Wonderful place, not laid out in the most efficient way cause a lot of traffic jams.
Wonderful place, not laid out in the most efficient way cause a lot of traffic jams.
A lot of cool stuff such as jellyfish, sharks, lots of fish, seals, penguins, and more!
How can you not love this place? The aquarium is a great place to learn, see awesome things from around the world.i love that you can touch, see, and experience. Annual passed are the way to go. For long Beach locals, one of the coolest relaxation locations. I highly recommend it.
I've been here twice and loved it. It's not a huge aquarium, so it's not a whole day event. We spent about 3-4 hours there each time, but we also had no kids in our party. They have field trips there, so keep in mind it gets crowded when all the school kids are there. It wasn't too crazy though. We all enjoyed ourselves, and got to see everything. The first time we went there were some exhibits under construction, but got to see them the second time. I really love the touch tanks! Definitely worth going to visit at least once!
Beautiful, charming, friendly atmosphere. So much to interact with, and learn, and admire. The creatures seem happy and contented. The squids will play with you, the bat rays like to be pet, the jellies are enchanting. Oh, good food at the cafe, too!
We host l.a high class of 78 reuion there .off the chain
Great place for all from small child to adult. Staff is very friendly and more than happy to share facts of wildlife.
First timer. Great place to take the kids but it is a small place. Went through the whole aquarium in an hour and a half including having lunch there. Also paid less for regular parking than the $8 flat rate aquarium validation parking.
Nice place to take your kids, but taking little ones not a place cause there screaming, and running I think there should be a age limit, or the Moms should have more control of there kids, other then that lots of cool fish, and my 13 year old son loved it, will be back again
I love the jellyfish and to be able to touch the moon jellys was awesome.
Good place to take kids...overpriced though and was dirty.
Touch tanks, seals, otters, sharks, a turtle, jellies, cephalopods, and a big...fish tube. What more could you want? Also BIRDS. I love this place.
Education is the key to child development. Take every child to a museum, bookstore and of course aquariums! Plz
We touched the sharks, amazing experience but not so big as I imagined
I went to San Diego zoo and so many of the cool animals were put away and we were not able to see them, after that I went to aquarium of the pacific were all the sea life was there to see, in my opinion it was better than San Diego zoo
My family always have good times here, we been members for 3 years and not planning to cancel.
Great for a few hours of learning for all ages.
Good atmosphere for entire family.
As Aquariums go, this place is OK, but it is rather small and limited. My wife and I used to love coming here back when it was affordable. But now that it costs about $40 to get in and you re lucky to spend two hours touring the place without seeing the same thing over and over again it just isn t worth it.
Multiple interesting exhibits. Good place to spend half a day with family specially the middle schooler kids.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself 110%. I booked online for the aquarium as well as the whale watching tour at 3pm. Be sure to get your ticket certified so that you just pay $8 for parking, for the whole day at Long Beach! There are so many fishes and water dwelling creatures to see here that you need to get there as soon as it opens to give you enough time to check out everything. You can leave the aquarium to get lunch, just make sure they stamp your hand. The staff is super friendly. There is also a shark and sting ray petting pool. Be sure to also visit the video theatre.
I went as an adult and I loved all the information set up at each exhibit. There is a little passport you can bring with and get a stamp at each stop throughout the aqaurium. I used it as a checklist to make sure I saw everything.
Yes, it's a tourist trap and yes, it's expensive for what it is, BUT you can almost always get some kind of deal and this aquarium is very cool for what it is--a small aquarium. Go during the off season when it's not packed with tourists and put some of your favorite music on your iPod while watching fish swimming around and above you.
Beautifully maintained with interactive shows and pools. Has a kids area.
A small but fun place for animal observation and experience. The Aquarium of the Pacific Fox is so cute!
A great place for the entire family. New construction completed with accompanying nice exhibits make for a fun day
It was great lots of fun went there for a field trip today loved it
It was fun to see all of the exhibits and it wasn't too full to miss anything
We unexpectedly came to the aquarium on Long Beach Grand Prix weekend. The staff said it was crazier than usual. However we couldn't tell and the customer service was amazing.
Kids loved it and I did too. Great experience, I highly recommend it.
Recently experienced the aquarium during a private event held between 6 to 9pm. My experience is probably different from a typical visitor as I was able to see most exhibits with one or two other visitors around me. However, some exhibits were off limit.
I had been to larger aquariums such as New England Aquarium in Boston, National Aquarium in Baltimore, Monterey Bay Aquarium, etc. This aquarium is much smaller in size as compared to those aquariums. However, judging by its own merit, this aquarium is designed quite well given that: 1) the marine life forms are clearly visible inside each tank; 2) the viewing area surrounding each exhibit appears to be sufficiently roomy so being able to get close to an exhibit even when there is a crowd should not be too difficult; and 3) the aisles are wide so the likelihood of getting trampled should be low. Of course, your experience may be different when you are amongst a crowd.
With respect to the exhibits, the focus appears to reflect the aquarium name, which is marine life in the Pacific although Pacific is a big ocean so maybe the namesake is too ambitious as the number of exhibits is quite limited. To me, the most interesting exhibits are related to jelly fish. In fact, there is a tank in the outside courtyard full of jelly fish. There are more than ten tanks of various subspecies of jelly fish inside the aquarium. Most tanks have lighting that illuminates the reflective body parts so the effect feels out of this world, especially when the area surrounding a tank is darker than the tank.
Is it worth the price of admission, which is $34.95 for an adult without any discount as of this writing? The answer if likely a yes if you are interested in marine life forms and could take the time to look at every exhibit. Creating and maintaining an aquarium is a costly endeavor after all.
It was better then I thought it would be. My Grandsons enjoyed it immensely!!
This Aquarium is 3 floors of AMAZINGESS The amount of information and education about California's, water systems, and the diverse range of fish, and water mammals, coastal birds, and sustainability, and renewable energy is remarkable. It even touches on ways to improve our food systems. Everything is connected. Once you pay your entry fee, every exhibit, and the screenings are free. I literally spent the whole day here. Great Great Great place for Families, and Educators, especially Homeschoolers.
Awesome aquarium with lots of amazing fish. Try to avoid the weekends tho since it was incredibly crowded and slightly overwhelming with so many people.
The tanks too small for the amount of fish... ESPECIALLY that poor octopus trying everything to get room...
I took my class there on a field trip and they had so much fun with the interactive experiences :)
I loved your aquarium so did my kids maybe next year we can come again the long drive was worth everything! I'm glad we have had so much fun my family loved the beautiful fish colors! :) It was fun I give the aqurarium a five star!!
Loved that you are able to pet the small sharks. Very disappointed with the variety and size
Beautiful exhibits and plenty of touch pools to enjoy.
Very nice place. Great for kids and adults. Great jellyfish!!
So many touch exhibits and interactive exhibits. Plus the cafe had good food, if a little pricey.
Aquarium is alright, I think it s overpriced but area around is nice
We did the 18+ event. It was lots of fun had plenty of options on food and drinks. The drinks where a little over priced but we enjoyed the experience and will return.
We had a great day at the aquarium it was very busy but fun I love taking photos of the jellyfish they always look great no matter what. Bring your kids and whole family. Also alot of walking is required and you can touch some of the sea creatures also!!
Love going here with the family. A few awesome things to learn, lots to explore and you cannot beat the parakeet cage. Buy lots of nectar so you can have a lot of fun.
Way bigger than it looks. Lots of staff to answer questions and provide info
Wonderful place to explore, learn, and enjoy the Southern California coast. See native species in their natural environments. Touch sharks, rays, jellies, anemones and much more! A treasure in our back yard. You're guaranteed to walk away knowing more than you knew when you went in.
My son loves this place, we are members and we love to come to see the fish almost every weekend. Also a beautiful view of the ocean just across the way.
Came here as a chaperone for one of my niece's class and the staff was super professional the only thing was entering seemed to take up about thirty minutes or more and seating to eat lunch was hard we had to sit on the floor because various schools were there but other than that it was good you see a while variety of sea animal and my favorite was being able to touch jelly fishes
A world class aquarium with a Long Beach neighborhood vibe.
Had a good time and it is definitely well kept. The price is quite steep and not sure I would be willing to pay full price. I have been to better aquariums for alot less.
I Went here during a Field trip with the whole class, i enjoyed it, I highly recommend this place, I wish to return here, with another field trip . I think it's awesome for me to go to in five years.
Great place to take children and to learn about sea life.
Everything, except the overpriced simple plain food, is awesome.
New safety measures in place. They did the best and worked out well. Make sure you have a reservation
Great place to take the kids and have a nice family time. And they sell adult beverages it's a plus.
Fun, usually a good time with the little one, wish it wasn't so pricey between admission and parking and food it's an $$ day
Not what I expected...Small....Small "homes" for residents...Super sad experience
Great place. We had a very good time exploring the museum and taking the whale watching tour through the aquarium. I really enjoyed the exhibits on local Southern California marine ecosystems.
I loved it so much it was cheap fun and near restaurants and CSULB
Great place to go with kids. It s a quick experience for older patrons though
This aquarium is much bigger with more things to see and learn about. We had a lovely day there and we really enjoyed our time at Aquarium of the Pacific. I truly feel everyone can enjoy it. You can touch a star fish, learn about different frogs, see interesting sea horse, touch some sting ray / sharks, enjoy a couple of many different type of fish or feed some nectar to some beautiful colored birds. There are a lot of different species like fishes, frog, bird, jellyfish, sea horse, penguins, sea star etc. that you can see here. Overall, it is an awesome place to learn about sea life and how to save their environment.
Good aquarium. Typical things to see. It's not terribly big so you won't expect much but it's nice and of course great for teaching the kids. Nice to get someone interested in marine biology. Didn't get to see the penguin was kind of disappointed
Here with Family and friends....very big and full off all kinds of sea life i didn't know existed, fun for the whole family spend the whole day here and not get bored. Recommended. also is a big pier with restaurants near the area, very nice.
Good place but ticket is little costly ... we took combo of queen mary and aquarium which costed us $44 . Also if u r parking in complex located next to aquarium plz pay parking at aquarium counter as that will be less rate .. for us w paid $8 for full day
Wonderful experience! Pet stingrays and sharks. Experience the beautiful Pacific Ocean
This was the perfect alternative to Disneyland on a rainy day! We loved how many exhibits there are and that there are some mammals (sea lions, seals, otters) to see in addition to the many types of fish. There are a few opportunities in the outside exhibits to touch some of the sea creatures (sting rays, sharks, jellyfish) and a very cool touch pool inside the building. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
If you do go on a rainy day, just be prepared for a big crowd!
