Exhibits are very well done and they usually offer a decreased price admission in the evening for the last 2 hours that is open and that is plenty of time to be able to see all of the exhibits and enjoy oneself at a more reasonable price.

It's a pleasent place to visit and to learn about ocean life. Of course it does get pricey for certain things. And it does get crowded. Though on days that are empty, it becomes even more enjoyable.

A great place to visit with the family; they are constantly expanding. Membership is certainly worth the cost. My daughter asks to visit at least once per week. The shows are nice and the food is good enough for a lunch.

Astonishing! This is an amazing place to go with the family. It's sparks curiosity and wonder about the oceanic environment. There are many things to learn about. The exhibits are impressive and beautiful. It is a truly awe inspiring place for people who love learning about animals and the ocean. The best part is the many interactive touch tanks that are available. Its a great place to take your kids to learn plenty of good things about the ocean and the world around them. However the food court could use some more options. The gift shop has plenty of great things to get as a solvenier.

This place would have been better for me if it were less jammed packed with ppl. We went in a Saturday afternoon and of course they were stuffing the place like how the evil witch was stuffing Hansel and Gretel! Pretty hard to see the exhibits. Also me and My Gf were bummed out we didnt get to go to the touch tank because all the lil boogery kids were hogging it :(

Maybe ill go on a weekday so there can be less annoying kids.

Anyways still a great visit! Find out about discounts online!

Amazing aquarium - extremely well kept with a lot of care put into each exhibit. Strongly recommend making a stop if you have the chance - take a behind the scenes tour, it's cheap and worth it!

Lots of fun activities for kids, more touch tank opportunities than anywhere I've seen. Passionate and friendly staff. Proud to be a member of this aquarium working to preserve the Pacific!

I wish I lived closer, I would come here all the time! I love that they are a non-profit and genuinely care about their aquatic critters. I took the behind the scenes tore and I highly recommend it for kids or people who want to get an insiders look at what the staff does for these awesome animals.

Neat place. Was here once years ago for a shark exhibit. Kids loved it. So we came back. It's smaller than I remembered. There are a couple big tanks (and one with a diver talking to kids through a microphone under water - that was cool), but most are the typical tanks you'll find in any aquarium. My kids really liked the outdoor section. It has some neat areas where you can see bigger fish/sharks as well as touch and enjoy other sea life. Neat trout exhibit, too. However, it was quite expensive (much more so than Scripps in La Jolla, or other SoCal aquariums. It was more in line with Monterey Bay aquarium). While this was fun, it didn't capture the attention for as long as others and it was more expensive than others, resulting in a loss of two stars.

Our family has pass to aquarium. We live about an hour away and it's so worth the drive. Staff is really friendly and knowledgable. We have gone about 10 times and my littles still love this place!

They didn't email when the membership extension was for the pandemic. We tried to go today only to be told that it was our fault for not getting an email they should've sent. The extension ended on August 23rd, but how were we to know? Seems really shady.

I would say it was geared more towards little children. There was not as much things that I hoped to see and it was not as interesting as other aquariums I went to up in northern California.

Brings me back memories to when I came there. They've added new sections and theaters than when I was here last. My favorite thing is petting the rays. I got my mom to touch them. Big win for me.

I think it's a much smaller aquarium than others like for example the aquarium in Baltimore, MD. And we went at a very popular time. Very crowded and loud. It unfortunately drowned out the entire experience. But the staff were all very nice and helpful. All of them had a wealth of knowledge to share.

Such a fun place to bring the fam! Fun shows and multiple "touch tanks!" My little kiddos loved touching the sharks! Many workers and volunteers everywhere to ensure your trip to the aquarium is educational! Great way for your children to learn about sealife and escape the craziness of southern California.

During these pandemic days, it's nice to have somewhere to take the kids. Access to the aquarium is somewhat limited (no access to inside the building), but it's something. The effort by staff to disinfect and keep the place safe is definitely appreciated.

It was fun and I loved the touch pool even though I didn't get to touch the shark. I was expecting more creatures like giant sharks, dolphins, octopus, etc. I guess I was a little silly for expecting those things. But it was disappointing.

It is perfect for a kids or a date out. The annual pass pays for itself after a couple of visits. It is small enough that you can go often and spend an hour or two on each visit, but large enough to keep things interesting.

I must have place in rotation for kids.

In town for a work conference, got to tour this aquarium as part of it and wow, just wow! I ran around like a small child, squealing and oohing and yapping my face off about the awesome exhibits to anyone who would listen. It truly brought out the kid in me. I touched all the things, and I highly recommend you do too. (I unofficially declared the largest horseshoe crab to be named Mona while petting her, I think she liked the name.) If you're near Long Beach, this is a must.

A wonderful way to spend the day. There is so much to see! And things that I'd never seen/done at an Aquarium before, like the jellyfish touch-tank! A genuine, honest to goodness great experience.

Great aquarium for kids under 12. I usually stay about 2hrs before my kids start getting restless, but then I'm local so I can come back. The touch pools are great, to be able to contact sea stars, sharks, rays, pretty cool.

This was an ok experience. If you have kids, I think this would be an awesome place to take them. If you're a single adult female traveler who has a super soft spot for aquariums, you might want to really consider coming.

It's smaller than I imagined it to be with a weird flow and small exhibits.

However, there are good shows every 15-30 min and some really cool sea life.

This is a family favorite. The exhibits are world-class, and there are a lot of educational programs/community involvement. It can be tough to enjoy when crowded during peak hours, so look for nights and special events.
