Went on a whale watching tour from here. Saw a lots of dolphins. There was a whale too but we saw its back only. Staff on cruise was good. It gets really windy on deck so don't forget to carry extra protection. Food is available on cruise but you can get your own as well which is better idea.

That place is amazing!! I would suggest going when there are not a lot of people therw. They can get rather rude. Everyone who work's there are very helpful & very friendly! I will definitely go back there to visit again during the week. I really loved the Aquarium!!

Came in early, was busy with schools visiting. Up stairs cafe was closed for construction.Up stairs terrace snack bar closed at 11:10. Called staff claimed it opens at 10:30, a bunch of staff showed up but no one opened the place. Only place that had food was down stairs and it's all junk food. Nothing healthy. Over priced and small. Not worth 30 dollars. Plenty of people looking for food walked out. Bring your own food.

I've seen some bad reviews about this place and I really disagree. I went in jaded from the Monterey bay aquarium and this aquarium is more of a mini zoo. They have small attractions but they're really entertaining. You get scuba divers in the large tanks and birds you can feed, manta rays you can touch, and a lot of tropical fish and coral. Make sure u don't forget to validate ur ticket at the exit so you only pay 8 dollars. Be sure to go early because parking in the structure will be difficult and I'll end up on the roof like me. They also have a wide variety of seahorses, super cool. This place gets super packed quick, I went I. During labor day. It won't be a waste of time I promise. love it.

The aquarium of the Pacific was amazing as always. Today the sweet as pie, gumball the octopus, was seen bouncing about her tank, giving all the visitors a real treat while in line for the touchpool. The twins bat rays were also a sight to see as they stole the show with their undeniable cuteness.

Although it was a bit crowded on the Friday we went there, they still had a lot of cool sea life to see and tough. The variety of jellyfish they have is great. If you have them validate parking, you'll save a couple of bucks. Just be ready to pay an arm and a leg for snacks and drinks.

If you have Kids and Visiting LA, you have to visit Aquarium of the Pacific, you can talk to Divers while they feed the fish, and we recommend the backstage tour.
Staff need to cheer up more and be more friendly though.

This is one of my favorite places to spend the day! It's also a great place to take kids. There are several hands on exhibits. The jelly fish room is must see. And, if you're not afraid of birds, feed the Lorakeets! Parking is plentiful and reasonable. There's a restaurant inside (as well as a snack bar) and several restaurants just outside.

It's a great place to take kids and get out of the heat. I'd recommend going during the week if possible to avoid the crowd. It takes a couple hours to get through it. Easily done in 4 hours. The food there is ok. I'd recommend going early after breakfast and they going to eat somewhere else after you are done just take some snacks in case the anyone starts getting hungry. Don't forget to get your parking validate.

Very nice for children just have to get there early because some of the concession stands close a little early look like private vendors after 2:30 at 3 they start shutting down but is a excellent place to take your children to learn about the water life.

Nice aquarium....good view points and plenty to see. Only negative would be too many unattended kids running around like maniacs..but thats the parents fault..not the aquarium. (Maybe we came on a bad day). Maybe increase the security a little bit to keep the little brats in line. Oh well.... I'd give them 4.5 if it would let me!

Had an enjoyable day exploring the aquarium. The exhibits were great. Disappointed in the closed exhibits, but most were open.

The kids enjoyed the water pads outside. We all liked the touch tanks, the bird aviary, and collecting the imprints for our guidebook at key stations along the way. I appreciated having occasional upholstered benches for waiting for our group or pausing to watch jellyfish.

Parking is available at a paid lot across the street from the aquarium. There are convenient restaurants available nearby/a short walk, and harbour tours are available, too.

Very serene, when it's not crowded. Beautiful overall and the man who was showing us shark skin by the stingray enclosure was absolutely ADORABLE! He's so sweet. Great place for little ones more so older people. Only complaint is that there is no shark head grabber @ the gift shop. :'(

Don't forget the home school mornings where it gets pretty crowded but rates are reasonable for both parents and kids. Parking is a bit of a bummer at $8 even with validation and they don't take AMEX.

One well maintained of all aquariums I visited. Also you can't miss the moderm part teather. Excellent staff. You will only pay $8 parking with your entrance for whole day. I got my member card it pays for itself in a 2nd visit and can go any time during one year.

Lots of exhibits and I loved the Lorakeets. Great way to spend an afternoon for sure. The only gripe that I have is that it seems small for how many people are there. They may be renovating to add more exhibits though as there was construction going on outside.

This is a solid aquarium. The exhibits are well curated and the fish are gorgeous. The Pacific Northwest section caused some serious deja Vu, having been raised as a young kid north of Seattle. The birds outside were cool, as were the giant rays. It was rather expensive though.

Interacted with manta rays and jellyfish and starfish , I was able to touch these creatures , it was fun, I saw sea lions , otters , penguins and so many different types of fish, this is a great place to take your children too.

We have been members since it opened. It is a great aquarium and a great destination for the family. It can get busy during the holidays, but that's to be expected for any popular destination. Downtown Long Beach has also improved a lot over the years, so there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, as well as some good outlet stores like Nike and Columbia for fun after the aquarium. There are also harbor cruises and whale watching trips next door to the aquarium (not affiliated with the aquarium itself). There is also a park a short walk away with a hill that is super fun for small kids to play on. Highly recommend a visit.

The aquarium itself is great. Because of Covid only the outside area was open limiting the experience. They reduced the price to compensate and for $15 you got your money's worth. It is what you make of it so you have to consider if it's worth it for you. It's a good way to spend time with children. Unfortunately the surrounding area, including the entrance park area, was overrun with loud, obnoxious groups of teens. Foul language and rude behavior by unsupervised teenagers pretty much ruined the day. Also the excessive amount of rental scooters and skateboards made what could have been a pleasant strolling area loud and haphazard. When the aquarium fully opens and you can spend most of your time inside it's worth the drive. Unfortunately the surrounding neighborhood has gone downhill.

Amazing set of ecosystem themed galleries. Especially impressed with the Pacific Northwest gallery. The surge pools and touch tanks are the best I've seen. The Lorikeets are a blast, be sure to get a cup of syrup.
