Fun for kids and adults. The touch tanks were so cool: moon jellies, rays, sharks, star fish, and more. We also caught the sea lion show which was super cute.
If you wanna spend some family time and anger enjoy a great view stop by
beautiful aquarium! Avoid weekdays before 2 pm if possible. There are so many school field trips and it's so crowded.
Great for the whole family. From sharks to shrimp. Make sure to visit the jellyfish touch tables. Easy to find right off the freeway and plenty of parking.
Went to human abilities day loved it my wife was able to get around and we saw some wheelchair dancers
Date of Visit: Monday, December 9th, 2019
This is a world class aquarium. The exhibits are well done, well maintained, and have a good focus on Environmental Enrichment. The aquarium has a great conservation program, educational program for kids (and adults). They teach people about the devastating effects of climate change is having on our oceans and water ways, and thus the coast lines, and the rest of the world.
The staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
The cost is decent and within the realms of what you might expect to pay to visit an aquarium.
The restaurants/food court area is decent.
There is free WIFI that has good service.
The gift shop is amazing and has many fantastic items that you will want to purchase before you leave.
Parking is across the street in a parking garage, but if you visit the aquarium you can scan your ticket before leaving and it changes the price to $8 instead of standard fee. You need to get your parking validated before you exit the aquarium.
It is pretty much the same as every other one but more expensive
Adult ticket should cost 20 dollars. N ok more than that.
It was an amazing experience lots of fun fot the family.
It was a decent outing with fun things to see but I was disappointed that their coupons/prices were not clear. I found a coupon on their website for $8 off admission (for up to 4 people). If you have not been to the aquarium before, you might not know that their are several admission types. You can get general admission or you can choose to get admission with a behind-the-scenes-tour or admission with a harbor cruise or 4D movie, etc.
When trying to use our $8 off coupon to purchase one of the more expensive admission options, they would not let us. It is only available for the general admission. They quoted the "Not valid with any other off, including online offers or pre-purchased tickets." small print on the coupon. They consider the other admission options as "other offers".
That is not clear. It was very disappointing to start the day of family fun with a bad experience at the door.
I also had a bad experience with their cruise partner "Harbor Breeze Cruises". They tried to overcharge me for my four tickets. Luckily I did the math in my head when I thought it seemed high. They quickly took the extra $20 off the total when I brought it up. Luckily I caught them.
I don't care what someone charges for their services as long as it is clear and honest.
As a new resident of LBC, I was given comp tickets. how lovely, right. I enjoyed observing mature for the day.
Noisy. Has some interesting exhibits, like the sea lions and the penguins.
Boys really enjoyed their time here.. staff was friendly and informative
Great place to spend time with your kids and grandkids
Great place to see various sea animals up close and get information from staff. Great for field trips and family outings.
Great experience with a large range of aquatic organisms. Highly recommend you visit.
Great place to take the kids and spend day learning about our oceans and life that lives below.
We had a good time taking our grandson to the aquarium today. It was rainy, and so the outside shows were canceled. However, there was plenty to do inside. get there early, it opens at 9 am. When we were leaving at a quarter to 1, the line was quite lengthy outside. They have a good number of people that are members of the aquarium, so the crowds get full around 11 and it's harder to get close enough to the tanks to see the animals, much less read the very informative information on the walls.
Love the lorikeet exhibit. Lots of hands on stuff for kids too.
Excellent aquarium overall. There are lots of different areas and creatures to explore. The crowds sometimes turn the experience into a less enjoyable one.
Our family has been coming here for many years. On our most recent visit, there were many wonderful sealife experiences, but the facilities were not as clean as before. The walkways look worn and have noticeable heavy traffic buildup.
The bird aviary was a surprise and delight. We brought grandma and the kids, and they had a blast feeding the lorikeets a liquid food sold at the entrance.
A wonderful aquatic experience overall, but could use a deep clean!
Minus a few of the food employees it was a blast! A few people in the inside cafeteria were so rude I could have yelled at them and should've taken time out of my day to complain about their behavior. The rest of the volunteers were great, full of knowledge and so nice and polite! The animal enclosures were nice sized and it was kept nice and clean.
It was amazing my girls loved it my boy loved the frog exhibit and the hammer sharks the otters were so adorable
Always a must when you have the time to take the family! Definitely nice you can look up a discount and they usually always have one for a group!
Had a great time saw white whales on the boats my oldest got the chance to see alot of animals n touch
Wonderful aquarium, jewel of long beach! They're continuously maintaining and upgrading, very impressive. Extremely family friendly, so naturally it gets very full with young families and strollers on weekends.
Now is the time to go. Very quiet, you'll have the whole place to yourself.
We love taking our son here. There is so much to see. He loves the little kid park outside as well, to burn off a little more energy. Be sure to get there early to avoid the lines and the parking garage.
I loved the touch tanks of sting rays, sharks, and jellyfish. I thoughly enjoyed the frogs, sea dragons, and other aquariums.
Is a beautiful place to be with family and friends enjoy the nation the sea I love it it's beautiful
Great place to bring kids or even for adults! Informative employees... and you can pet some of the sea animals in the outdoor area
Underwhelming. Kids had a great time but I was expecting more.
Animals are active after 5pm. Price is cheaper too! Fun experience
I waited to give my review of the Aquarium of the Pacific until after I visited Monterey Bay Aquarium...Long Beach is awesome. Sorry Monterey Bay, there was no comparison. This place is clean, you are allowed to touch way more slimy watery creatures. Monterey has the jellies, Long Beach has everything else. Easy parking, great people, great looking animals, room to walk. I choose local.
Very busy with families and children. It's hard to go to a place like that at times because adults (especially those without children) seem to be second-rate citizens. Be prepared to be assertive and push through to get your fair share of the amazing aquatic animals! great place to get some beautiful photos and see interesting things!
Haven't been here since elementary school but its a really good place last time I saw it.
Great exhibits, great staff, and very educational for all ages
Brought a group of 5th graders here. Aquarium of the Pacific is under construction, it's going to be even Greater!
It is small yet lots to see. A bit expensive though.
Great aquarium. They had multiple shows throughout the day such as feeding/training the otters, seals, sea lions, etc. And multiple petting areas, I pet a bunch of different sting rays and even pet a shark!! I also really enjoyed the show where they talk to Divers while they were diving in the tanks with the fish! I really enjoyed my day at the Aquarium!
Interesting place. Worth visiting though the shark lagoon is a bit disappointing
It was amazing. I recommend you to go there. Really fun. And you have my word.
Other than the fact that is was field trip day, I always love visiting the aquarium.
I took my 5 year old son here and he really loved the touching pools where he could pet the sharks and rays.
The parking is in the building next to Bubba Gump. The Aquarium is lovely and the collections are amazing. I strongly auggest to bring snacks and water and go check out the cool electric jellyfish. Parking is around 10$ if you stay for a couple oh hours.
The aquarium is fantastic. There is plenty great displays, lots of different marine animals on offer with accompanying information relevant to California. The touch pools are a nice touch.
When buying tickets you should look at including a cruise. I went on the Whale Watching cruise, 2 1/2 hrs, got to see a huge pod of dolphins, some sea lions and a Humpback Whale. It was an awesome experience, all narrated by a naturalist from the aquarium.
I got a promo to take the ride to see the whales and enjoyed every minute. The crew was super nice and the whole experience of seeing the whales and dolphins in their natural habitat is priceless. The only thing I kinda disliked was that there were some drunk ladies who were a little bit obnoxious and annoying... I know the company is not responsible for people's behavior but is it necessary to sell alcoholic beverages in this type of family trips? For this same reason it took me around 20 minutes to buy a soda and some candies because one of these ladies was before me, wanted a bloody Mary (at 10am...) and since the bar was barely opening they didn't have the ingredients yet. Again, I don't see the need of alcohol in these trips. Other than that, fabulous experience worth living at least once.
THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!!!! Seriously, I enjoy coming here even more than Sea World. They have so many cool tanks with all kinds of amazing animals! Way more tanks than Sea World. They have a cool outdoor area as well with little stations where you can touch the small sharks and rays. Their giant fish tank in their lobby is SO cool! And their gift shop is really cool too. Very fun place.
Very kid friendly. Easy access. Can handle big crowds.
We had a great day here, we went during the Christmas season so we think it might have been a bit crazier than normal. They had a ton of really nice exhibits with fish from up and down the coast and elsewhere. I think our favorite exhibit was the playful seals! They had a touch pool with sharks and Ray's which was really fun for our little one. The place is in need of a bit of renovations but from what it looked like they are doing exactly that. Long story short this is a great place to spend the day learning with your kids.
It was okay. I liked Monterey bay aquarium better and the California Academy of Science! It was small, but amazing. I loved the string ray and the fresh water ! I would go back again.
Impressive!!! This place was not in our original list of places to visit during our San Diego and LA trip. But, on the way from San Diego to LA, we decided that we will have a quick stop over here and we are glad we did. The variety of sea life here is amazing and there are some big sharks here too that you get to see up close. There are a lot of shows so check the timings and plan accordingly. I would say that the fee is very nominal compared to the variety you get to see. Took us about 3 hours to see all the exhibits. Strongly recommend to visit.
Been here over 10 times with my kids. Great place to spend a weekend with the family.
The places was SUPER CROWDED on a Saturday. You couldn't even see the fish. They should have a occupancy capacity but obviously they don't.
It's such a fun place for young kids and perfect hot days.. I've been a member for years and the exhibits do get a little repetitive.. they need more marine life.. the kids would love interactive exhibits. GET THE KIDS INVOLVED.
This is great for children. Should visit at least once.
I love going here when ever we visited family. and it's a great nice price family place. when arizona is hot we go here
It's fun to spend time with my son there. And touching the jelly fish and sea stars was fun too.
Fun day for the kids. Well maintained and clean. Lota to see, easy to spend 3-5 hours enjoying. We have a season pass, and go 1-2 times a month.
Really interactive and lots of cool fish to look at!
It was really nice place. People who work here are so nice, friendly and well trained in their areas. The knowledge they have to talk and teach on certain areas was great. Really enjoyed my time there. It was remarkable visit and it was beautiful sight seeing.
Love the place and more when you have little ones. Took my daughter and she loves all the variety of sea animals, but something got her attention when she was able to feed nectar to the birds. She just had the experience for the bird to be on her hand and was a moment she would never forget.
Wow super amazing. A whole world. Millions of species from our seas
5-stars for a great family experience. Our son lovedddd feeding the lorikeet, touching the sting ray and seeing all of the animals. It's nice and clean and just the right amount of exhibits! Bring some food because there's not much food here or the lines are really long.
Loved it! My granddaughters had a wonderful experience!
