that bad when you come early. Will be coming back!!
Really enjoy walking and observing the animals. Very interactive lately with remodel.
Awesome!! Everyone should experience n support the local aquariums... knowledge is power!!
Love how they always have something new and the expansion is going to be even better never a dull moment
My little boys love this place. The family membership pass is a steal of a deal. There are lots of really nice exhibits. Lots of things for the kids to touch and explore. it is kept very clean... You always see people walking around sweeping up any debris. Probably the best aquarium I have ever been to.
This is a gorgeous aquarium, with a ton of fish and sea creatures to see. Gorgeous tanks and interactive exhibits that will fascinate all ages. Despite it's popularity, the aquarium never seems too busy. Prices are a tad high, but you never feel like you didn't get your money's worth. The sharks and jelly fish are incredible. Take a day with the kids and go visit.
Great place to take kids in order to learn about the oceans and the animals that inhabit it.
Lots of fun for the kids, but the movies wew not what we expected. The sting ray pool and the starfish/anenome tanks were the most fun for my group.
Good amount of fish and aquatic animals.Good place to go hangout and take the kids.
I loved the Aquarium of the Pacific because of all of the fishes and they give booklets and they're are spots on the booklet that you can stamp
