Nothing short of amazing! You think an aquarium is all about looking at fish through glass. Not at all! I got to pet sharks, rays, jellyfish, horseshoe crabs, and I had 5 Lorikeets land on my arm! Super interactive, great displays, there were tons of people there, but it didn't seem crowded. A must see!

"Sea LIONS, and TIGER sharks, and aaaaa cute furry sea otters, oh my". Oh my, what a wonderful, large, well run aquarium. Take a fantasy journey through 2 floors of colorful, dazzling, impressive sea life exhibits. Get up so very close to a wide variety of fish, crustaceans, plants, birds, and more. Bring your cameras, there's lots of photo opportunities. 9 fun, and educational shows going on through out the day. 9:45-5:00. There's a small cafe, and bistro, to serve your food and refreshments needs. A large gift shop, full of tantalizing souvenirs. A parking structure right across from the entrance. Get your parking ticket validated for an $8 charge. Figure a good 3-6 hours, to enjoy it all Opens 9-6 daily.
Horrible. The aquarium itself is wonderful, but my God, it was so full of screaming kids, summer day camp kids, clubs, tour groups, and baby carriages, we could barely move, or hear ourselves think. It was a mob scene everywhere we turned. We were there on a Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Our first and last time. We will never return.
We used the GoLA City Pass and this was included as an attraction. The aquarium was nice, although it was really hot outside. I wasn't impressed with the shows they put on due to limited seating and a disorganization as far as people just standing in front of you if you were lucky/early enough to get seating. I think I would have been agitated if I paid full price for 6 people. The touch pools were fun for the kiddos and they even let them pet small sharks along with the usual rays. As usual, refreshments are expensive at these places. We brought water bottles in and ate at a little burger stand just outside of the aquarium. It was an overall fun experience for the kiddos.
Fun and quality Aquarium, notable exhibits are the many jellyfish exhibits including a touch tank. Friendly and informative staff, easy to follow flow of exhibits.
Loved looking at all the sea life but it was so crowded. We had a disabled child with us and people kept pushing and shoving past us. Not sure if it was just really Busy that day or if it's always like that but it made it less enjoyable. We left after 2 hours and we missed seeing alot. Hope to go again one day when it's not so crowded
This was a fun place to visit. There's a good amount of interactive educational information, and the displays were well tended to. It's a great day trip if you have little ones, but it's great for adults too.
Not appreciating how expensive this place is when it's such a simple spot. I started a convo with a worker who was working in the food area. A water was like $4. I mentioned it was over priced. He commented back stating they're trying to make it more like an amusement park. I was like c'mon.... Really??? That was very unrealistic. I think it's more due to it not having much visitation, and it's the schools who are keeping its doors open. $8 parking is pretty disappointing as well. The more I think about it, the more I realize it's focusing more on money instead what the place can really offer. Workers don't seem very happy.
JUST HERE AT THE AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC. TODAY IS FREE SENIOR DAY...AND BELIEVE ME....VERY MANY....LOL THEY AL L SEEM TO BE IN GOOD CHEER. HAD A GREAT TIME WITH A FEW CLIENTS FROM DMH.
This aquarium isn't very large but it is just the right size for a family trip. There's also other amazing things to do around the aquarium like whale watching.
Excellent aquarium. They are renavating to build additional areas over the next year. It is an nice size not as large as the Monterey Aquarium but still nice. They have a great outdoor area in the back with additional sealife and birds.
It is not far from the Queen Mary and there are many restaurants, lots of parking, and even a movie theater with additional shops and parking across the street.
All the sea life the awesome to see up close. The only bummer wss that the Octopus stayed hidden.... the one we wanted to see the most. Affordable souvenir shops too.
Edit: Looking back for the $30 we paid to get in it was pretty underwhelming. We have since been to other aquariums that were cheaper by half and were larger with a much larger variety of things to see. The sea lions and sea otters as well as the shark and ray touch tanks were the highlights. But that was it. You feel pressured to move forward non stop and it was quite cramped at times. Also their main restaurant waa closed and their snacks on the patio are fit for small mammals, not normal human beings and with the prices they were asking for I would dare say it was a rip off
Our experience at aquarium of the Pacific was so awesome that I would go back again it was very nice and educational for us us grown-ups and the grand kids to we learned a lot there it was cool to do with the family and to spend time with family.
This was our first time going to this aquarium. First pricing: I think it's mainly worth the price if you can find a good discount. We got discount prices for adults and children by going to a local Ralphs. Directions: really easy to get here. Parking: they have a parking structure right in front of the aquarium. It is $8 when you get your ticket validated at the aquarium. Crowd levels: very packed on weekends, and we got there around noon and it was very very packed. I don't recommend coming during noon to 3pm. A lot of the indoor walkways are right, so it was hard maneuvering with a small stroller. Aquarium: it's not very big. But I don't consider Monterey bay aquarium big either. This was slightly smaller, and more congested. There's indoor and outdoor exhibits. They have a large touch pool area with some sharks, rays, jelly fish, and horseshoe crabs. A lot of the exhibits indoors were replicated around the aquarium. The staff was more friendly here than at Monterey Bay Aquarium. They have a bright and big gift shop. If we come back here I would probably do an aquarium and whale watching tour combo. We have a 1 year old and my wife is pregnant so we couldn't do that. The 5 year old had a blast too.
